What's going on, everybody? Welcome back to the Team Nade podcast, episode 21. 16th of April. It's a day late, but we don't care, we ball. Partially my fault, well, it's partially, it is all my fault, but if you've got an issue with it, tell me about it, DM me, tell me that I'm wrong, tell me that I'm bad, but it's a one-off, trust. Joining today, as always, it's Brian here. How are you? I'm good, man. How are you? I'm all right.
I'm knackered, house is taking all my energy. I've been on that fucking home improvement grind, haven't you? Mate, I'm fucking, what was the BBC show that they used to do with all their home improvement stuff? DIY SOS. DIY SOS, that's it. I could only think of Ground Force, bro. Ground Force? Ground Force, but Ground Force was different. Ground Force had that geyser in it. I don't know, but he was like, I can't remember what he was called, but his profile eclipsed that of Ground Force.
And he went on to do something else. It's no... It's not a geyser that does the chase, is it? What, Bradley Walsh? No, that's where Nick Foles was on Ground Force as well, bruv. And there was a big geyser with grey hair. I don't know. It was a spade or something. Was Bradley Walsh on Ground Force? I have no idea, bruv. Because that's who does the chase. I don't think it was Bradley Walsh. I swear it was Nick Foles.
I don't even know what Bradley Walsh does other than the chase, bro. He's just there. He was in Doctor Who. Was he? Yeah, he was one of the sidekicks in Doctor Who when it was a Joey Foster. I smacked that. And they did the female Doctor Who. I haven't watched Doctor Who, I don't know, bruv. Nah, I don't do it. I don't watch it anymore. Stop that Matt Smith when it started getting really complicated. Yeah. I agree.
I don't watch Doctor Who. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's fucking shite, that. Yeah, I agree, man. I have no idea what you're talking about, bruv. Doctor Who, mate. What are you on about? You don't know what I'm talking about. How long have you never watched Doctor Who? What did you watch when you were younger and like TV and that sort of thing? Like 6 o'clock, 7 o'clock time? 6 o'clock, 7 o'clock? Yeah. Can't even mind, you know.
I don't even know. Fuck all that on now, TV's shite. You saw Time Team when I was younger, though. Time Team? Yeah. Nice. Time Team was good, bruv. I can see that only Fools and Horses are, um... Did you... Oh, fuck! British television. Did you ever watch The Krypton Factor? I've never seen The Krypton Factor. Oh, fuck me! Wasn't The Krypton Factor like 1972? Yeah, but they did reruns and then they remade it and it was class.
I don't know, I watched a lot of reruns. Bullseye. Takeshi's Castle. Um... What was his fucking... What was his, um... Bruce Forsythe's Price is Right. Dale Whitten's Supermarket Sweep. Ah, shit, mate. 70s, 80s TV was doted. If you say so, bruv. If you say so. I've stunned you into silence, man, with all these old TV shows. I'm not stunned, I'm just like, I've not seen any of them. So I just don't believe you. What do you mean you don't? Oh, yeah, cos I'm just out here chatting shit.
Sound that, eh, nice one. No dangers, bruv. Crick. What have you been on with this week? Um, what have I been on with this week? I don't even know, bruv, I can't lie. Oh, no, I was trying to get better at Halo. Did you have another coaching session? No, I didn't, because I was, um... I was trying to work on the mechanics a little bit. Oh, OK, like you actually put into practice what you learnt in the last one.
Yeah, yeah, that's the thing, man. I was like, cos literally, I just wanted to just practise that, and I've noticed that, like, towards, like, say, like, the beginning of last week, maybe, like, to Wednesday, I was actively trying, and then I kind of was like, ah, I can do that every now and again when I want to. Like, you know what I mean? And then I just stopped doing it. But at the same time, I don't think I've lost a game in, like, a couple of days.
So, I haven't been playing that much. Last time we played probably was when you lost a game. Yeah, I think it might have been, actually, which was, like, what? Saturday night, Sunday night? Yeah, one of those nights, it was just... I'm off Halo at the moment. But what it is, it's just not vibing with me, you know? Tell you what it is, baby. I know what it is. Yeah? What is it, then? See, you try and play it like COD, and you can't...
Shut up. You can't play it like COD. Obviously, it's a different game. Exactly. But you can play COD like Halo. What's slow? Um, not so much slow, just, like... controlled, you know what I mean? Like, when I went on that, like, massive killstreak today, and got, like, the second ever swarm I've ever had on COD, it was literally just, like, methodical around the map. Like, you know what I mean? Like, get to an area, like, kill this guy, oh, there's a dummy behind me, like, are they gonna respawn over there? Yes, they did.
So, I would kill those guys, and then, like, oh, there's one over there. You know what I mean? And, like, just waiting to move until you have, like, the right time to move, based upon everything that's going on around you. Right. See, I guess. I don't know. Even then, I still play it, like, at 90 mile an hour, because it's just... I feel like if you take that space and are hyper-aggressive, it catches a lot of people off.
But then, if you do come up against somebody who is sitting, waiting, you've got to be on it to win that fight. It's not even sitting, waiting, I don't think, because I died 70 kills in that game. No, no, I'm not saying that you're sitting and waiting. Like, you know, you get the people that just sit and wait at an angle. Oh, yeah, but I mean, you sort that out by just not playing Team Deathmatch. You don't play Team Deathmatch, it's calm.
You don't have people sitting in, like, really weird locations. Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed, because that game, we've suggested Kill Confirmed and Invasion, where anybody died was sitting on Invasion on the sandbags. Do you remember what you said right at the start, bro? No, that was the high-rise. You were like, look at it, it's got nuke potential. That was the high-rise. It didn't. That was the 10v10 high-rise, right? Don't get it twisted. Immediately got sniped off the spawn.
No, that was you. Yeah, I know, that's what I'm saying. You got instantly fucking sniped off the spawn. I just proceeded to go on, like, a six or seven death streak. It was just... Oh, mate, that 10v10s, they just don't work on those maps at all. They're so, so dull. It'd be good on a map like... Mikado. Mikado, yeah, it'd be good on Mikado. Mikado 10v10's good. I think... Like, those maps are, like... The problem with Afghans, though, is you'd have loads of people sniping.
Not as many as you would if it was, like, Wasteland or Derail. Yeah. So, it's like, the 10v10 works on those because they're bigger, but, like, you then run out. No, but it's just like... I don't know, it's like Civil War in it, you know what I mean? It's like, everyone's just, like, stood 20 feet apart with a sniper rifle, like, firing one shot. And then it's like, it's like a volley fire, you know what I mean? Yeah.
It's like some Napoleonic shit. It's boring. But that is just the state of pubs, I suppose. Not everybody wants to play it fast-paced, they just want to play it slow and get the kill that they want, which is incredibly jarring when you come up against it. Anyway, let's move on to Call of Duty news. Yeah, big news in the Call of Duty world today. Yeah, right. So, would you like the news, and then the fixtures, or the results? Or do you want to have the results and fixtures? No, let's do the results, then we'll go.
Do the results, okay. Right, results for last weekend, starting on Friday the 12th of April. Phase 3, ROKR 0. LAG 0, Legion 3. No real big surprises there. ROKR new roster. It's a hard game to come in with a new roster. There's two changes on the roster on that one, which we had Vivid got released, and then Standee joined, and then Gunless also joined, because Awakening was moved down to the bench for ROKR. The Standee pick-off is still...
It still baffles me. I don't get it. I don't get it either. He was dropped from Legion after Major 1, and he's just... I don't know. He was originally on front of Ultra German over 2, dropped from them, joined LA... Joined Legion on that one, and then just never really proceeded to stick on a team long enough. It's like he's the problem. He's the problem child on that team. Was it you that was telling me there was rumours of an attitude issue, or was that something that I read on the internet? I think that's something you read.
I don't remember saying anything about that, but it's probably quite true. I could see it with how many times he's moved from team to team, but... Because it's... I don't know, man. I wonder if he's one of those types of players where it's like, when he's frying, everything's Gucci, but when he's getting slammed, it's everyone else's problem. You know what I mean? I feel like it could be that. That, or he's just lazy in the sense of the work he has to put into it.
Problem in action. Oh, he's joined a Challenger team, I believe. I mean, it's good for him, man. I hope it works out for him. Well, it's got to work out better than Halo. I'm coming back to Halo, comes back to Halo, gets on a team. It was on Native, wasn't it? He was on Native, yeah. And then, before the season starts, he's out because of his attitude. Yeah, he just wasn't really playing Halo that much, apparently.
I think he was in the top 250 for CoD, eh? Wouldn't surprise me. I think he was like, I swear he was getting on, streaming matchmaking for four hours, and then, like, I don't know what he was doing after that. Jesus. Maybe scrimming, to be fair. I imagine he must have been scrimming, but wasn't he always late and stuff, allegedly? Allegedly. None of it's confirmed. No, nothing. We don't have the insides. Yeah, that was rocker. No surprise with FaZe winning that.
LAG versus Legion. I could see it going that way. What did I have in my predictions? I had FaZe win and Legion win, yeah. So, we're a good two out of two to start with. Moving on to Saturday the 13th of April. We had LAG. You won the early kickoff, lad. How do you feel? Class? That's sick, man. Yeah? And the old... the old akka. No, man. Easy. Easy sauce. That's an easy cash-out. It's your £5 steak.
Cash-out for £5 steak. Yeah, see? Oh, thanks. Crush that, you. You picked FaZe to win. Right, for a fiver, we'll give you three quid, because that's just a fucking given. Nice one. We didn't see you, man. Saturday the 4th of April, we had LAG nil, Ultra three. Boston two, Heretics three. New York Subliners three, Rokkr one. So, I predicted Ultra to win. I predicted Boston, so that was a nil on that one. And I picked New York to win.
So, we're four out of five so far. That's not bad. I swear that New York series was pretty good as well. New York series was nice. It was really close, wasn't it? Like, all the way through. I swear they didn't, like, walk away with any map. No, it was quite close. Rokkr, it was a better test for Rokkr with their new roster. It actually gave them a game. It was nice to see just a little bit more fight in them, and it wasn't just a walkover.
Yeah, for sure. A game that was a walkover was the LAG one. LAG are incredibly bad online. Like, they're getting worse online. That's the team that, like, Purge attaches on. No, that's Legion. LAG is Diamond Con. Oh, mate, I'm confused. Who's the fourth, Donnie? I don't remember who the fourth one is. But, I mean, it doesn't matter if you're not very good online. You know what I mean? You can shoot, like, Diamond Con can online. Yeah, but the problem with that is that you need online wins as well to get into champs.
Because you won't have enough points. You're not winning. That's what I'm tipping them for, bro. Diamond Con, back-to-back LAN champion going into the World Championship. Apparently, they're terrible. Like, absolutely terrible nowadays. Which is a little bit disappointing, because they started off really well. And it looked like they'd be a decent enough team, but it's just not gelled. Get Flame out, get Slasher in. You reckon? Potentially. It could work, but... Could do. Boston Heretics. Heretics won a game with their new roster with Real on.
Instead of Eric Boone. And he looked really fucking good, eh? Yeah, you said he looked class. Yeah, he looked really good. So that'll come along nicely for them, I think. That'll just be a... That'll be a nice slow trajectory of getting better. As long as it comes to something online where they actually finally win a game. Or win a series, that'd be nice. And then moving on to Sunday, the 14th of April. We had Surge 3, Ravens 2.
Legion 2, LAT 3. Optic 1, Phase 3. So I had Surge to win. I said Legion, so it's a not cross. And I said Optic, and that was a cross. So we are five out of... ...eight. Which isn't bad, I'd say. Five out of eight? Yeah, five games out of eight. It's not bad. It's not terrible. No, not at all. So Surge against the Ravens. Obviously, in the roster move, they had 0-4 join instead of... Who did they replace? They replaced RCCs with 0-4.
A little bit of a slow start onto the games, but he found his feet enough. It's not a massive test against the Ravens, I'd say. They did go 2-0 off, and then it went back to 2-2, and it went down to the Surge games. The Ravens are just... They're not all there. They're not complete. They're letting shit slide, and just doing stupid plays right, left and centre, giving themselves up, not doing what they need to do and communicating properly to get what they need out of certain situations, especially in the Invasion Surge.
They just seem to give away free kills all the time. Yeah. If they ironed that out, they'd be a really good Surge team. But... They're just getting that ironed out of them, though, aren't they? Yeah. So... Asher to Ravens instead of either Clayster or Felony. Felony. Yeah, probably would be if you... It's not going to be Clayster, is it? No. How would that work, though? You know what I mean? Like, if Clayster is in a fucking flex.
Yeah, it would. What do you think? He's an emo, isn't he? Yeah, that's true, actually. He's got the period nails and the mad hair. Couldn't give a fuck. His hair is nuts, bro. Yeah? His hair is actually wild. L.A.T. 1 against Legion. The pick-up of... Well, Joe, just he's back on the team, apparently has worked out. It is only against Legion. I'm not... I don't see L.A.T. team getting any better. And then OpTic phase. I watched all of the OpTic phase.
OpTic had every opportunity to win every single game and then failed and just started to troll, essentially. Which is slightly disappointing because they're still yet to win against FaZe this year. 6-0. The potential is there. It's just taking it. Like, FaZe were not fully on it and they just let them have it. And it's just so jarring to see. Oh, anyway, moving on to next week. It's truly terrible. Shut up. Yeah, I think I'd better move on from that because I know you find what you're talking about.
A smug smile on your face. Like, 100% bro. Bought off. 100%. Next week's matches. Friday the 19th of April. New York Subliners versus the Ravens. OpTic versus Surge. And then Ultra versus the Heretics. So for that one, I'm going to go NSL win. OpTic win. And then Ultra win. That's a pretty big Friday, having those four teams playing. Sorry, those three teams playing on the Friday. Three of the top four. Yeah. Big credit. Mad kick-off to the weekend.
I guess they are playing teams that, like... Yeah, they're playing the lesser teams. You know what I mean? Yeah. The Ultra Heretics one should be quite fun to watch. Because the Heretics are obviously coming up. So they've got new teams. Let's see how that works out for them. And then Saturday the 20th, we get Heretics versus the LAT. Then we get OpTic versus Legion. And then New York Subliners versus Surge. So I'm going to go Heretics win against LAT.
OpTic win against Legion. And then I'll go on NYSL win against the Surge. Again, two of the top four playing slightly lesser teams. Both the Friday and the Saturday are really big, really nice games. Yeah, they're all right. They're not bad match-ups. And then, moving on to the Sunday, the 21st of April, we've got LAG versus Ravens. Rocker versus Boston. And then the big game of the Sunday, Ultra versus FaZe. Oh. Yeah. That's a massive game.
So I'm going to go with a Ravens win, a Rocker win, and then a FaZe win. Yeah. The FaZe Ultra one would be really nice to watch, but unfortunately that ends at fucking 11 o'clock, 12 o'clock at night, which then I have work the next morning. So that will be up to get watched later on the Monday. That'll be my lunchtime entertainment, I guess, is watching that game back. That's unfortunate you don't get to watch that, bro.
It is what it is. There's always the best game right at the end of the night. Yeah, for sure, because it's like prime time in the morning. Viewership. Viewership. Ugh, I hate that word. That's the fixtures. A couple of changes to Ranked Play. Oh, there was some news yesterday about Ranked Play as well, which I'm going to bring up. For maps, they've done a little bit of map pool rejigging. So we've got three maps out, and three new ones in.
So we've got Invasion Hardpoint, Skid Row Hardpoint, and Terminal S&D, they're out of the rotation. So sharing about Terminal S&D, I enjoyed that. Yeah, I enjoyed Terminal S&D as well. So then that then brings in new maps. We've got Vista Hardpoint, Six Star Hardpoint, and then Six Star S&D. We said it at the start when the fucking map came out, We said it at the start when the fucking map came out, Six Star is dog shit.
Especially Hardpoint, because one of the hills is in the water. It's the swimming pool, yeah. I think they need to move that. I think if they move that... The thing is, where else could they put it? Because they take it from there, and then they would have to put it on the other side of the map if they were going to move any... You know what I mean? Like the opposite side, which is just that long corridor.
There is a hill. There is a hill in that. Not there, but like up. Do you know where the window is, and you've got the room underneath? Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's one there. And there's one mid already. It's just like... I feel like it's their only place they could have put it, and it's just a shit place to put it, because then it just sits in the water. And then you can't even shoot through the water half the time.
You've got to be in the water. That's the thing, man. The pool just shouldn't be, like... that deep, I guess. Yeah, yeah. All right. Other changes to Ranked as well, which this came out yesterday. Thankfully, I was late, because we would have missed this yesterday. New weapons are going to be unlocked for testing in the Ranked play, starting today. So ARs, we've got the BP-50, the Holger 556, and the MTZ 556. The BP-50 is the best gun in the game, bro.
It's got no recoil. But it's the best AR in the game. Yeah. SMGs, you've got the HMR-9 and then the RAM-9. RAM-9, best SMG in the game, bro. Three DLC guns, two core guns. And as I said to you yesterday when this came out, it really irritates me, because, as I say, there's two guns that were in the game from the start. They got banned after the first rejig of the weapons, so it was only the MCW.
And then they nerfed the MCW into the ground to the point where it's not as good as the right. It kills slower than a rival at all ranges. And now they've gone, oh, here's two guns that you can have back. It's like, well, why have we restricted them from the start when you could have had them out, let them test and see how they worked, and then restricted them if they weren't good enough, or if they were too good? Because they follow the GA list, don't they? They follow the GA list, but it's like, but so then why are we now going, oh, we're going to now test it? You know what I mean? They follow the GA list, I get that.
But they should have done the check if these guns are viable and then GA'd them out later, not GA them straight away and then do the testing. But the BP and then the HMR and the RAM, they got tested, they were using them in scrims, and then I think Treyarch was like, yeah, we're banning them, they're done, they're straight out. They didn't get dumped straight in. I think they were in for a bit, though, weren't they? No, not at all.
No. Well, were they not in the ranks? Instantly banned. That's probably why they want to add them in now, then. Because they're just, you know what I mean? They're just like, well... As you say, the BP-50 is unbelievable because it has no recoil. It's got no recoil and you can spec it for strafe speed. Yeah. Which is the sickest thing in the world. It's the same with the RAM-9. You can spec the RAM-9 super high for strafe speed.
It's so fun to use. Currently, the HMR-9 is the best Warzone SMG. Yeah, HMR-9 is nutty on Warzone. Yeah, so I feel like it's going to be... It's going to be... I feel like the BP-50 is going to take over the ARs and then the HMR-9 is probably going to take over the SMGs, in my opinion. To be fair, I feel the BP-50 is slightly harder to hit shots at, longer range than the MCW is. You reckon? A little bit, yeah.
Maybe it's just a visual thing, but I feel like it bounces around a little bit more. Yeah, okay. You know what I mean? But then, to be fair, when I was trying to use it, I didn't have a red dot sight on it, which you would have to have in ranked. Yeah, you have to have one, which then just puts you onto the Mark III or the Sight Reflector. But then... Maybe with a red dot, it's just a laser beam.
That's all it is anyway, though, isn't it? Because Call of Duty, the guns have no recoil anyway. Yeah, that's very true. It's going to be riddled. The BPs are all going to hold the subs down. And the problem with the maps is they're mostly AR maps, because they're longer sightlines. I feel that's one of the good things about getting rid of some of these maps, especially from the CDR map pool and stuff. Yeah, it is because they're trying to change it up.
But it's like, we're now in the run-up to Majors III. This is halfway through the season, and we're changing all the map pools and changing all the guns. It's like, for the players themselves, they're probably not going to experience the gun changes until maybe Major IV. Yeah, for sure. Because they're not going to try and change it and try new guns. They're now learning these new maps as well, new call-outs. It's like, we're halfway through the season, we're changing everything.
Yeah, but with the maps, the players scrimmed it, liked it, got rid of other maps. That's genuinely something that's come from the players. I find it just such a jarring thing that we're changing everything. No, I think it's cool, man. It keeps it fresh. I don't know. Especially with the guns and stuff. We should have allowed the guns to be a thing before. The guns shouldn't be a thing. But the maps, I agree with the maps.
It's so nice to be able to watch a series as well that doesn't have three back-to-back invasion games. Yeah, that's nice. That's like, oh, my God. It had to be back-to-back invasion games because everything else wasn't good enough. Yeah, exactly. And it probably was so one-sided, depending on how you spawn. If you spawn defending on Terminal first, S and D, that's really hard. Attacking on Terminal is so hard to do because obviously your defending side has the top gen, which is such a power position because it has sightlines for every angle of coming out.
Yeah. So it was always a one-sided map affair. So that's the rank changes. A little bit of news for Major 4, speaking about that. Originally, it was going to be Carolina Royal Ravens hosting the event. That is no longer the case. I don't know the reason behind it, but they are no longer going to be hosting that. Major 4 will now have no live audience at all. The qualifiers for Major 4 will start on May 31st when we're down in London.
So that will be getting put on the big screen. I'm going to connect to the monitor. Sorry, I've spoken to Quadrant. They've allowed it. Sorry. What's that? Phase versus update? Nah, mate, get Quad on. It's LED versus LED. Phase. And then Major 4 will take place from June 27th to June 30th. Nice. And then the last bit of College of E-News we've got is the news that came out today, the new team agreement update. So these are all changes to help support the teams in the league and a little bit of a league restructure.
Main points, the four main points that they had. Outstanding entry fees will now be eliminated and any fees previously collected from teams will be returned in full. So it says here in the little breakdown of the College of E, like the blog post that they put out, is that they paused the collection of payments years ago. They've now permanently removed the obligation while injecting capital back into the league. So instead of everybody paying for it and going to the big donnies up top and back into the making of the game, they're now putting them back into the leagues, into the league games to try and keep it going and more healthy, I suppose.
Which, the injection of that capital back into the league then kind of moves on to point number three, which is teams will receive more from the league to run events. Obviously, the teams themselves had to put on the events and pay for it and they didn't really get a large... Well, they got money for it, but not nearly enough to try and cover all the costs. This will now massively increase this budget. Possibly why Carolina couldn't do it for Major Four, they probably didn't have the capital and the money to do so.
So they'll be able to help out a lot more to do it. Isn't it wild how the CDL and the HCS are run exactly the same way? Yeah. There's got to be some sort of similarities. They're all competitive. The wildest thing to me about that, that they weren't using money to send the teams to fund events, is the fact that if the HCS does that, I'm like, well, that makes sense. It's not a very popular eSport at the end of the day.
You know what I mean? Everything else is measured in how much do you want to be involved. So this would make sense. Would the CDLs be doing that when they're charging $27 million to be a part of it? Yeah. Charging that much money to be a part of it, plus the amount that they make off of selling the game itself, where Halo is a free game to play. Yeah. It's just like, wow, okay. Point two in this is teams will now earn increased revenue from the team bundles and champs bundles.
I assume all of the money that you've paid for those went to the team anyway, bro? So did I. I thought, I was like, oh, buy the optics, kid. Yeah, no worries, I'm helping OpTic. I'm supporting my team. No, the league is taking most of it. Fantastic. I'm like 50% to 75% sure as well that they've marketed those bundles in that way at some point. Probably. But it's like, why are they... I get it, you're putting it into your game, so obviously you want a share of that, but you're already charging 70 quid for people to play this fucking game, and you're charging an extra 16 quid to have this skin.
That 16 quid, most of that should go to the team because it's their fucking skin. I don't buy a fucking rocker skin because, oh, I want to support... I just like the rocker skin, I want to support Call of Duty. No, I'm buying that skin because I want to support rocker. You know what I mean? Oh, fucking Jesus. So that'll end up helping them run events as well now. That'll help them more money to put into that.
Which then, point four as well, teams will receive a two-year minimum guarantee of revenue. So they're guaranteed to make money so they can continue investing in the league, essentially. There's a couple of points I want to touch on. That guarantee of revenue part is interesting because... how are they guaranteeing... revenue? What are they guaranteeing it? Like, you know what I mean? It's like, they're guaranteeing that, you know, we'll get sales, we'll sell it. You know what I mean? We'll start generating some capital.
What is their plan for that? How are they doing that? You know what I mean? What assurances are they giving to the team owners that they're now going to start making this profitable for them? Yeah. Other than, well, you're going to have, yeah, like, you're going to have two years of guaranteed revenue because we're keeping the league around for another two years. And there's two years left on your contract. So we're getting two years worth of skins.
And now instead of getting 15%, you'll get 50% over two years. So there's your guaranteed revenue. Yeah. You know what I mean? It's like, what does that actually mean? Right? The other thing is... They'll never keep the bullseye information, though. The other thing that I want to kind of speak about is that, like, point one, about... them, like, refunding the... the 27 million, like... Oh. So what is their barrier? What is their metric for entry now? No, it's free.
Free to entry, I think. Yeah, but, like, yeah, it's free, i.e. you don't have to pay money... Mm-hmm. ...to join the league. But it's not free, i.e. they're not going to accept... teammate esports. Because, oh, well, it's free now so we can compete. They're not going to do that. Yeah. You know what I mean? It's like, what are they going to do? What is their barrier to entry going to be for organisations that want to join the league? Are they going to expand the league? You know what I mean? Like, what is it that they're going to be looking for? I don't know.
They've not said... There's no information on that currently. No, there won't be. There won't be and they probably won't do because, as in the HCS, the... partnership programme for organisations, I don't think a lot is known about the sorts of things they ask, what information you have to be ready to give up, like, what it is that they look for in a potential partner. Yeah. But, I mean, you can make a pretty good guess, right? Like, looking at what the two most recent partnered teams were, Quadrant and Complexity.
Yeah. It's like, you can make a pretty educated guess based upon those two things, what the metrics that they're looking for are. Yeah. So, it's like, yeah, there is no barrier to entry, but there is. Because now, like, instead of just going, well, you owe us $25 million and we're going to scrutinise your business, they're just going to go, we're going to scrutinise your business. You don't owe us any money, but we're going to be way more choosy now about who we get involved.
You know what I mean? Like, I don't know. I mean, it can only be a good thing, like, them doing this with the league, in my opinion, but, like, I have seen some rumours about potentially what this could mean more long-term. Yeah. So, like, you know, the C... No, the OWL? Is it called the OWL? The Overwatch League, I think. Yeah. So, that was set up the same way, franchised. They made this same move, and then the league folded within a year.
Yeah. Or they closed the league down within a year. Well, so, the people who have made this happen are overactive media. There is a company, a primary eSports entertainment company for today's generation of fans, right? They... This is Canadian dollars, and then I'll tell you the US dollar. So, like, the elimination of the OAM entry fees totaling $35.1 million Canadian dollars, which is $25.5 million US dollars. They've just... They've given it... They're handing it back. Like, overactive media are handing that back to people.
They've cut off all those extending fees, and they're going to hand back the money that's been handed to them already. Right? Then followed by a one-time reconstruction payment of $2.8 million Canadian dollars, which is $2 million US dollars, into the league. Yeah. Fucking how much money does overactive media have that they can just... Oh, fucking entry fees. Cut it off, hand back the money that you've taken in already, and we'll pay an extra fucking $2 million US dollars to help restructure all this.
Well, that's very interesting, then, because do you know who overactive media are? Ultra. Ultra. Ultra, yeah. So, have they just sold the league to overactive media? Secures new long-term agreement. There's a new team, a license agreement with the CDL. The agreement provides a long-term horizon for growth and clear path of product... Blah. Profitability. So, they haven't sold it to them, they've leased it to them, and they're going to get an increased revenue share from it. Mm-hmm.
Wow. That's nuts. And apparently, overactive media turned over $14.2 million in 2022. Mm-hmm. Well, all this... This purchase is going to be reflected in their 2024 second quarter results. I have to keep an eye out for them. Yeah. Especially if they post them publicly. I imagine they would do that further on the stock exchange. Yeah, these would be, yeah. Oh, yeah, there you go. You can buy shares for 40 cents a share. 40 cents a share? 40 Canadian dollars a share.
Oh, sorry, 40 Canadian cents a share. How much is that worth in pounds? I don't know, bro. What's the... What's the currency? What's the fucking... Is it XE? XE, there we go. That's what we want. From Canadian dollar, what did you say, 40 cents? 40 cents. 40 cents to British pound. Can't even... Oh, there you go, 23p. You can invest in overactive media for 23p a share. Hmm. Might be worth a punt. And for the Americans out there, that is 28 cents US dollars for one share.
Might definitely be worth a punt. If they're going to go into the Cod, but then you've also got to worry, as you've already said, about the Overwatch, it might fucking fall in on itself. Oh, yeah, for sure, but if... So, like, with the revenue guarantee, this is who's guaranteeing it. Yeah. It's not Microsoft and these people, it's overactive media. They're guaranteeing that. You know what I mean? Like, so that... That, to me... ...would speak more about what they're potentially going to attempt to do.
Because I think, like, they're doing this now, the format will change, the whole thing is going to change, I mean, I think. Because I think they've literally just gone to them, this is now your product, do what you want with it. Pay us 60% off the top. Yeah. For the privilege of having the licence. Like, you know what I mean? I feel like this has all come on the back of the scump and hexed lawsuit. I mean, it might have done, but...
...a deal like this, I would assume, would take a lot longer than that's been kicking about for, to put together. You know what I mean? I don't... I get what you're saying, but I don't know. Because if it's like a multi-year licensing deal, like... ...they're not going to just be able to put that together... ...overnight, realistically. You know what I mean? Not when this is a company that has, like, shareholders and all that, I don't know, because I feel like, if this was going to be a thing, that surely they would have, like...
The point where they catch when this lawsuit is starting to materialise, they would have been like, we're doing something to try and stop this, so that we're trying to restructure and make it, change it. You know what I mean? Yeah, but that wouldn't mean, like, we're going to have to go through the whole process You know what I mean? Yeah, but that wouldn't mean that they wouldn't put the lawsuit in anyway. That conversation might have happened.
You know what I mean? They might have been like, oh, yeah, like, you know, we know you're going to do this, but, like, just so you're FYI, like, we're doing this. Yeah. It's business, innit? It's like, you know what I mean? Hex is a businessman. Isn't he just? He's a businessman. Like, he knows what the game is. Business! He's like Fredo, bruv. Who? Fredo, you know, the UK rapper. He went on Instagram, I think he was, like, talking about someone, and he was like, you're lucky I'm a businessman.
Yeah, of course you are, mate. I don't know Fredo. You don't know Fredo? No. Oh, mate. You ever been to a shisha bar? No. You go to a shisha bar, you'll know Fredo, bruv. Mate, I live in fucking Scotland. How many fucking shisha bars do you think is in Scotland? I don't know, there's probably a few, like, um... Mate, there's more likely to be a fucking iron brew bar than a shisha bar. An iron brew bar? That'd do bits in Scotland, bruv.
You should go on that. Iron brew and haggis. That's all they serve. Ten inch iron brew haggis. That's all you're getting. Some lawn sausage. Lawn sausage? Ugh. I'm gonna dance. Flat sausage. I'm gonna dance. And then what? Them bread rolls called? The one with the, like... Butteries. They're the ones that have been, like, burnt? No. Butteries are just heavily fucking saturated in, er... fat. So oily. Everything on the menu can be deep fried if you'd like it to as well.
Oh, yeah. The only sport that they show on the TV, caber tossing and In Search of Nessie, that's it. In Search of Nessie? Yeah, it's like In Search of Sasquatch, but, like, about a lot less monster. It's a multi-part TV show. Really? No, that's not a real thing, bro. Like, what? I don't know. Mate, you spent a lot of time on the Discovery Channel when you were younger. I don't know. You ever seen, um... Oh, mate, I don't know what it's called.
It's, like, called, like, Hunting Bigfoot or something? Right. You ever seen this? No. It's the most amazing TV show I've ever seen in my life. Because every episode's, like, 25 minutes long, right? And they start it, and they're, like... It's, like, dead intense, and they're, like, we've got a call from Bob in Maryland. He says he's seen a Bigfoot on his property. So they, like, whip over, and then it's just, like, some bloke who's never... He doesn't even know what a Bigfoot is.
You can tell that just by listening to what he's saying. Like, he has no idea. He's making it up on the spot. They're, like, ah, so what did the creature look like? And he's, like, yeah, it was about five foot tall. I'm, like, really? That's so rare. Like, we've heard that they're, like, nine feet. And he's, like, did I say five? I meant 15 feet tall. And they're, like, whoa! And then they, like, go out and look for it.
And then they get this big geez called Bobo to smack a tree with a cricket bat and make, like, weird noises. And do you know what they find every episode, bro? That... Well, they don't find a Bigfoot, I'll tell you that. They find the power of friendship and fucking about with your mates, but they never find a Bigfoot. It went on for, like, five seasons. Amazing, amazing TV. Would highly recommend it. Better than Dog the Bounty Hunter? Nothing's better than Dog the Bounty Hunter, bro.
Yeah. Apart from Doomsday Preppers. Doomsday Preppers, that is, like, peak shit TV. Do you want a laugh? Get yourself on the Doomsday Preppers. Can't sit too much time on there, fucking Alan. Mate, like, the best one I've ever seen on that, yeah, is Geezer. Like, because after they, like, talk through their preps and stuff, it gets adjudicated by, like, the Preppers Industry Standard people or something. Like, they're trying to get, like, an ISO recommendation on their prepping guides, right? Right.
And this one Geezer was planning to carry 50 litres of water on his back for, like, I don't know, a 20-day hike out of the city, and they were just like, yeah, so, like, at the Preppers International meeting thing, we're concerned with your ability to carry that much water, because, like, do you know how much water that is? And the guy's like, oh, respectfully, like, you don't know what you're on about, like, this is bullshit, I don't believe anything, get out of my house! It's just like, alright.
Like, cool, man. Jesus. Mate, it's in this class. I love it. Let's go, man. You know what else I love? I don't know. LVT Halo 2v2 Tournament, bro. I love that. Yeah? Yeah, we had two this weekend, obviously. We had the old 2v2 Pro Invitational on the Sunday. Uh-huh. And the Saturday, we had the Women of Halo 2v2. Yeah. There might be a more technical name for that, but I think it's just the Women of Halo 2v2.
Which was pretty good. Both pretty good, pretty high stamina to play. Legend is the best player in the world, in my opinion, currently. The guys are on a different level. And I think that that is a very scary thing if you have to play SSG at any point. I can't lie. I'm excited to see what happens in this next set of qualifiers. I think it'll be worth a watch. When are these next set? I still don't know.
I can't lie to you. They're scrimming just now. Yeah, they're scrimming, yeah. I mean, I imagine it starts soon. Maybe this weekend, if not the next weekend. Because we're only we're only like, what, a month away from London now? A month and a bit? A month and a... It's like a month and a... like, what, six weeks? Five weeks? Yes, six weeks. So it's seven weeks on Friday. Seven weeks on Friday, is it? So they've got to get in like, I don't know, four or five weeks with qualifiers.
So yeah, it must start soon. Yeah. But yeah, that'll be good. Fuck yeah. What else happened in Halo this week? Some Rustamania news that came out of the left field. I did not see that coming. So Collect is out at Native Gaming. Which is... I mean, I can't say that I'm surprised. Because I think Native Gaming they need someone. You know what I mean? Someone's got to change there. I don't know how, I don't know what it is.
I don't know how they need to change it. But something needs to change. And I don't think you realistically like... So I mean, let's look at the people on that team. They're not going to drop barcode so soon. Because it's a dick maneuver, isn't it? Realistically. And the guy that runs Native seems like a pretty stand-up geezer. So I don't think he's going to be like, well, you know, this guy out. I mean, I also don't think barcode performs terribly.
I should probably say that as well. I don't think it's just like a pity vote. But I don't think barcode is the issue. APG, they're not going to get rid of APG. And they're not going to get rid of the guy that they wanted to build a team around either. Yeah. So it's like, you know, collect the odd man out, I feel. Interesting, though, that he's had a lot of opportunities on decent teams, and it just hasn't stuck.
Like when he was on Sentinels, for example, I thought he was really good on Sentinels and then just he's just out. Yeah. That's interesting. So I don't know something in the background. You know, I don't know. I don't know what it could be where collect is concerned. And I would not like to speculate, to be honest with you, because I think he's a really good player. Yeah. And then speaking of Sentinels, so Spartan is also out at Sentinels, which is also just like, like that to me is mental.
That's bigger than the collect thing. Because like Sentinels coming into the season, like multiple times in the preseason. They all said, apart from maybe Lethal, we're staying together. Like this is the squad. We want to build, we want to get better as a unit. We want to go win stuff. These are the people that we're going to do do it with. And then like it gets to, you know, I mean, I don't know if it is a Spartan performance issue.
Because I can't see them dropping him given the situation. You know what I mean? I mean, I could see them doing it. I couldn't really see them dropping him outright. Maybe like because I mean, he was only United and he benched, wasn't he? So maybe just being like, yo, like take the time you need. You're benched, lad. You know what I mean? We hate to do it to you. But you're going to set out this part of the season.
Get yourself better. We're still invested in you. You're still our guy. We still want you on the squad. And then, you know what I mean? He can still compete with, well, he can still play him wherever he wants to play him, realistically. You know what I mean? He can do whatever he wants. Going by his tweets, I don't think, I don't know. I think it's a strange one. Because he clearly wasn't involved in the conversation at all about it.
Yeah, I do get that impression. I think it was a conversation with his head. Yeah. I mean, I don't know who makes the decisions for the Sentinels. It must be a team thing. It's normally always a team thing. It's just strange that, you know, if you think about Boo Boo Falcated, Lethal, and Chig, I think Chig's the coach, all getting into a call and deciding that Spartan wasn't going to be part of that team anymore. I don't really know.
I mean, maybe having Spartan on your team is kind of a high-risk, high-reward strategy. Because when he's on, everything goes through him. You know what I mean? Like the play on the map, the vibe, the comms, all of it, it's all Spartan. And when he's not on, maybe he's unwell, maybe things aren't going his way, like whatever. When he's not at a full 100% Spartan, it's all very flat. So maybe it's like they've just decided that they don't want to have the high-risk, high-reward factor.
Who knows? I don't know. Hopefully we'll find some more information out about it at some point. But like, where they go and who they get in, no idea for either team. I don't think it's a straight swap. In fact, Spartan said on Twitter he wasn't going to Native. So where they where they kind of go to next is like I don't really know. I mean he'd fit into the team, but I don't know what he brings that Spartan didn't already bring to the table.
New generation. I mean maybe. Maybe the next next gen build and start to build a new team. I mean potentially, yeah. But I mean out of the two of them I would probably choose Spartan over Collect. Yeah, you know your net with Spartan, you know what he can bring. Yeah, I think that's the thing man. Like Collect is really good, don't get me wrong, but like I would choose Spartan for that team specifically. Collect is just not the finished product I don't think.
Yeah, someone someone I think was either on Twitter or I saw it on the Reddit or something like someone was saying that Collect is like the equivalent of Season 1 Bound where like the talent is very clearly there. It just needs refining and pushing in the right direction. I saw someone replied to him and was like yeah, but like that's the problem. He's still Season 1 Bound and it's Season 3. That's fair, that's a fair criticism to make but if you then think that Bound Season 1 Bound was moulded into Season 3 Bound by Eco Stellar Penguin Eagle Knight like you know what I mean? Like these are the people that he's working on playing the game with all of the time.
It's not like you're going to become a better player doing that. Yeah. Like they're all incredible players like all of the ones that we have in the league but like those players are going to be teaching you shit that the rest of the players don't know. You know what I mean? If you're on like a top team you're going to learn stuff at such a faster rate and like in a different way and it's going to make you better and you're going to become more refined whereas Collect has never had that experience.
So maybe he just needs to land in the right environment. I don't know. I'm not sure. It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds. Slash her to sentinels man. Slash her on a team. Oh Jesus. Neptune will be back in no time. Oh no. It'll be interesting. It'll be very interesting to see how it unfolds. I did in like a moment of madness I was like oh I wonder if one of them is just going to do what SSG did and just went well SSG are clearly winning because they've got like a nutty European Donny on it so just pick up like I don't know Jimbo or something.
Imagine. That'd be wild bro I'd love to see that. Surely not though. Surely not. Nah I don't think so. I don't think it'd be that. Nah nah nah. Jimbo's staying. Jimbo is our is our is our foe. Have I been picked up yet? Nope. I haven't had any rumblings but I haven't seen Wonderboy I haven't been live for a bit and I don't think I've seen anything on Twitter regarding it or anything like that. Straight Rippin's got to hurry up.
I don't think that that's going to be a thing. No reckon? Nah. Oh no I feel like if it was going to be a thing it would have been more something would have happened by now there would have been some rumours or something you know what I mean. I mean I could be completely wrong they might be waiting for the next lot of qualifiers to start to make an announcement. Yeah. But who knows man. Who knows indeed.
We'll wait and see how it unfolds. Yeah for sure. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. I hope they get picked up and if they don't get picked up I hope they just like I don't know try and come up with some sort of way to generate revenue around them. You know what I mean as players and as individuals and as a team you know what I mean. Yeah. There's probably a multitude of things that they can be doing.
Oh definitely. I also think that like people would for example like one of the things I saw was someone was like I think it was like saying it to Wonderboy was like yeah you need to design like merch and stuff because people would buy that especially for London people would buy that and it's like that's probably not a terrible idea. You know what I mean. The risk you run though is that like if you if you design all this merch and you have 150 t-shirts printed with Jimbo's face on it and you sell them for like 30 quid a pop or some shit and then you get an organisation who's just like what the fuck is this you're not selling that no way you've just spent like however much money on getting Jimbo's face printed on a t-shirt and like yeah they still sell but like it's not official faux merchandise at that point it's just Jimbo merchandise.
It's just Jimbo yeah. You know what I mean. But yeah hopefully something happens with that soon. EU Halo definitely has the bug as well man. Yeah. Everyone was scrimming today. I like it. I was watching Jimbo's stream and he was looking through his friend list and just like everyone was in custom games and big blocks I like it. It's interesting though to see the teams Yeah. Like yeah 100% I can't wait for the old that one that we were talking about before bro I can't wait for them to find their fourth player get them in the scrims get them in the scrim circuit Oh yeah closely on Halo Tracker Mate you're next up it's you it's me no it's not me no way yeah definitely I'll message him don't worry don't do that why not that's not a thing that's not a thing that's not a thing that's not a thing that's not a thing that's a myth you've got a purple bin you'll fit in I don't have a bin what do you mean you don't have a bin right it's like a communal shared one but I've never seen it because you just go to like the chute the chute yeah so you do have a bin though what in the flat yeah I do in the flat in the bin the bin in the flat is grey bro if you must know go paint it purple would you using what I don't know bee roots paint paint yeah good one that's how you paint things paint it with paint well you'd know all about painting wouldn't you lad yeah tell him about it you've got that bloody house to paint that bloody house that bloody house that fucking bloody house oh dear if you're probably folded your hands together by this like some machine no it's all painted now painted all the fucking gaps in my hands nice one polyfilled it sanded it and then painted them looking classy oh dear oh no oh dear is that everything for the halo yeah I think so I don't think there's much else to say okay nice well thank you very much everybody for listening we will catch you next week for episode 22 again as always feedback positive negative anything constructive please let us know at teamnadepodonx but until next week we'll catch you later
