Lastly, the speaker emphasizes the importance of connecting with loved ones and expressing gratitude. Overall, the speaker encourages self-care, taking risks, disconnecting from technology, and nurturing relationships. Good afternoon everyone, I hope you're having a great weekend and enjoying your Sunday. It's a cold and windy and rainy day here in Beirut and I'm just here getting ready for the week and I'm excited just to share with you a few important messages that I think as we head into the new year is important to remember. So the first point that I want to share with you and something that I'm personally working on is to be more kind to yourself this year. You know, and that can mean a lot of different things, right? So negative self-talk, you know, that's something that I was dealing with where, you know, I'd be in a situation or maybe it was a busy work week and I'd reflect back on it and, you know, I'd say, why did I send that email? How could I be so stupid? You know, these words that you're telling yourself can have significant negative impacts and, you know, this is really something that you should stop completely. Also give yourself credit for how far you've come. You're giving it your best. This is something that sometimes we get so sucked up into kind of the day-to-day and work and maybe it's a personal relationship, but, you know, you've accomplished quite a bit so far. So, you know, be proud of that and, you know, look how far you've come and we've faced so much more harder situations. So that's something really important to remember. And I think also treat yourself more. Take care of yourself, whether it's maybe buying yourself even a shirt, a new shirt, buying yourself a new pair of running shoes. You know, a lot of the time, and I do this myself as well, is we're so, like, focused and busy of taking care of other people and maybe it's a loved one or making other people happy, we're not able to focus on ourselves. So you'd be surprised what a small kind gesture to yourself can do in the long run. And then, you know, the next point is something that I think is important, especially as we go into the new year, is to be fearless. And that, to me, is something that my dad always told me and even something that I've always believed was just go for it. For example, maybe there's a new job post you saw for a company you're following that's doing exciting stuff. Apply for it. Maybe a new position in the company that you're working for opened up. Go and apply for it. You know, the worst thing that can happen in these scenarios is you get turned down or they say no, but if you didn't try, you know, you'll never really know for sure. And you know, I'm always a big believer of swinging high and punching above your weight class. So whether it's maybe a client or an executive or CEO in a faraway country where you've always dreamed of working with, send them an email, you know, send them a message, connect with them on LinkedIn. We live in a world where we can reach anyone in any place around the world and if we have a good message and it's something cool we're working on, you might just get a response. So it's really important and, you know, ask for advice. You know, maybe it's getting a mentor. Maybe it's seeking advice for a challenge that you're currently focused in and that to me is something that I struggled with of asking for help when it's needed. And then, you know, the third point that I want to talk about is try to put the phone down a little bit more. This is something especially at night when I'm getting home from work after maybe my workout, you know, we get sucked and glued into these kind of doom scrolling, you know, we're looking at stories, we get stuck into these places and I'm guilty for sure of this. So this is something I'm trying to reduce going forward and, you know, for us it's writing more. It's reading more. You know, I just bought a journal recently that I'm going to start journaling my thoughts and some of the challenges I'm facing and, you know, you'd be surprised in this monkey mind we have, sometimes, you know, it's hard to process all that until we write it down and then we can actually look and see what we're writing and think about what we're writing. So it's very powerful indeed. The last thing is just connect with people. Call mom. You know, call dad. You know, call your grandmother, your grandfather, your aunt. Maybe it's a friend you haven't talked to in a long time. Or even an old colleague or boss. You know, see how they're doing. Make them smile. You know, surprise them. You know, we're in a world where we just get stuck in autopilot and sometimes we just need a reminder of, you know, from someone or a sign to give them. So, you know, for me, every time I connect with either a family member or a friend, it just makes you appreciate, you know, how far you've come and, you know, where they helped you in your life. So, anyways, I'm going to leave you guys with that. I wish you guys a great rest of the weekend and, of course, a great week ahead, all right? We'll talk soon. Cheers, guys.
