Against Jovinianus

"Against Jovinianus" is a work by Saint Jerome that refutes the opinions of Jovinianus, a writer who believed that being a virgin is no better than being married, that abstaining from food is not superior to eating, that a baptized person cannot sin, that all sins are equal, and that there is only one level of reward and punishment in the afterlife. Jovinianus also believed that Jesus' birth was natural, rather than miraculous. Jerome argues against these beliefs and defends the traditional Christian teachings on these topics."
