Real Works Arts is a youth arts charity in Northern Ireland. In this episode, they are joined by Lee Smithy, a Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies. Lee and his research assistant, Harrison, study wall murals and memorials in West Elthaf on the Shankill Road. Welcome to the Creative Works Podcast from Real Works Arts. I am Robin Gates, the Creative Influencer here in Real Works Arts, and your host for today's episode. Real Works Arts is a leading youth arts charity in Northern Ireland that has been working and engaging with young children using arts since 1995. Today we are joined by Lee Smithy, a Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies, who specialises in non-violent social movements and conflicts, with particular attention to Northern Ireland. I'm Harrison Kim, Lee's Research Assistant. Through the Mural Mapping Project, Lee and Harrison study the changing symbolic landscape represented in wall murals and memorials on the streets of West Elthaf on the Shankill Road. Thank you both so much for joining us today. Thanks for having us.
