i want to welcome every one of you to this special program one thing i'm thanking god about is the series we are beginning i'm so happy to start this series with you in this series our theme for this series is the concept of wisdom the concept of wisdom and the reason we are bringing this as a series to you is so that you can have the full understanding of what is scripture described as wisdom and how you can apply wisdom as well how you can use wisdom get wisdom and then use it so in this our series we have four teachings number one we'll be talking about the principality of wisdom the principality of wisdom that is our first topic in this series then second topic is the practicality of wisdom you can just attend this meeting and you don't want to attend the next meeting no you have to attend this meeting and attend the next meeting are you with me so the first meeting which we are going to have now is the principality of wisdom our next topic will be the practicality the practicality of wisdom and then we are going to also consider in our coming meetings the power of wisdom and the last of it all we'll be talking about the person called wisdom the person called wisdom but then we are going to start with our first topic which is the principality of wisdom the principality of wisdom let us go to the book of proverbs chapter four verse seven proverbs chapter four verse seven the bible says in proverbs chapter four verse seven verse seven let us open our bibles verse seven the bible says wisdom is the principal thing that is where we get the topic from the principality of wisdom wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom and with all that getting get understanding wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom and in all your getting get understanding why are we talking about wisdom why are we considering the topic called wisdom why must we dwell and talk about wisdom is there any importance of wisdom to the human life before i go further let us check that the same verse of the bible using other versions you know i use kim james version where we read just now now let me use other versions let us come to the book of proverbs again using other versions proverbs chapter four verse seven i'm going to use the amplified version proverbs chapter four verse seven i'm going to use the amplified version the bible says in amplified the beginning of wisdom is get wisdom that is skillful and godly for skillful and godly wisdom is the principal thing and with all you have gotten get understanding which is discernment get comprehension and interpretation that is how the amplified version narrates or put it let us use the message bible the message bible says above all and before all above all and before all do this get wisdom above all things get wisdom before all things get wisdom like this at the top of your list and then get understanding so above all and before all wisdom must be must be gotten let us use new niv niv the reason i'm using different version is because this is the first topic in this series i want to have basic understanding of this word of this verse proverbs chapter four verse seven so let us use niv wisdom is supreme therefore get wisdom though it costs all you have but get understanding wisdom is supreme when we use in this fashion it's a wisdom is the principal thing okay let us use new uh the nlt that's the new living translation let us use it it's a getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do and whatever else you do get good understanding using these various bible translations we have come to understand what the bible means by the word uh when the bible says principal thing wisdom is the principal thing so we have gotten understanding of the word principality when we use the word principality that we are talking about the supremacy of wisdom now wisdom is supreme that's the relevance of wisdom the importance of wisdom how powerful wisdom is so why we talk about the principality of wisdom is because many christians doesn't see wisdom as part of the christian life are you getting me now they don't see that it is something they should use in christianity let me say this to you first of all you must understand that wisdom has a central place in the christian life that means if you say you are a christian and you are wise there's a problem there look at the example that jesus the parable that jesus said in the book of matthew about the about the ten versions they say five we are wise five we are foolish you see wisdom was being used there wisdom is always associated with positivity it's always associated with positivity now let us go to the book of proverbs 24 verse 3 because we want to talk about wisdom and i want to i want you to understand the essential of wisdom the importance of wisdom proverbs 24 verse 3 proverbs chapter 24 verse 3 the bible says in verse 3 of proverbs 24 true wisdom is an house built and by understanding it is established a house is built by wisdom whether it's a literal house whether it is a physical house whether it is a marital house was whether it's a business house true wisdom a house is built is it marriage true wisdom a house is built is it family home true wisdom is a house built is it even a ministry true wisdom is a ministry ministry built so wisdom is important wisdom is essential wisdom is very very paramount and as a christian you must intentionally seek for wisdom now let us go to the book of ecclesiastics chapter 10 verse 10 ecclesiastics chapter 10 verse 10 ecclesiastics chapter 10 verse 10 the bible says in verse 10 if the iron be blunt and it do not wet the edge they must be put to more strength but wisdom is profitable to direct wisdom is profitable to direct it means that just the way you find the voice of god you go to seek the voice of god for direction the bible says that wisdom can also direct you profitably that means if wisdom is the one directing you it is to profit are you getting me now so when we talk about wisdom wisdom in its simplest meaning because we are going to talk about i'm going to say speak in different ways that we define wisdom but wisdom in the simplest meaning means the application of knowledge so wisdom is the application of knowledge that means our knowledge should be applied that is wisdom that is wisdom so wisdom is the application of what of knowledge the principality of wisdom that we are talking about it means that wisdom has a superior effect are you with me in the christian life in a personal life even in the secular life wisdom has a superior effect when you apply wisdom in life your life will be there will be a very sharp difference of the kind of life you live and what you are going to become so those that never apply wisdom we call them fools and one of the lifestyle of a fool is that a fool has a lot of negative experiences around him if someone is a fool is going to make many mistakes in life are you with me now so one of the reasons we also need wisdom is to prevent is to help us prevent life dangerous mistakes there are some mistakes you will make in life you will never recover from them again and that is why we need wisdom we need to apply wisdom in our daily lives in our daily activities wisdom should be value and wisdom should be should be sought after it should be something that christians should intentionally seek for it should be something that christian believers should go to the lord and pray for wisdom should be something that your heart should be panty for wisdom is very very essential now when we talk about wisdom in this context there are three ways you are going to understand that this needs wisdom this needs wisdom when are we going to apply wisdom this needs wisdom what are the three things number one when you are doing dealing with the word how h-o-w how number two when you are using the word w-h-e-n w-h-e-n that is when then the last of it all is y double h-y are you with me w-h-y that is w-h-y is why are you getting me now so anytime you are you are doing something in life and it involves how that thing should be done are you with me how things should be done how things should be spoken how things should be presented wisdom is needed number two when you are dealing with things that involves when when when things should be done when things should be spoken when things should be presented that that means wisdom is needed so anytime you are using the word how in situations or you are using the word when in situation it it should remind you that at that point wisdom should be applied and the last of it all is why w-h-y that is why why things should be done why things should be spoken and why things should be presented why are you doing it so there must be wisdom to answer that question of why you want to do this ask yourself this question how am i going to do this that means you are asking for wisdom when am i going to do this that means you are asking for wisdom why should i do this that means you are asking for what for wisdom and you must understand that these three questions demand wisdom to be answered your life is full of these questions in your life you might be a young person here now along the journey of life there will be many life challenges and questions that would come with how when and why are you getting me now so when you talk about how things should be done in your place of work they are discussing about how things should be done you should be able to seek wisdom and apply wisdom in that regard number two when they are talking about when the things should be done because you know you can know why the things should be done but when the things should be done you're talking about the time phase the time what time should that thing be done and if you apply the wrong time to something that needs immediate effect is going to affect you so wisdom demands that you should be able to take the accurate time that such a thing should be done your personal life when should you carry out that business when should you go and learn that career when should you you know go and take that professional exam when should you go and apply for that job when should you start developing yourself you know when there is wisdom you will know that it is now wisdom makes you to apply the right time so the psalmist says lord teach me to number my days that i may apply my heart unto wisdom because wisdom is to be applied on time are you with me so wisdom saves you from making wrong decisions in the timeline of life in the timeline of life that is why you need wisdom and why should that thing be done why there should be reason so the first one is how is asking for opinion number two is when is asking for the time number three is why is asking for the reason now let us come back to the two type of wisdom we have just two types of wisdom types of wisdom two types of wisdom james chapter 3 i read from verse 13 to verse 18 james chapter 3 from verse 13 to verse 18 james chapter 3 let us talk about the two type of wisdom if wisdom is the application of knowledge you must understand that we have positive knowledge and we have negative knowledge so type of wisdom we have the godly wisdom but let us read the book of james chapter 3 verse 13 to verse 18 james chapter 3 verse 13 to verse 18 the bible says in verse 13 who is a wise man and endued with knowledge you see it now knowledge among you let him show out let him show out of a good conversation it works with meekness of words of wisdom because wisdom should be applied is the applied knowledge so if you say you have knowledge and you don't know how to apply it it is not showing it is not showing in application that you lack what wisdom let us go to verse 14 but if you have bitter envy and strife in your heart and glory not lie not against what the truth you can't say you have the knowledge of the world and then they see bitterness envy your adam is there is no application of the world because wisdom should be the application of the knowledge of god's word that is in you let us go to verse 15 this wisdom descended not from above but is earthly sensual and devilish that is one one type of wisdom so we have we have the ungodly wisdom verse 16 for we are envying as twice is there is confusion and every evil work but the wisdom that is from above is fed pure that means the wisdom of the application of god's word makes you to become pure number two it gives you gentle gentleness number three it make you peaceable that means you'll be able to live in peace with let me say this to you you for peace to be sustained in a place the people have to be wise peace does not come because you desire it peace comes because you have wisdom wisdom is the application of knowledge you see when you don't want peace in a family you always want to be right you always want to quarrel you always want to be stubborn arrogant healthy you see most marries cutters today because either the husband or the wife never applied wisdom what is the wisdom sometimes the wisdom may make you to look like a timid person but you see it here that if you say you have the godly wisdom there will be peace peace able that means you'll be able to to establish peace in a place by you allowing the self-knowledge of pride to go and then you buy the knowledge of god now what is the knowledge of god yet he said you should be peacemaker so when there is problem in a place in a church in a organization in your family and then the wisdom of god is not displayed what will happen there will be strife there will be envy there will be bitterness there will be evil works there so wisdom is is demanded to maintain purity let me even say this that for the purity and the holiness of existence to maintain it demands people of wisdom so even though we pray for holiness upon the church of god that lord make everybody here to become holy if there are people that are not wise are you getting me now if there are people that cannot host wisdom they don't have wisdom in them the church will scatter you and i will start fighting against one another so it takes wisdom for you to let go let me say for example you are being offended and the way you are offended there's every possibility in you to react in fact if you react and fight back you are justified but wisdom will demand you that will tell you that well if i fight there won't be peace in this place it is wisdom that makes you to restrict yourself and bring yourself under self-control so that the peace of god can reign so you you deny yourself for peace to reign that is wisdom that is wisdom so where there is no reason there won't be holiness holiness will not be maintained in the system unity and peace and love will not be maintained in the church we pray for peace we pray for holiness we pray for different kind of things these things will not be achieved where there is no what godly wisdom so the bible talks about peace gentleness and easy to be entreated full of mercy and good fruits without partiality without hypocrisy you see wisdom and the fruit of righteousness is sold in peace of them that what that make peace you see the importance of wisdom you see the the principality of wisdom you see the reason why wisdom is supreme the spiritual gift we are talking about the fruit of the spirit we are praying for these things will not fully manifest if we don't accommodate it with wisdom wisdom is very essential wisdom will tell you when to pray you can't be in the one room with people all of you just living like six people living in one room and you just woke up in the night you are shouting and praying loud disturbing other people and you say well i'm seeking the face of god they ought to understand that i'm seeking the face of god you see wisdom will tell you that if i pray loud or do what i'm doing is not bad but i will be i will be inconveniencing the other people so wisdom will direct you to create peace not to shout not to scream wipe away either you go outside to pray or you just probably possibly put in a very quiet mood or shift the prayer time to when they will not be at home so wisdom directs you to make peace are you getting me now so what are the two types of wisdom number one we have the godly wisdom we have godly wisdom so godly wisdom is the wisdom that requires the application of the knowledge of god's word so if you require the application of the knowledge of god's word that is godly wisdom number two is um sorry godly wisdom and also bringing oneself under the control of the spirit of god so when we say it is godly wisdom there is what's the application of the knowledge of god and the bringing of oneself under the influence of the spirit of god that means you turn your body under the influence you turn your tongue under the influence of the spirit of god and then you make the word of god a standard of application you apply the word of god so wisdom godly wisdom is the application of the word of god number two we have the ungodly wisdom we have the ungodly wisdom and then ungodly wisdom um is a kind of wisdom that is devilish is a kind of wisdom that is corny is a kind of wisdom that is full of selfishness is a kind of wisdom that is full of greed that means uh for example now you see these people that are doing all these fraudsters internet fraudsters they use corny wisdom to collect money from people they apply a negative wisdom sorry a negative knowledge and it's a negative knowledge and then they apply it as ungodly wisdom to collect somebody collect money from someone to dupe someone to as a fraudster as fraudsters now that wisdom is negative what wisdom any wisdom you you demonstrate that makes you to shit on your neighbors that make you to scam your neighbors that make you to deceive your neighbors that make you to lie that makes you to lie that wisdom is not from god so never you say that well what i did is that i only apply wisdom that wisdom you apply yes you apply wisdom but you never applied what the wisdom of god so ungodly wisdom makes you what to be it is a kind of wisdom that is corny we call it you saw the devil how the devil cornyly um influenced the person of eve to eat from the forbidden tree the devil was was corny was subtle he used the devil used a subtle way to to to misinform if and then directed if to eat from the forbidden tree that is a corny way it makes you to disobey god so any wisdom that promotes disobedience to god any wisdom that that promotes disobedience to god that that promotes selfishness is not godly wisdom any wisdom that is mixed with greed mockery lies stealing it is not what godly wisdom sometimes we lie and we say it is wisdom you say you just have to apply wisdom it's not everything you answer yes and they ask you a direct question you you throw it here you throw it there you you bring it back again and then before you finish even answer the question the person has been deceived and you say just a wisdom it's not wisdom you are you are corny you are a corny person are you getting me now so that is not god's divine wisdom so wisdom that is devilish and corny in nature that satisfy selfishness that satisfied greed that satisfy mockery lies and stealing it is not godly wisdom this is ungodly wisdom it is wisdom that requires the application of carna and devilish knowledge which is contrary to godliness that is the wisdom carna and devilish knowledge so it leads to disobedience of god's word like for example now the godly wisdom godly wisdom it leads to the obedience of god's word when you apply godly wisdom you will see yourself obeying god so it leads to the obedience of god's word it leads to peace godliness love and work and joy so i can also add that we have the secular wisdom that is the application of of of secular knowledge maybe you are into medical departments the medical knowledge you have gotten about the place you apply the wisdom there maybe you are into the mechanic mechanical departments mechanical engineer and then you apply the mechanical knowledge to do that that is also wisdom that is secular wisdom but we are not going this towards just godly wisdom and ungodly wisdom now let us go to godly wisdom and the voice of god the reason we are talking about this is because most people are always waiting for god to speak they are always waiting for god to what to speak god when are you going to speak god when are you going to speak god when are you going to speak no they are waiting for god to what to speak now let me show you something that it is not every time god speak and that is why he has made possibility and provision of what wisdom let us go to the book of colossians chapter 3 verse 16 colossians chapter 3 verse 16 colossians chapter 3 verse 16 the bible says in verse 16 let the word of christ dwell in you wishly can i put it this way let the knowledge about christ dwells in you wishly let me put it in another way let the word the knowledge of god's word dwells in you wishly in all wisdom so if you apply wisdom in all areas it must be at the boundary of god's word you must not apply beyond the boundary of god's word if not it will become ungodly wisdom so any wisdom you are applying must fit into the foot of the spirit it is either it is promoting love it is either it is promoting peace it is either it is promoting self-control it is either it is promoting kindness faithfulness and the fruit of the spirit you name there so any reason you are you are applying that is not in the boundary of god's word it is not bounded by god's word then that is that reason will lead to destruction the bible said let the word of christ dwells in you wishly because it is the knowledge of god's word that is in you that you will be able to apply that is called wisdom so wisdom is the application of the word of christ that dwells in you wishly now god gives wisdom to any who sincerely come to him and ask for it in james chapter 1 verse 5 because people have been saying okay you have been pushing about wisdom what can i do to get this wisdom how am i going to get this wisdom in james chapter james chapter 1 verse 5 james chapter 1 verse verse 5 the bible says in verse 5 of james it says if any of you lack wisdom let him ask of god that give it to all men freely and operated not and it shall be given him this is the assurance of the word when you lack wisdom in dealing with your matter maybe there is a there is a complication there's a there's a challenge in your in your company in the organization you are working in that may affect you or maybe there's an issue in your marriage between you and your spouse that may affect you or maybe your children they are affecting you maybe they are going astray and then you are having issues having problem with your children and yet you do not know what to do or maybe your neighbors maybe you are living in the midst of unbelievers and they are always persecuting you they are always not comfortable with you and then you need to address that issue how to address that issue that you need wisdom you need to go to the lord and say lord give me wisdom to attend to this issue are you a minister of god a man of god and there's complication in the ministry people are leaving the ministry and the people are always having issues with you this one is quarreling with you this one is lying against your children this one is speaking against your wife and you don't just know where the battle is coming from you don't want to address them they are getting angry they are leaving what should you do at that point you go to the lord and say lord give me wisdom are you a pastor's wife and then you are confused about how to coordinate the women because it is your responsibility to to lead the women like miriam and then you are confused am i going to lead to to unite the women together you need to go to the lord and say lord give me wisdom give me what wisdom many believers hardly go to go to ask for wisdom 90 percent of your prayer point is lord powers against me die by fire witches and wizards fighting against me die by fire covens that is your prayer point you always want to fight against the enemies have you got to ask god for wisdom true wisdom is he has built don't you know that when you apply wisdom is going to give you a strategy of how to conquer the enemies you fight the enemies with wisdom also wisdom is a weapon wisdom is a strong torah when you apply wisdom you are bringing yourself under divine world protection so god give wisdom james chapter 1 verse 5 if any of you lack wisdom let him ask let him ask god who give us liberally when you come to the lord and say lord i need wisdom to attend to this stubborn man i married a difficult man give me wisdom to deal with him i married a difficult woman give me wisdom to deal with her i lord i am confused now i don't know what direction to go lord give me wisdom when should i do this lord when should i do this lord give me wisdom on when i should do this let me say this to you that it is not every time that god speak audible it is not every time he will say i had the voice of god i dreamed about this not every time dreams will come so god gives you wisdom to use use wisdom if dream is not coming use wisdom the bible says that he give it wisdom to him that asked it and he give it what liberally he give it liberally to him that was asked it the voice of god is full of wisdom nevertheless most times instead of god speaking to us through dreams through visions or audible voice or even through prophets god expect us to apply the wisdom of his word on our daily living so let me ask you this question how many of you are conversant with the word of god how many of you read the bible and meditate on it daily because if the voice of god does not come go back to the word of god to get instruction if the voice of god is not coming go and find direction in the word of god if the voice of god is not pressing in your heart go back to the word of god and find instruction go back to the word of god and find direction not every time that god will give you dreams you go and say lord i am still praying when are you going to give me dreams not every time god will give you dreams it will put wisdom on how you can apply it let me say this to you many things i do in life didn't come because i had the voice of god when i say i had the voice of god i mean i didn't even see it in the dream i only had the wisdom the wisdom the spirit of wisdom came upon me the word of wisdom came upon me and then i began to see see the the pattern to follow and the moment apply those things all this work because the wisdom of god is profitable to direct you are you getting me now so god expects us to apply the wisdom of his word on our daily living on our daily activities and the matters that concerns our life so the application of the word of god of itself is what is wisdom when you apply the word of god when you put the word into practice the bible says follow peace with all men you have issues with your neighbor your neighbor have not been talking to you she has not been greeting you he has not been talking to you you you are a christian you can't say well if he's not talking to me i'm going to mind my business let him be on his own let i be no if you do that you are not applying wisdom you are not applying the word of god so for you to apply the word of god by you following peace with him though is the one that offended you but you have to follow peace with him when you apply the scripture you have become more wiser than the person may i say this that the person that comes to apologize doing an offense is more wiser than the person that waited for the other one to come and apologize because every time you put the word of god to practice it makes you wise okay let me show you something in the bible i'm very sorry i want to shift but let us go to the book of 2nd timothy chapter 3 2nd timothy chapter 3 i read verse 15 2nd timothy chapter 3 verse 15 he's speaking about timothy and that from his side thou has known the holy scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus timothy when he was very young he was acquainted with the scripture so when he started applying the scripture he was able to come into salvation so timothy was saved and then he was able to come into salvation through the application of the scripture he learned when he was very young he said from his side thou has known the holy scripture which was able to make thee wise unto salvation make thee wise unto salvation so let me say this to you that wisdom is profitable to direct just like the voice of god the voice of god that comes to you through dreams is full of wisdom the same time the written word of god is full of what wisdom so the written word of god is full of wisdom and you should allow the word of god to dwell in you richly we shouldn't always to hear the audible voice of god in matters where the word of god can be applied the word of god has already talked about that yet you are saying lord what should i do for example now there are people that are still praying to god should i marry an unbeliever lord auntie i hear your voice i will i will i will not go ahead lord auntie i hear your voice should i marry that unbeliever should i marry that unbeliever see the prayer point they are praying when the word of god is go back to the bible open to the book of 2nd corinthians chapter 6 verse 14 downwards be not unequal you together with an unbeliever that is wisdom when you apply the wisdom of the word you are a wise person so the things you are praying for has already been answered in scripture scripture as the answer to them but because you don't want to study the bible and you don't want the word of god to dwell in you wishly you become lazy to seek god to his word we can get wisdom by subjecting ourselves to the word of god and when you start applying the word of god you become wise let me say this to you in fact when you are acquainted with the scripture and you start speaking people will be thinking that you have gone far in age because every word you speak they look like an adult word you speak wisdom you speak from the end to the future from the future to the present because you have seen the future through the pages of god's word let us start applying the word of god if god's word is against marrying unbeliever why should you wait to hear his voice before obeying it if god's word instruct us to walk and not to be idle then we shouldn't pray about it and say lord should i go and walk or not the bible said go and walk walk the bible never the word of god never never encourage idleness as a married man you are not into anything from morning to night you just sit down at all not that you are a minister not that you are working from home nothing you say well i'm just watching over the children watching over the children and then you say i'm praying asking god should i go and walk why shouldn't you go and walk are you a full-time minister even full-time ministers you will see that they are working in the ministry they are laboring in the ministry and idle person is exposed for demonic manipulation and affliction so go and walk the word of god encourage labor encourages walking go and walk you are asking god should i go and walk or not if god's word instruct us not to miss fellowship of believers then why why should you be praying and say lord should i be going to church every time or once a week what kind of prayer is that wisdom has already been bettered in the scripture follow the bible do not forsake the example of ourselves together that is scriptural knowledge obeying the written word of god of itself is wisdom the bible is the book of wisdom the bible is the book of wisdom and that is why we are talking about the principality of the bible so the principality of wisdom if you want to have an absolute a very godly wisdom you must soak yourself in the patience of god's word and apply everything you see there it makes you to become more wiser than your mates it makes you to be wise unto salvation not the wisdom that will destroy your soul but the wisdom that will save your soul that is wise unto salvation i can't finish i can't exhaust it that is why we have the part two of this message so i want to encourage you from today go back to the lord i say lord i need wisdom my life is frustrating give me wisdom on how to plan my life give me wisdom to number my days give me wisdom on how to direct my life let me give you two prayer point before you go number one i'm going to leave you make sure that you pray this prayer i'm going to give you time to pray the prayer number one prayer lord help me to cherish your word give me appetite for your word give me appetite for your word number two lord let me give lord give me wisdom for daily living lord give me wisdom for daily living number one help me to cherish your word number two give me wisdom i want you to pray this prayer now this must be a you must pray from your heart make sure you go to the lord employer lord keep me with them
