Coach Era's podcast discusses the Shubaruka Tournament and the coach's announcement to rest starters in order to give others game day experience. It's important to support the team and focus on individual growth. The speaker understands this and shares personal experiences of being a bench player. They emphasize the need to work hard, be supportive, and maintain a positive mindset. The speaker also addresses the issue of players putting their heads down when the offense doesn't perform well, emphasizing the importance of staying supportive and not accepting defeat. Welcome back to Coach Era's Podcast. I'm your host Tony and today we'll be talking about the Shubaruka Tournament and also addressing a few things I want to talk about the team and about coach and also got tickets to a sponsor that's Bubba Bae's little Tokyo location station, Rest Department, and Spokoma. Alright, let's get started guys. So for what coach, post an online group or pretty much the Crusaders football group and this is what he said. Hello team. I am making an announcement now so that we are all in the same page for Shibuya. Day one we plan to rest some if not most of the starters on both offense and defense. This is in order to provide a game day experience to those who have some to none. It's not easy to say for anyone especially starters captains to set aside in the pride that they have in their own abilities as pride for the team and teammates and not play. But for the betterment of the team overall this is the direction we're going for the single tournament knowing the expectation is still excellence in preparation and execution and playing to win. We ask for everyone to continue support of this team's name but more importantly for each individual's growth as a player and a man. Actually a woman coach. Just kidding. We are here to lift each other up and rather you're supporting from the sound lines or playing on the field. This does not change yet even with this with that said to be more clear. It does not mean anyone would get an opportunity or play in time but with playing to win. Our overall approach would not change depending on matchups, offensive defense, knowledge or depending ability and trust built. This is that just factored in knowing that they know who's going in and who's not going in. But if there's any questions feel free to reach out to coach and to the captains. So to overall to recap about that about that one post like coach Aaron made it makes sense to me honestly. There are some times where I want to play too you know there's some but there's some games where I know that if they want the best player in that position during that game I understand that. No misunderstanding you know I mean it's like when we went up against tier one it was a team that we had to beat you know it's a rival game between two Wisconsin's right. And throughout the whole entire game they had only these stars in there and the second string you know I think the only guy that was subbed in is Alex. Alex Nguyen for the defensive nose tackle and that was pretty much it. When you look at the corners too there's some times basically we get subbed out but not as always much. Sorry that's a burp. But you know for offense you know Bobby comes out and then here comes you know Adam comes in or Robby comes in for Elijah or even Jared comes in for AK you know so those are the things that I know those guys are the second string players. For us like me for example I'm the third string guy. I'm right behind Timmy depending who I'm at or Bob or Billy too and it's not that I don't really give a crap it's because you know what my team this is my team this is my family I have to support these guys from the ground to the sky you know what I mean. So it's not always about oh I want playing time and there's times I see some kids who are younger than me though they want to play in time. I understand that but please understand that this is going to be a game where it's going to be personal right and then when you get to now but we lost to tier one we faced against unknown we beat them you know no problem and that's when we were winning by two touchdowns or more during the second half you know because at this point okay defense do not let up stay steady and we're going to start our bench guys right and I got in there and I did my thing that's the thing that when you play when you have the opportunity or the chance to get in there you have to show that you are the mad dog titan you know don't be showing some nervousness or something like oh you know I'm just here because you know I'm just playing now. No you gotta have the expectation or the mindset of being a tiger don't don't be a little puppy dog and not all barbed but can't do nothing you know what I mean. So I'm not trying to discredit you guys or trying to you know make you guys feel bad of yourself I'm just saying as a match perspective because I box I fought people before I I know how to fight people and when when you get into the ring there's there's no such thing as being humble you know unless is it it's it's aspiring session then fine go ahead but if it's good and you're in the ring you have to show that you are the you are him you are the bad dog so for football it's the same mindset I know that some players out there are bench players and that's okay you just have to work on yourself be stronger get better go to the gym and work on yourself and that's what I've been doing every single day you know and even if you know I stay away from football I go into my boxing stuff you know like to kind of keep my mind free of what I love doing so for those guys out there who are asking for playing time who are desperately want to get in there don't do not rush yourself in there what if what if right you get in there you make multiple mistakes it's okay to make mistakes I'm not saying it's not okay but when you make those mistakes and when when people start seeing that they're not going to put you in the more because all those mistakes you keep making so like I say you come to practice you come in and you day in day out or one day out the whole entire week come to practice play hard and and work hard as much as you can and guys look at me I'm only 25 I'm still young I'm still I'm still literally in my prime of being a I guess you could say athletic guy I guess you could say you know and you're in your 30s you know I understand you look a little bit older but not not too old but I know that the way how Tyler sees me and when he told me he told you go in he knows I'm hungry he knows that I want it so he's going to take the opportunity can I give me that so hey here's your chance go get go get it get in there and throughout the whole entire game I told myself you know I I like I said in the last podcast episode I closed my eyes and I told myself okay this is my time my time is now I have to I had to be that guy there's no such thing as I'm gonna hold back I'm gonna stay back no it's all about hey have that mentality of a bad dog make sense right kind of make sense if not oh well that's fine but that's why I had to kind of recover of what coach has said and now going to the addressing the part that I kind of don't really like um let's guess sticky rice have hidden halftime and Mark actually made a comment about this heading into halftime we're all we're all holding together and he he made this small speech saying the game's not over yet it's zero zero zero of course and he said this word that really hit me hit me kind of you know hard he told everyone there are some people in the group in our team every time the office does not make it play there they put their head down meaning that oh you did the office disappointed us mark was going to call out some of our players of putting their head down just because tommy does not make a touchdown or elijah does not get a catch or whoever's office is not getting you know receptions or rushing us receiving yards why you guys put your hand does for i'm calling out to the guys who are literally on the sidelines not not that's not not the starters not the captains i'm talking about the bench players definitely for the young guys i understand you are looking forward to win games i know that but what i learned from playing with this team when i went to when i went to go play with them in memoria day i put my head down the one time and coach told me don't do that you're not in there you're in there i understand but you're not in there you need to show support to your team to your family here to your brothers here and to those young guys we don't need to pour our head down keep your head up that's all i keep saying do not let up when you when you keep your head down you're pretty much you're pretty much accepting defeat or you're accepting you're accepting the fact that oh you guys could have made a better play no have the mindset of being supportive if i know tommy is struggling i'll go out to him what's going on like what what is what what is that defense giving you this package or it's like a kibbe spy or whatever it gets me be it's all about being supportive it's not always about you it's not always about oh man my head's down uh this team man come on man coach put me in if you want to go in there the kids and sit in if you made it you made a bad play and then for us you make you make a bad play we would definitely not pour a hand down for you why because that's not how we roll that's not how crusaders do and the captains are always putting their heads up and mark is not even a captain and that's the that's my point mark is a guy that i love talking with he's an amazing guy that that i enjoy playing with too and he understands as a father's perspective as even like yeah it keeps together and now he's a dad to the to the young guys who are playing right now he's a dad i am a dad too i support my kids whatever they want to do their time they they support me sometimes but guess what they're only two my son is only eight months eight months three old and do i look down doesn't know why why would i all i can do now is support them and tell them not to do this and not to do that that's all i can do but later on when they grow up now i can kind of show them hey this is how life is when you keep your head down you will look down to depression negativity will come to you keep your heads up look on forward take the next step and work on yourself that's the point of the whole entire episode today is about so if i'm calling you guys out right now it's because i want you guys to be better and everyone here wants to be better if all the characters in here wants to be better everyone here wants you to have a better decisions of what you do on the field on the sidelines or anywhere else and i know that not everyone here doesn't have a voice i know i understand that i know everyone here doesn't really say much and that's okay but this is this is the reason why i made this podcast for the team so i can talk to you guys about what like for example like if i could talk to you guys about you know more about football outside of you know like multi football you know i mean so it's all about talking to you guys and reaching out to every single one of you and if you guys want me to list those kids down or put an ad down i can but those who but those who does not oh man i could give you a ton list who on the team of the guys who would never put their head down john would never put his head down told me i would never put his head down mark jamar elijah aka aka uh black guy aka i can list all these guys off and the only guys are putting hand downs is the one who are not playing the bench people so instead of putting your hand down guys like i said keep your head up support your brothers support your family support this team and if you can't understand that then maybe it's best for you to go play with a new team and don't be surprised if you make a mistake they bench you because of what you did of what you haven't accomplished to what they want you to do but at the end of the day we are still brothers we are still a family we're still a team so just be mindful of what you do here and here now on the field or off the field be supportive and that's all we ask for i'm moving on next to for sheboygan i know sheboygan is a small tournament and i think possibility there will be at least it'll be a good 18th maybe i don't know i'm not sure for the girls probably like four five depending um i think i think we're still waiting for the schedule to come out today or i think like today around eight o'clock from what everyone's been telling me so for now you know for us whoever we go against with on day one for sure we're gonna play two games for sure for us guys for the bench players be ready you know stay steady don't don't be don't be complacent what coach has been always saying to us in practice you know be be ready you know don't don't let up have the mindset of the game's not done yet until the voice is blown or the game is over so for us you know i if if i i'm pretty sure tommy will start for sure for quarterback um most likely elijah will sit out maybe sit out for the first half or maybe second half depending and so same same with ak same way with mong same with our online with tyler and uh austin and never pretty much everyone else everyone else on our starting lineup so if i have the chance to get in there today tomorrow no that's tomorrow i'm going tomorrow tomorrow i'll be there saturday uh saturday if coach puts me in i'm going in i'm gonna kill those motherfuckers i'm gonna get in there you know same with me me and billy and also with timmy too you know we don't give a shit about who's gonna be in front of us you know we we love to get the quarterback and i told myself i want that sack baby give me that sack you know but um but yeah i practiced i was in there for practice i hope you guys did well i practiced i was in madison for a wedding for one of my cousin and i know coach wasn't there either but you know i heard you guys had amazing practice also with the girls too team shadow shout out to them too but hopefully you guys did make some plans executed and make good practice runs pretty much so for now i don't have much to say about sheboygan uh like i said we don't i don't really have this schedule until later if if it comes out i'll make another episode uh tonight if i can but as i know my brothers you know i i love everyone here i love everyone who supports this team i love everyone who wants to play for this team you know just because we make you know we lost in j4 i think we got sixth place or fifth place does not mean that you know we are not better you know we still have a ceiling that we can still reach for you know this guy is the limit for us you know whatever we put in the air you know we just had to be able to catch it you know so to my brother and to my sisters for supporting us right now thank you so much you know i just want to be grateful to this team and be grateful for what i've done for everyone here and i know we have about two tournaments left which is next week in wasa and then one in milwaukee for what i know but if i'm wrong i'm wrong but i can't believe that you know playing with this team for a full year you know it means a lot and they they've shown me that family means a lot to them they show me that they they love everyone here everyone here it's all pretty much bromance you know i mean but i just want to give my gratitude to coach aaron for giving me the opportunity to come play with his team and also chon and tomay and alijah for those guys that also gave me an opportunity to get to know them too you know and also ap so thank you guys so much for everything you've done for me i think we need you for you guys so allow me to make a podcast about you guys so this is a fun year for me to kind of get out there with you guys to get on the field and really show my love my compassion for me and for you guys so thank you guys for tuning in i'm your host tony until next time guys i'll see you guys in the next one
