Cholera is a severe infection caused by contaminated food or water. It can be deadly if left untreated. To prevent cholera, drink boiled or treated water, wash hands frequently with soap and water, or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Eat packaged or freshly cooked food, and dispose of feces properly. These measures are crucial for preventing cholera. Welcome everyone. My name is Alec Ngobe. I would like to welcome you to this podcast where we are seeking to prevent cholera. But before we get into details in discussing about cholera prevention, we have to first understand what cholera is. It is very crucial for us to understand that cholera is a severe, diarrheal-like infection that is caused by eating food or water contaminated by a particular kind of bacteria or germ. Cholera can kill untreated people within hours through excessive loss of fluid. So if we want to know how we can prevent cholera, we can take the following steps. First, we have to ensure that we drink only boiled or treated water and bulked or canned carbonated beverages. Secondly, wash your hands often with soap and clean water. And thirdly, if soap and water are not available, wash your hands with an alcohol-based hand cleaner that contains at least 60% of alcohol. So it's important to clean your hands before you eat or prepare food after using the toilet. So you should also eat foods that are packaged or that are freshly cooked and served hot. Avoid eating raw or undercooked meat or seafood or unpeeled fruit and vegetables. You have to dispose of feces in a sanitary manner to avoid contaminating water and food. So this is what I brought to you. We have to take necessary measures for us to prevent cholera. So with this, I thank you.
