In Isaiah, it is said to wash oneself and put away evil, seek justice, and defend the fatherless and widow. The Lord offers forgiveness and blessings for those who are willing and obedient, but warns of consequences for those who refuse. A child will be born, called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. This child's government and peace will have no end. The burdens and yokes of the people will be taken away. The spirit of the Lord will rest upon him, giving him wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and fear of the Lord. God is our salvation, and we should praise and declare his deeds. He will destroy death and wipe away tears, bringing salvation and joy. Strengthen the weak and fearful, for God will come to save. The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the lame will walk, and the dumb will sing. The desert will bloom, and a highway of holiness will be Isaiah 1 and 16, wash yourselves, make yourselves clean, put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good. Seek justice and rebuke the oppressor. Defend the fatherless and plead for the widow. Calm now and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land. But if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Isaiah 9 and 6, for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace, there will be no end. Unto the throne of David and over his kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice. From that time forward, even forever, the zeal of the Lord and of hope will perform this. Isaiah 10 and 27, it shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing. Isaiah 11 and 2, the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. Isaiah 12 verses 2 through 6, Behold, God is my salvation, I will not be afraid. For Jehovah the Lord is my strength and song. He also has become my salvation. Therefore, with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his deeds among the people. Make mention that his name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for he has done excellent things. This is known in all the earth. Cry out and help, O inhabitants of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst. Isaiah 25 verses 7 through 9, And he will destroy on this mountain the surface of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all their faces. The rebuke of his people he will take away from all the earth. For the Lord has spoken, and it will be said in that day, Behold, this is our God. We have waited for him, and he will save us. This is the Lord. We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Isaiah 35 verses 3 through 10, Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful hearted, Be strong and do not fear. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert. The parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water. The habitation of jackals, where each lay, there shall be grass with reeds and brushes. A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the highway of holiness. Isaiah 40 verses 28 through 31, Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, never faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youth shall faint and be wearied, and the young men shall utterly fall. But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.
