Lao Tzu, a sage from ancient China, wrote the Tao Te Ching, which has complex teachings. According to Mantok Chia, our upper mind, responsible for thinking and planning, uses up to 80% of our energy. To achieve limitless energy, we need to relax and store up energy. By turning off the upper mind and using the lower and middle centers of awareness, we can conserve energy. Lao Tzu lived in China around 400 B.C. He was a sage, and one day he hops in the back of an ox and decides to help him leave China, and he arrives at the border when a man named Yingzi recognizes him as a sage and pleads with him to impart with them his wisdom, some of his universal insights, so that they may know the great teachings of Lao Tzu. He wrote the Tao Te Ching, which is too complicated for me, so I've read the secret to the Tao Te Ching, and here's what I got, written by a man named Mantok Chia. Basically, there's the upper mind, which is the analytical mind, which is responsible for thinking and planning, but when this mind becomes restless with excessive mental activity and worrying and thinking, it drains the entire system of energy. Mantok Chia says, the upper mind works practically all the time, stirring up the emotions and using up to 80% of the energy in our body, so we should train the upper mind to be relaxed and to just observe, when we do not need to be involved in specific mental activity. In other words, most of our energy is being burned up as we are flooring it, and all of our fuel is being drained by our senseless worrying, and a lot of times, we're completely ignorant to this. You might not even know it, but take a moment to reflect on what could be using your mental energy. Maybe it's homework, maybe it's calls from work, maybe it's a hectic workplace, dramatic home life, family marital disputes, whatever it is, right? So, in order to live our lives full of energy, in order to achieve limitless energy, you need to relax and store up energy. Because when we relax, a magical thing happens. Our brain begins to repair itself by growing and repairing brain cells, okay? This is the reason that Taoism insists... So, how do we turn off the upper mind and release it, and use the lower Tan Tien, and the middle Tan Tien, as it's called in the Tao Te Ching, for... So, how do we turn off the upper mind and release it, so that we're not burning up energy with our thinking? It's kind of like meditation, okay? We use the lower centers of our awareness, called the lower Tan Tien, and the middle Tan Tien, and the Tao Te Ching, for our thinking, instead of thinking. And if you want to learn more about this, how to... And if you want to learn more about this, the actual practices and in-depth explanation, check out some of my stuff on YouTube.
