A person assures Nico that their wish has been granted and they don't fear death as long as the person is there at the end. They have a skull and a mask for protection and they are both watching Grey's castle, expecting something bad. Nico apologizes for letting Jasper lie and not telling the person sooner. The person assures Nico that it doesn't matter and Nico explains that they decided to save the person because they were like family to them. When I opened my eyes, Nico stared at me. All done, I assured him. Wish granted. He smiled weakly. I don't fear death if you're the one who will be there at the end. Thanks, I sat under my breath and ran my fingers over the skull. The mask sat next to me on the stairs where I could have it within sight. I could quickly put it on if needed. Grey's castle loomed in the distance, half hidden by fog, its black flags flapping in the winter wind. We both watched it, expecting the worst.
