"Eclesiastés o El Predicador" is a book found in the Bible, specifically in the Reina Valera version. It is a collection of reflections from an elderly figure known as the "Predicador" or the Preacher. The Predicador contemplates the meaning of life and reflects on the futility or "vanity" of pursuing even the good things that life has to offer, such as wisdom, work, pleasure, and wealth. Despite providing temporary satisfaction, these pursuits are ultimately rendered meaningless by death. The book echoes God's judgment on Adam for his sin in the Garden of Eden. However, the Predicador suggests that those who live in fear of the Lord can still enjoy the good gifts bestowed by God. The Predicador also urges young people to remember their Creator while they have their whole lives ahead of them. It is traditionally believed that the Predicador, also referred to as the son of David and king in Jerusalem, is Solomon.
