Details

"Lied" is a straightforward musical tribute to melody, which composer Aaron Copland referred to as the heart of music. The melodic tune that I've crafted to be central in my composition is distinctively accompanied by the rhythmic patterns of the Bambuco, a musical form characterized by its syncopation and ternary rhythm, originating from central Colombia, my homeland. This form of music is still commonly performed by local farmers, who continue to sing and dance to it amidst the picturesque landscapes of their mountainous region. Consequently, I've chosen to refer to "Lied" as a simple, melodious, Colombian song. - Al
