The hosts of the podcast are excited to share a workbook and course with their listeners. They discuss the importance of facing fears and overcoming limiting beliefs in order to achieve success. They share their own experiences and the formula they have developed for achieving goals. They emphasize the need for clarity and taking action, even in the face of fear. The hosts discuss how they have applied these principles in their own lives, such as starting a business and hiring employees. They encourage listeners to embrace change and understand that fear is just a temporary obstacle. So today is going to be a super exciting episode, short and sweet, so make sure you stay to the end because we've got some exciting things working behind the scenes. Like we shared last week, we are building out a workbook and course for our listeners, our friends, our community, and we're super excited to be able to dive deep today. So I've got my co-host here, Ewan Heinemeier. What's up, man? Hey, good to be here, man. Thanks for having me on. So last week, we mentioned that we wanted to give back to the listeners. We've gotten requests. We've had lots of questions, people asking, how do I do this? What do I do here? You know, you being a coach, I'm training to be an Enneagram coach myself, and more and more people are asking us more and more questions. So we thought, man, to give back to the audience, man, the podcast is exploding. We have thousands of downloads, and so we put this together. It's the four hurdles that helps you get through difficult things. Staring all the hard things down in your life, looking at fear and breaking past so that you can achieve things. You know, it's fear that holds you back. So yeah, we thought we'd dig a little deeper into what it is that we put on paper. So we've put the sweat equity, we've put the time, energy, and effort into this. Several hours have went into this, and we're super excited to share it with you guys because what we have for you in this workbook, in this course, is what we've applied in our own lives and from our own experiences. Go slow to go fast. Stare it down. This is going to be terminology. This is going to be language that you're going to hear in the coming episodes and in the future because in order to get things done, take action, and move the needle in your different areas of life, you have to go slow to go fast. Well, Sean, what do you mean by that? That means you have to do the things that you don't want to do. You have to stare it down. You have to take a pen and paper. You have to be in a room with no distractions, and in order to move that needle and to get to where you want to go, which is becoming the best version of yourself, leveling up and living life, stop existing and start living. You're listening to this now, and podcasts are wonderful. My whole life has changed because of podcasts. I listen to the people that I listen to, and they help me move the needle in places that I didn't expect. A lot of the things that have helped me physically, like in my fitness journey and health and wellness, I got them from listening to podcasts. They gave me recommendations. I trusted those people. I know they've been through real things, and it's worked for them. It was their experience that convinced me that, oh, it worked for them. I can tell when someone's faking it and just making something up, written off a chap DVD, or you can get the reality, which me and Sean, we committed to speaking truth, and so this is not just something we made up. This is how we've really lived our lives. When we compare how we've achieved things, we do it in our own way, but the formula is the same. By the end of the day, we had limiting beliefs in certain areas. Let's take one of your many monstrous achievements. You've got your real estate, your businesses, all your championship wins, podiums. You just believed you were going to do it immediately. You didn't have to go through the challenges. You just had to do the trophies. All rainbows and sunshines, yeah. What was the limiting belief for you? That's part of what's going to be in these four hurdles that stop people is we're just going to do a little breakdown of how you know we're telling the truth, right? We need to just make this up. Sean, what was one of the experiences for you that you created this formula off of? Yeah, so when I first was terminated from State Farm back in 2015, I had my back up against the wall. I had a choice to make. I could continue on this path of working for somebody or I can go open up my own thing and create my own destiny. To a certain degree, there was a limiting belief there. I've never done anything on my own. I've never started a business. I've never had employees. I've never had all eyes on me. It's always been about building somebody else's dream or building somebody else's business. To a certain degree, there was a limiting belief because I'd never... You were new to start your own insurance agency, right? Exactly. How do you know you're going to actually pull this off? That's right. You hadn't done that yet, right? So how could you have the identity of someone that has done it? You didn't, right? So how did you get it? That's right. By being able to stare it down and break these things down and that's when I say, hey, we've got years of experience, of mistakes, of failures all wrapped up in this course that we're excited to bring to you. It is what I have applied in my own life and I know Yun has applied in his life and we're continuing to be able to work on this in the near future. We're going to still apply this because we're going to have the limiting beliefs still pop up to this day even though you see the successes, you see the greatness, you see these things that we're doing in our lives. As you level up, you're always going to have. We were just talking about this before the broadcast, right? This formula, we still use it today. There's still really big things that we want to do and we still have to face the limiting beliefs but we know that that's just a stage. We don't let it stop us. That's right. We know now that this is just a moment in time that can be vanquished or I can achieve it and we do that by the next kind of thing and that's four hurdles is getting clarity. You have to know what it is that you want. You've got limiting beliefs and you've got to know how do you get it? What does it look like? What is the clarity? How do you get clarity then on your insurance? For the transition into the insurance, once I was able to address those limiting beliefs and I started putting one foot in front of the other and I started taking action and staring it down, then there came a lack of clarity, right? Like, okay, what are the next directions? One of the things that helped me was to stare it down, to take the time, energy, and effort to become clear on what it is that I wanted and have a clear understanding on where I was going. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. However, I was able to take pen and paper, come up with goals, come up with the, at the time, destination. Now it's about the journey but the destination. That was a start. That was a foundation for me to get to where I wanted to go in building the insurance business. And that's just when the fun starts, right? That's right. Once you have clarity, you've got all the fear of not taking action on the clarity that you have. Yes. No fear or some fear. You just mentioned there was. How do you handle that? The beautiful thing is, just a dovetail off of that, we're just talking about building a business. This could be any area of life. This could be finances, fitness, health and wellness, in these different, how you do one thing is how you do everything. So, yes, having the clarity and having the clear understanding on where it is that you want to go and who you need to become by staring it down, oh, watch out. You become an unstoppable force. And you seem to realize, like, when I stop drinking, I rarely drink. I might have a drink every now and again. But I remember my younger years, I used to drink more and I have fun, social anxiety, whatever. And I've had to think about it. I didn't want to drink anymore because it made me feel terrible. And I don't believe that you can have big, big success while getting drunk. You just can't do it. Agreed. Agreed. As far as my relationship with God, that's one of the main reasons I stopped. But the other thing was, like, I'm afraid I'm going to lose all my friends. I don't know if I can stop, right? That's just what I've always done. I don't know if I have friends. But really, I had to get clear on what I really wanted, right? And then the game plan of, okay, I'm going to have to accept that this is going to be the change and just go ahead and do it, right? And the fear of losing my friends to the point of realizing it's my new identity, right? And I just never applied it to that before until now. I'm just realizing it's kind of the same thing. I'm talking about a personality, character, habit thing, and you're talking about going into business, but it works exactly the same. How you felt handled the fear for the business. For me, it was fear of change. It was always all eyes on me. I was a solo operator when I first started the insurance business, as most business owners and entrepreneurs is they start off by themselves, right? And so the first 12 months, when I gained my clarity that I wanted to, one of my goals was to hire, once I got to a certain income, I wanted to hire my first employee. And I had never hired an employee. And so that was, to me, a big fear of change. Like, okay, I'm going from solo operator. I know what my income is coming in. I know what my expense is. But when I hire this employee, now I have got to serve and impact and make sure I keep this employee. So changing from solo operator to now leader and working with this employee and being the leader, it was an unknown. It was an unknown territory for me. And, yeah, so it was out of my comfort. It was out of my element. You hired a lot more people. Yeah, over that. Oh, yeah. You were over that fear. And, of course, there's more fears to come. But then you had to… But I applied the same thing. So, okay, so break that down, right? And, again, this is why this is so valuable as far as what we're talking about. So hiring an employee, so there was a limiting – there was a fear of change for hiring my first employee. And then the limiting beliefs became. Lack of clarity became. It was just a repeat process. It's the same thing. How you do one thing is how you do everything, whether you're hiring an employee, your finances, your health, your fitness, working out, starting a podcast. You're going to have the limiting beliefs. We all do. We're human beings. You're going to have a lack of clarity. And then in this situation, it was the fear of changing, of bringing on another employee. So I just applied that same process. And it allowed me to, okay, cool, once I got that employee, like Ewan said, now what's next, right? And then we ended up with, I think, 10 people within 18 months. Seven figure business. Yeah. Off of this formula. Yes. And you weren't just done there as you leveled up. Like your old identity, is it not always just screaming to pull you back down until you can really just stop that old identity and evaporate it, right? Because you've been open about it before. You hadn't been the boss you wanted to be. You said you were a horrible boss at one point, and that wasn't accessible to you. And so you had to say goodbye to your old identity, ego, and so you had to create all the success. And, yeah, getting rid of that past baggage. You did that. So you're not done after you've faced the fear. And, yeah, it's just the, and I've seen you do that over and over again with multiple businesses that you've built. Yeah, the past baggage definitely crept back up. And at this point, you're at this key ingredient of the formula is you're going to face that past baggage. And for me, all these things, these unresolved past experiences, traumas, regrets, stuff like that that had happened in my business, for me, I looked at it as a point from, okay, I've got this past baggage, and I'm going to use this as leverage, right? And so for me at that point, it was existing. I was existing with everything that was going on in the business and in my life. And, however, I'm going to put a different meaning to it with this past baggage, and I'm going to use it as leverage and ask myself, who do I need to become, whether it was a husband or a leader or a friend, and play off of that. Yeah, man, I love this. So you know where you get this download? It's in the notes, the show notes. So there is a PDF, and there's step-by-step questions in there for each day. It's a four-day deal. Each day is a hurdle that you need to overcome to begin your process to get to where you want to go. And so I strongly encourage you to download it so that you can work through it and have similar successes. It would be so easy to not do this. And if you don't take it seriously or if it's not something you're going to follow through on, it's not going to work. But if you follow this, this is the formula. People want the magic pill. I know I wanted it forever. And it just doesn't come until you, like Sean said, it starts to slow down and to go fast. If you're not willing to fill out some things on some paper, you're not ready to have what it is you think you want. You would lose it quickly because even if you did get it, you've not leveled yourself up. You've not stared down the fears, the demons in your life. They will come take everything from you. You might get it, but holding on to it is a whole different story. You literally have to change the person. And that's what this is, the beginning of changing as a person. And there's unfortunately no other way. The slow way is the fast way. And I've applied this to so many different things, like my belief in my fitness capabilities, my fitness. And I'm in medical sales. I was in other sales before that. And each time, you know, it was the limiting beliefs, right? Like who am I to go speak to this person that, you know, a doctor or a C-suite person. They're super accomplished, very intelligent, older than me. Who am I to talk to them? I've had to use this formula to break through that, the fears. I'd have to get clear on what it is that I want to do, what I want to have, the outcome that I want. I've got to get clear on that. If I'm not clear, you're not pushing through. And as far as, once you have that, you've got to get a game plan together. If you don't have a game plan together, how long are you going to pull this off? You've got to have some kind of, something to fall back on. What's the next step? If this happens, then I'm ready for this. If that happens, then I move forward. And then overcoming the fear, right? This is the most important part in my mind, the constant conversation in your own head. That little voice that, oh, you might get burnt if you do that, and that's dangerous, don't do it. And then you distract yourself, cell phone, movies, food, whatever it is. And then you look up and you're like, why have I not done this thing yet? It's mind-boggling how there's so many simple things even that we don't do. Is your laundry all folded? Why not? There's a fear behind that. Is the dishes done? I'm telling you, there's a fear. You're distracting yourself from doing it. How do I know this? Because I am that guy. I am everything we're talking about, and there's only one way to get through that, and that is changing yourself as your character, your personality. And your identity, your old identity, will probably always be there, but you can definitely minimize that past person that couldn't do it, and you can say goodbye to that person. So, yeah, this will be in the show notes. Download it. It's free. Just got to pop your email in there. It will get mailed to you. It may not be mailed to you. And, yeah, you can start working on it right away. You can do all four days in one go if you want. You know, you can take four days to do it. This is something you use over and over again for all different areas of life. You want to achieve something, staring down the demon, the dragon in your life, you just pull this thing out and do it again. So when you get stuck, lost, you feel like you're existing, pull this worksheet, have it in front of you. All my friends, they make fun of me, you know, and I have. It's so important. I cannot stress it enough to have this in front of you. I don't care if you've got to print it out. I don't care if you've got to write it. He's laughing right now. I'm not laughing anymore. I'll tell you that because it is one of the – it's so simple. It is so simple to write down your goals. And I am not the kind of person that likes to do it. I just don't like it. But Sean has done it, and I've seen it work for him. And I would be lying if I say it doesn't help me. If I write down the goal, at least there's something there, some kind of blueprint that's out of my brain, onto the paper. So I'm not laughing anymore. I do it now, and it really, really helps. It just is going to elevate you in all kinds of ways. So, yeah, you'll laugh until you get the result, and then you're like, Ooh, that worked. And I've had a lot of – over this, in 2023, in coaching, a lot of my coaching clients and coaches, I've got a lot of positive feedback when they've actually – they told me, they're like, Sean, we're going to be completely transparent with you. Like, we did not want to do this. Right? And that's probably you listening to this like, Oh, my gosh, another worksheet, another exercise. I don't want to do this. Right? Because it's out of what you're familiar with. It's out of your comforting zone. And so when they came back and they said, You know what? Once we sat down and did it, printed it out, took a pen and paper, no distractions, blocked off 30 minutes, because 30 minutes is worth it to you, right, in your life to excel and level up and live, right, in all these different areas of life. They came back to me and they said – they started laughing because it was so simple and it was so easy to comprehend and break down once you put a pen and paper, spend the time. Because where focus goes, energy flows, right? Because if you're doing 15 other things, you're focused on other priorities versus leveling up and focusing on what really matters, which is what we're talking about here. Limiting beliefs, lack of clarity, fear of change, past baggage. This formula, these key ingredients, when you put pen and paper for your own life, watch it level up so you can get out of that stop existing, start living stage and apply it in all areas of life. Then your friends and family are going to come to you and they're going to ask, what are you doing differently? Because that's exactly what happened to my coaches. They're like, what are you doing? Who are you talking to? What's going on? What are you investing in? You just become – that process of becoming the better version of yourself. We were concerned that we were – well, one of my concerns, I don't know if Sean's too, is like, isn't it time that we're trying to sell them on this? This is a free thing. You don't buy it. You don't buy it. Coming across the sales is like, there's nothing wrong with sales, but coming across the sales, you're trying to make someone – you don't have to get this. We're not saying you have to. Don't get it. If you don't want it, then you don't have to use it. But this is something I would give to my son. I'm giving it to my son and my daughter. They're 8 and 10, and this is something they're going to be working through this from 8 and 10. I wish I had this from their age because it's just a formula, a blueprint that works, right? It's worked for us. Again, this is something to give back to the audience. We haven't really done anything for them. We've just gotten so much support, so we're just so grateful. Yeah, so this is totally optional and free to get. So if you want to do something, you're like, do a shop and download it. Yeah, we'd love some feedback too. Message us on Facebook or text us, call us, whatever. Yeah, we'd love to hear from you. So one of the things that I'll, and we'll wrap this up, is all my thoughts is that we provide all this free value, this content, right, because that's what we both believe that we're put on this earth to do. And whether you follow us on Facebook, Instagram, any of the social media platforms, podcasts, we're just here to try to serve, impact, and provide as many tips, tricks, strategies. But at the end of the day, what we've learned from helping individuals and the ones that have actually leveled up and living life and making progress, is they're the ones that's doing the work behind the scenes. That's the only difference is they're the ones actually, everything that we just said, you don't have to do it, right? But the guy, there is somebody that's listening to this that's in the car next to you that is listening, and they're printing this out, they're doing exactly what we're talking about because they want to level up and live versus exist. And that's what I've applied in my own life. If you don't download it, analyze why you're not. Do you already know better? I know I've been there so many times. I already know this stuff. Why am I going to do that? Analyze that. That is a fear response. I don't think it's going to work for me. Many times in my life, I don't think this is going to work, so I'm not going to bother. I've heard it before. It didn't help me out. So this is designed to get you past that. Literally, if you think you're the person to delete it, that's probably the best thing to do. I'm almost done. I'm not done. No, I am. I'm getting out of myself. That's what I needed when I was 30. I wanted someone like me to help me out. That's where this whole thing came from, was me and you. We figured these things out on our own. We had our mentors. We didn't have this blueprint. It was simple, but it took energy. It took effort. Behind the scenes, like you said, that is what's important. It's so easy to not do it. If you know you're the person that's not doing it, then take another look and try it one more time to do the work behind the scenes. Reach out to us. We would love to help. That's the last thing I'm going to say. There you have it. Go download it in the show notes. Click on the link. Any feedback that you have for us, reach out to us on our social media platforms. Without further ado, level up and live, baby. Have a great day. Let's go.
