Welcome back to Team Pistachios, I'm your host Tony, and today we're talking about preparations for July 4th. I know I just posted the episode, it's literally today, I went out of my plan to be ahead of my time schedule here, but, and also, thank you to our sponsors, Mbappo Bay, Little Tokyo, Asian Taste, Rick the Barber, and Vekoma. To continue on what this episode is today, is, you know, I saw the Bonfire Football post, and I got a notification from my team, and there was a lot of doubts of our team. You know what, that's okay, no problem, no problem at all. All we're going to do is prep, all we're going to do is show up, and not just that, we're going to execute. I've watched a lot of Super Bowl stories with other teams, like you can say Baltimore, the Niners, the Packers, you can say the Patriots, or the Eagles, the Saints, Denver Broncos, you can name all those teams. What does all those teams have in common? Preparation. Execution. Remember those two words, you prep, and you execute. You have a plan, you make it happen. You make a plan, you make sure that everyone understands this is a game plan, this is what we have to do. And I was texting with Coach, Coach Aaron on my Facebook, and I asked him, hey, should I make a podcast episode about the team doubting us, and he said, no, that would not be necessary. The best way to really come at it is just to prepare yourself, you know. And here's what he said, I'm going to be as, you know, very hyped up as possible, right. On another note, I usually don't pay attention to these things like this, however, use this as a fucking fuel within our team. Just like last year, when we bust their ass, and they doubted us, if nothing drives you and us to be a better team overall, then maybe another sport is for you. Focus for J4. I quote, I quote to what Coach said, and it's amazing that Coach, that he has a mindset of don't fall for these tricks, you know, don't fall for their games. What they're trying to do is make you feel fueled up and get angry or whatever it is, right. And usually that's how trash-talking goes, until the result is proven on the field, then at that point, they can't talk trash to you no more, right. But a perfect example, like boxing, it's a perfect example. In my experience, I have a lot of people talking trash at me. They want to fight me because they believe that they can kick my ass, they believe that I'm not good enough, and guess what happens? They don't want to fight me because they know that I've been training so much in my life for since my freshman year in high school until I hit, I was like 20. And if you want to fight me, and I've been training for so many years, and you have been training your whole entire life, yeah, you fight in the basement with your brothers or your cousins or your friends, right. But yet, have you actually done any actual training? Maybe you did, maybe you didn't, I don't know, I don't care. I don't care how long you trained, I don't care how good you are, if you cannot prove yourself in the ring, then what is your excuse of the results that you said that you could kick my ass? It's the same thing with football. It's the same thing about, if so many people are doubting us as a team, that's fine, you know, and when we show up, and when we execute our plan, and then now no one can not say anything at all. So that's the reason why I wanted to make this podcast today, because, you know, talking about this really gets me hyped up. Talking about this makes me really want to get, like, play better, you know, get stronger. I am getting fully healed, as in my left hand, my left wrist. I hurt my left wrist about two, three months ago, before the month that I started, I injured it and it was never the same, and it took two to three months to heal, and it sucks being, you know, injured, hurt with my left hand. And I try to get back on the field, I truly try to really, you know, like, cover it up, and endure the pain, but every time I do, it hurts a lot. But now my pain is going away, and guess what? That means that I can now get back into the position that I want to play in, as in, like, defensive edge, wide receiver, tight end, or whatever, and I feel like playing. So whenever I caught the ball from Tommy, my left hand hurts a lot, you know, so coming back from injury, getting back, you know, with the guys, it's going to be intense. So for the guys who are listening right now, my team, my brothers, we have to stay focused. Have the eye of the tiger, have the dedication, have the motivation to get better. I know AAP has done this to us so many times, he has been motivating us so many times, but now we need another voice. I understand that there are some young people out there, they don't know how to motivate other people, they don't know what to say, and that's okay, and having these kind of guys like AAP, Austin, having Tyler there, having Chong, and pretty much all the captains, like I said, in the last episode, I talked about who are the captains, right? So this is what we need to do. Stay motivated, stay focused, and stay locked in. That is what we have to do. So when coming practice this Sunday, at noon, bring your A game, there's no 50%, there's no such thing as 40% or 10%, there is only 110%. I understand, and you're a starter, you don't want to get hurt, I understand that, but for the bench players who want the playing time, get out there and be 110%. The reason why I'm saying this right now, because I love you guys with all my heart, I love you guys so much, and this is what we have to do, this is what we have to focus on. Like Coach Aaron, I know there are times where he's with the girls, and that's okay, that's fine, but to me, myself, as a person, if you're not motivated to play with us, don't be bothered showing up. Because there are times where I know some guys who are really lazy, and they just show what they show up, and they don't want to go out loud or whatever. Like Coach said, if nothing drives you, and us, to be a better team, overall, then maybe this sport is not for you. It's like this, I'm going to use a lot of examples, look at Giannis, when that guy was hurt on the court, I guess, the Hawks, in 2021, the playoff game, the conference finals, he was hurt, and he was on the sideline, motivating all his players, all his team, all his brothers in there, he's motivating every single person, bench or not, or starter, he motivated everyone, and guess what, that got them to a finals game, and won the finals. And that's my point of saying that, when you come to practice, you need to show that you are hardcore, you are motivated, you are dedicated to us, no matter what it is. If you're busy, I understand that, you have your own family, you have your own thing to do, I totally understand that. But when push comes to shove, you better push back to not understand that this is our team, this is our family as one, we must stay together, because if we bend, if we break, it's over. And I know you guys have heard that so many times, the word of bend but don't break, right? So when it comes down to game day, we're going to bend, but we will not break. If you have one stick, you'll break it easy, right? One stick, you put 10 sticks all together, are you going to break that? No, you won't. And that's my point of the whole entire episode today, of the whole entire what I'm trying to get to my players, to my team, and this is what we have to do. And again, one more time, to coach, he made this quote, during practice or after practice, don't be complacent. So thank you guys for tuning in to Rich Dads Podcast. Again, I'm your host, Tony. Until next time, see you guys in the next one. Rich Dads Podcast.
