The person in the story initially faced skepticism about electricity, but proved its usefulness by providing power to a church and a light bulb in the town square. They gradually increased the hours of electricity and eventually supplied it to the town from 1911 to 1930. Over time, people became believers in electricity, and now it is available around the clock. I hooked up the Presbyterian church in the Durand home right away, but no one else thought electricity was going to work. So I ran a line to one light bulb in the middle of the town square just to prove that it would. I took care of that one bulb in the middle of the town for 20 years, and honestly, people were blown away. At first, I'd give them electricity from sunset to 11 at night. After a while, people got used to it. So I turned it on before sunset so they could do the wash. As soon as the Sun came up, I'd turn it off. I supplied electricity with that little powerhouse from 1911 until 1930. By then, people were believers. I guess it's that way with anything new. It takes a while. Today, electricity is on around the clock. Now even I find that hard to believe. Wonders never cease.
