Out of Reach

The speaker is deeply infatuated with someone who is no longer available to them. They constantly think about this person and long for their touch and presence. They feel that their love for this person consumes them completely. Unfortunately, the person they love is with someone else, so they can only dream about being with them and hope that their feelings reach them somehow. The ghost of your smile haunts each waking moment, the shadow of your presence lingers in every corner of my mind. This urgent longing for you sweeps throughout my days and nights, for what seems like an eternity, for your kiss I have pined. No other lights my dark and hours as you do, when I invite you into my delirious dreams. Love for you completely possesses my body and soul, as the light from exquisite eyes of cornflower blue beams. My body is starving for the touch of your hands, my ears are deaf but to the sound of your voice. The music in my heart is fading without you, for only in your arms could it ever rejoice. Alas, to me you are far out of reach, for you gifted your heart to another long ago, and I can merely wonder what near farther it would be, if my true love and devotion to you I could show.
