I'm your host, Shaylee Reeder, and I'm very excited for this new project. It is poetry in an audio format in a poetry out loud type setting. A little history about me, I have been writing poetry for the last 15 years, since I was in the ninth grade. I have written and self-published a book called Her Voices, which is on sale at barnesandnoble.com as well as lulu.com. I took a brief break from poetry in 2014 to serve an LDS mission in the Philippines and came home in 2016. Since then, my day job is a registered behavior technician, where I work on shaping positive behaviors in children and adults with behavioral disabilities. I have been working in schools for going on six years now. In my spare time, I write poetry, I write speeches, I paint and I draw, I play guitar and sing very badly, I blog, and now I'm doing this podcast. What interested me in this podcasting project is that I can work on my hobbies in an audio type way, where before I was limited to a pad of paper and a pen. But now the world is getting more digital, and I have the opportunity to exercise my voice by recording it for you to hear and learn and appreciate my poetry. Not every episode will be about poetry, there will be other topics that I can cover, so please stay tuned. I will release a new podcast every week, hopefully for you to enjoy. And please feel free to share my podcast and my poetry as I'm trying to get it out there, not just for me, but for others to really appreciate it. Also, please forgive any mistakes I make, again, I am brand new to the world of podcasting, so I will make mistakes. And bear with me as I try to get my podcast out there on Google Play and Apple Podcasts, and places where it will be a little bit easier to access my podcast. Thank you so much for your support.
