Streptococcus pyogenes can cause severe conditions like impetigo and Streptococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome. Impetigo is a highly contagious rash mainly seen in young children. The syndrome can lead to tissue necrosis and even loss if not treated. The pictures illustrate the contagious rash around the mouth and tissue death in the hands caused by the syndrome. Some interesting facts about Streptococcus pyogenes is that it can cause something as severe as infatigo, which is a rash that is incredibly contagious on the surface of your skin and is mainly contracted by young children. It can also cause Streptococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome, which is a blood infection that can cause tissue necrosis, which is tissue death, and extremally loss if left untreated.
