Yeah, it is always a good thing to not be dying anymore. Especially at this young age, the prime age of 25, you know. It's really lovely, lovely prime age. You're halfway to 50 lad. You can't defend it, you can't defend that. It's the OP strategy. I mean there is a way of defending it, but it's not widely accepted. What, what are you going to say? But I don't know what happened literally the rest of the weekend because, uh... I was out Friday night and then Saturday I was just knocking around the guff. Not really doing anything, being antisocial. We were grinding that ranked. That's what we were doing. We were playing that multi-ranked, which, by the way, is sweaty. Yeah, that's insane. It is some sweaty shit. I feel like the thing with Cod as well is like, um... You notice it so much more when the people that you play in are just slightly more on it than you. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. If they're playing at a slightly higher pace than you, you feel it ten times more than other ranked games, I would say. Oh yeah, definitely. There's times where you can tell that people have been playing for a couple of hours or so. They've played a few games, if it's your first game on. Because they're just so much quicker to the reaction or where they need to be and then the gunny. The issue I think we've run into in this early stage of playing it is the fact that it's all the onyx, all the iridescence, all the crimson, iridescence top 250 players are still kicking around in the bottom leagues. Yeah, see, I don't have that problem when I'm not playing with you. Oh, so it's my fault? I'm not saying it's your fault, I'm just saying that you're a wreck. Oh, we don't like your lobbies. It's your effect, I never said that either. I just said I don't have that problem when I'm not playing with you. If you're taking that from that, then that's on you, bruv. But I'm not saying that. So sad for accusing me of walling on a bronze player. Oh, my guy, yeah. If anyone saw the stream, when was that? Saturday night? Friday, I think. Friday? Oh, yeah, Friday. Oh shit, yeah, because I came over and I jumped on ranked, didn't I? I was talking shit at people in the lobby. Shout out, man. Yeah, if anybody caught the Forbes 98 livestream on Friday, I got accused of walling. And if I didn't turn my walls off, nobody was going to get SR. Which he then proceeded to try DDoS the server. I'm assuming his missus was playing as well. Oh, please don't. They had a weird clan tag name thing. I'm not going to repeat it because they were young cokes. They wanted to keep their purple win streak, and I was just clearly better. It's funny that my guy was like, turn your walls off, it's a bronze lobby. And then he was prepared to DDoS the server. My guy tried to nuke the server in the bronze lobby. He was like, stop taking it so serious that you're cheating. And then he was like, but I'm going to fuck everything else up for everybody else because I take it that serious. You've got a skill gap. Hold the fucking L, bro. It's the fact his first protocol. And it's the same with a lot of people. They get battered, or there's someone better than them. The first thing is, oh, well, they're hacking. Walling. Aimbot. Cronus. Whatever. Cronus. The fact is, if you watch back the fucking livestream, the amount of times I died from the side or a boy coming around the corner, if I was walling, I wouldn't let that happen. And the fact is, I brought up my KD. It was like a 1.7. If I was hacking, at the time I said I was like, if I'm hacking, I'd have at least a 2. I'd have above a 2. I wouldn't sit at 1.7. You know what I mean? Like, oh. That's the thing, man, isn't it? It's like, you know, if you've got that awareness, then it, like, I think that's the thing, man. If you're playing someone who has awareness that is in the next, like, the next level up from you, I don't want to say, like, god-tier awareness or, like, pro-level awareness or anything like that, but, like, if you're, like, you know what I mean, if you're a Crimson and you're playing an Iridescent or a top 250, the map knowledge and awareness that those people are going to have, even to those people who are probably in the top, I don't know, top 1% of players anyway, if you're in Crimson, probably. I don't know. I don't have the numbers. I'd say, like, top 5% onwards. Even then, they're still going to get skill gaps. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah, definitely. I feel like that's the thing, man. The higher you go up the ELO, like, it's not gun skill that separates people. No. It's, like, everything else. Because it's, like, everyone can shoot. You know what I mean? It's that next-game knowledge and where people are going to be. Yeah, exactly. Where people are going to be. So, it's, like, you know, if you didn't know any better, you genuinely would just be, like, oh, well, this guy. Like, if you couldn't, if you, like, don't understand that that's an aspect of the game, so, therefore, you can't, like, comprehend the way in which someone already knows you're going to be there before you even know you're going to be there, then you would automatically be, like, oh, he's hacking. But, like, it's still a joke, bro. Like, I can't lie to you. It's some funny shit, man. It's the fact that, like, I have this image of them, like, sitting in the same gas together, because at one point, I absolutely turned her. She, like, tried to run up behind me to knife me, and I spawned, drop-shot her, and killed her. I've just got this image of her in the same gas and being like, no, no, he's hacking. No, he's hacking. How did he know? He's hacking. I just had, ah, I really wish that I could just be a fly in that wall in that situation, as they're both shouting at each other that, no, he's hacking, back and forth, in their own gas, like, bought off. Your mum and your da accuse people of hacking on Cod. Your mum and da has marital issues over Cod. Right, here we go. Cod League. For the 20th of the 1st, the 21st of the 1st, and the 22nd of the 1st. Friday. Rocker3. L-A-G, no. Heretics3. Optic, no. Monotons. Shut up. Um, Ultra3. Subliners, no. So, yeah, I heard about that one, right? That surprised me, that. Subliners getting bounced by Ultra. Well, until that game, Subliners were 5-0 for this year so far, or, like, the game so far. Yeah. And then that lost their flawless against Ultra. Um, all 3-0's on that on Friday. Um, the Rocker one I feel like was a little bit surprised it went 3-0. The Optic-Heretics one, Optic, were too slow. They just couldn't get going. Better foreshadow in there, I think. I'm starting to get bored of you. We'll get to that. So, I don't know what to say. I don't know what to say. Heretics had to bounce back after their weekend last weekend where they went. They lost 2 on the bounce after winning all the rest of their games before the break. Um, then we go on to the Saturday. Sorry, can we just go back to Heretics a second? Yeah, of course you can. Who did they play last weekend? They played Boston on the Sunday, and they played Surge on the Saturday. Right. So, have they, have they, do you think they've, have they beaten the allegations? Or is the jury still out? Um, I feel like the jury will be still out until this weekend. Okay. Because, again, I'll get to it, like the full breakdown of who's in what games. But Heretics-Optic is on the Thursday. Are they coming? They've only, Optic are like the only like quote-unquote top team that they've beaten so far, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah, okay. Um, so we move on to Saturday. Um, Ultra 3, Legion 1. Heretics 3, LAG 0. Rocker 3, Surge 2. Phase 3, Ravens 2. So, Rocker had an insane weekend then. Yeah, Rocker managed to get 2 wins out of their 2 games. Is that the Double Con team? Or is that? No, Rocker is Accuracy. Um, Vivid. And I can't remember the other 2, to be honest. Nice. Buff. They were 1-4 last weekend after all the games. And they've come back with 2 wins. They're in winners now, aren't they, for the major? Yes, yes they are. That's wild. Because they're like the bottom, the lowest seed that got them into the winners bracket, I feel. Yes, I think so. Which is nice. Boston just missed out on the winners bracket this time around. But we'll talk about that one and then on for a bit the Sunday game. The interesting one that I found for the Saturday was the Phase Ravens. Phase were 2-0 up. And Ravens brought it back to 2-2. But then it was, you get to 2-2 in the final 5 map, like the 5th game, to Surge against Phase. You know what I mean? They're just going to batter them. So they've won a control and a hard point against them. Yes. You know what marks? Not to hand. Oh, they've won a sub-base hard point. Because they played sub-base again on the Sunday against LAT. And Ravens look like a really good hard point team. Really good. Surge is woeful. The hard point and control, the respawn, it's getting better. But they've made, that was with the changes, so. Yes, I was going to say, that's the new look for Ravens, isn't it? Yes, so GodRX, he decided to call it a day after a terrible showing last weekend. And I mean, really terrible against The Rocker. He decided, yes, that's me done. And then 2Real can't get his visa in time. So they've been replaced by Felony, or Fellow. And TJ Hallie. Oh, for fuck's sake. You're not a fan of TJ Hallie? How is this fucking bum in the league? And my man Doug can't get a call up, bro. Like, come on, what are we doing? Doug's too busy doing pull-ups on his stream. I did see he was doing... Oh, mate, we didn't even address it. Continue, and then we'll address it in the midpoint. At the midpoint reload, we'll address what we need to address. In between the two sections, we'll drop some info. Yeah, so they come in a good hardpoint team. Still a lot of work for them to do. Because then they went into the Sunday, and they went LAT 3, Ravens 2. That went all the way to Game 5 as well. Ravens, they won the control, the hardpoint, and I think they won both hardpoints. But they didn't win the search or the control. That game took two and a half hours to play. Because the LAT facility, the power went out. They got it back. Then they played one round of search. The power went out again. That explains Keister's tweet where he was like, hey, yo, Nadeshot's a busy electricity bill. So then what ended up happening is all the LAT boys went back to their own apartments, loaded the game up and put it in their own apartments. That's wild. Because they couldn't get the power going. That's why it took two and a half hours for that game to finish. That's absolutely nuts that they had to do that. It pushes all the games back. The last game normally starts about midnight anyway. So I normally don't get to see it. Luckily I had a nap midday, so I actually ended up being awake until 2 when it actually started and finished. So, I don't know. These are like big facilities. And this is LA. You know what I mean? The power's going out in these facilities. It's not the first time this has happened. The LAT facility runs out of power all the fucking time. Somebody needs to put 50p in a meter. Is it an LAT facility problem or is it a where-their-facility-is problem? Well, I can't comment on the power grid of where it's located. Where is it located? I'm assuming it's LA. I'm going to Google it, man. Well, you Google that. I'll carry on. You've got Boston 2, New York 3. That was a really interesting match-up. You see that almost ace. From out of cap. That was insane. Did you watch that game? Yeah, I think I... I was playing ranked at the time it was on. I was playing with Ollie. That game, in that final moment, where Cap nearly got the ace, I can't remember who it was, but one of the Boston players fell off the map. Yeah, I didn't hear him say that. In a must-win round, one of them fell off the map. I mean, it happened to the best of us. I fall off the map on high-rise all the time, bro. If you go back and watch the control game, the control high-rise game is so fascinating to watch. Because New York had it in the palm of their hand and they bottled it. Hydra tried to do a route around the back, and if he gets in behind, he wins the round easy. But it's like Slasher moves from his spawn, sets up and just watches their back, and then it just opens their entire setup. Everybody's then in front of them getting a four-man push. It's such a fascinating watch. And then speaking of a fascinating watch, Optic now, Phase 3. That was... That was it. The hard point on Invasion was really fascinating to watch, because Phase kept it close, kept it close until they went down to the P4 hill, the second rotation of P4. Then they started to turn the screw and got nearly all the hill time while Optic were setting up for P5 in the embassy. Which I'll get onto that in a second, because I've got something to say on that. And then they managed to flip the spawns and they sat in the embassy and won it. Yeah, it was insane, man. It was such a good watch. Even just that first map was an insane watch. If you look back at it, it's like how quickly Optic were in that fucking game from the start. You thought, like, Christ, they are done in. Like, they are hot off the button. And then it just started to teeter out and then it just became nothing. But last season it was 1 in 10. Phase only won 1 in 10 games out of between the two teams. So this year is going to be different. One thing that did come out yesterday from Kenny is that they were playing on... So they had ping variations on this side of Optic. Yep. Yeah, I've seen this. Not to change from when they were playing subliners and they were on zero ping. But we won't mention that because they lost. Sorry for the talking point. My point on this is, regardless of your variation of ping, you can't use it. No. Because A, you're online. You're online. Tough fucking shit. Like, it's not... You're paying... Yes, it will affect certain gunfights, but it's not the be-all end-all. No, and... That's the reason we've lost and that's all that fucking matters. I mean, the thing is, right, is I have a... I don't have a lot of sympathy for this. Because they're playing from a brand-new multi-million-dollar state-of-the-art facility. Yep. They're in Texas, so they have access to the Faborg Texas fiber. Yep. And I watch a lot of Halo, man. And, you know, one of the things we're going to talk about later is the 2v2 and the 4v4, run by LBT on the weekend. Same weekend as the COD. And the European rosters that were playing on minimum 8T ping in a game that is plagued by desync and all of these other issues were competitive. And I saw numerous players die through walls. Yeah. You know what I mean? So it's, you know, I'm very much just like, well... The interesting thing from the photo that Kenny posted of their scoreboard was Shotzi and Dashie were on 20-something ping and then Fred and Kenny were on 60 ping. Yeah. So there's a variation in their own facility because they're all sat next to each other. But regardless, it shouldn't matter. No. Because what are they going to do when you get to LAN? It's all on the same fucking network. Are you then going to complain about lag? No. So, to me, it was kind of an irrelevant fucking... The thing is, I can see, I can understand why they complain about it. Oh yeah, we experienced it all the time. Don't get it twisted, I have no sympathy for them. But I can see why they would be like, well, what is this? You know what I mean? This is the conditions in which we were playing in. Right? But at the same time, I don't necessarily think the ping would stop them from just getting absolutely manhandled in certain situations. Yeah. You know what I mean? Because it's like, yeah, okay, so the ping is lower, maybe those 50-50s go a different way. You know what I mean? Yeah. If, say, 75% of the 50-50s went in the favor of FaZe, maybe they go... Maybe it would end up as a 50-50 split. But at the same time, they got outplayed in a lot of senses. You know what I mean? Yeah, they lost the rotation, so they played it. They thought they had it, they were in control of it all, but FaZe knew what they were doing. They were just new to keep it just close enough to the point where they could then go, right, this is our moment, let's take it. And they took it with both hands. And that's just the way it is. Yeah. You can't argue with FaZe. They're unbeaten in the entire run-up to Major One. A map count of 21 wins, 5 losses. And they didn't drop an entire series. Absolutely massive. That's the first time that they've done that. And you can't argue with that. Clearly, they are a good team if they can do that. Because this league is far more competitive than I think it ever has been. You think? Yeah. You think it's more... Do you mean this year on this title, or do you mean as the CDL as a whole? CDL as a... Maybe CDL as a whole. Maybe 50-50 on each. Because each team... There's no teams that have not won a game. Or won a match. Like an overall match. Yes, there's teams like Ravens and stuff that they get pummeled. But they're starting to become better to the point where they're actually... They took FaZe 3-2. They took LAT 3-2. They're clearly making changes to make themselves better. You get the timing, you get the days that you get absolutely railed. But that's just the way that it is. But it's far more competitive than it ever has been, in my opinion. But you've got Major One coming up in Boston, which starts on Thursday, the 25th of January, in three days' time. I do love that about the COD events, that they're not just Friday, Saturday, Sunday. You know what I mean? The fact that it starts on... Obviously, I'm supposed to be busy Friday night. Well, I might be busy Friday night. I'm definitely out on Saturday. And then because I'm out on Saturday, I'm not planning on doing anything on Sunday at all. You know what I mean? So it's nice that... You'll actually get to see... I'll still get to see some LAN gameplay. You know what I mean? Even if I miss the rest of it completely, I'll still get to see some LAN gameplay, which is exciting. Because I'm probably not going to be able to watch the Grand Finals, which is annoying. Yeah, but you'll get... Well, I could do, to be fair, if I sleep during the day on Sunday, which is highly likely, to be honest with you. Yeah. That's fine. So, speaking of Major One, in the winner's bracket, you've got FaZe, LAG, New York Subliners, ROKR, Ultra, Surge, Heretics, Optic, so that breaks down into FaZe versus LAG, New York Subliners versus ROKR, Ultra versus Surge, and then Heretics versus Optic. Yep. And then in your loser's bracket, you've got LAT, Legion, Boston, and then Ravens. Boston, in their whole Major, they just missed out with the loss to New York Subliners yesterday. They would have made it into the winner's bracket in their whole Major. But, having them in loser's bracket, that means they have one life, essentially. You lose, you're out. That's it, at your own home Major. I don't know how it's going to go for them. I kind of want them to do, to get further on. I feel like they might be a better team than LAG. I'm not convinced LAG should be in the winner's bracket, but I don't know, maybe the, maybe the stats don't lie, you know what I mean? Getting wins against certain teams has helped them. LAG beat Boston 1-0. 3-1, sorry. They won against LAC. It's a LAN, though. Yeah. LAN in the entire Major. They're going to be in a small ass room with a load of people from Boston screaming. Like, you know what I mean? Like, you know, I saw what happened when that situation was true in Halo and it produced some of the most amazing moments ever in a competitive series. And I think Boston will be the bogey team in the lower bracket. You reckon? I think they'll go on a run. I don't think they'll win it, but I think they'll go on a run. Okay, so who do you think is going to win Major 1? FaZe. FaZe. FaZe, okay. Who do you think is going to be in the final with them? Don't give a fuck. Don't matter. FaZe will win. You can just play along, no? Could be anyone. I actually think... Who are subliners playing? ROKR. ROKR. They'd win that. If they beat them, who are they playing? FaZe and LAG. Well, if they play LAG, then they'd beat LAG. You know what I mean? That means LAG will be FaZe. Oh, right, okay. Well, if they play FaZe, they're probably going to end up. Right. But then I think as long as they avoid Boston, they probably make it. I would like to see a subliners' FaZe final. That's what I would like to see. So at least one of them's got to make a loser's run to get there. Obviously, OpTic... I still think OpTic will be FaZe's bogey team. I'm not sure OpTic get past Heretics. And if they do, I don't think they get past... I think Ultra's going to win against Surge. And I don't... If OpTic get past Heretics, they've then got to go up against Ultra, which I don't feel like they're going to win. No. And then even after that, then it goes to possibly OpTic-FaZe. That though, is going to be an absolutely bullet bath, mate. Yeah. That's going to be... That is going to be disgusting. The lower bracket always is, I feel, in the CDL. I feel that's where you get most of the high-octane matches. But mind you, because everything's on the line, isn't it? You know what I mean? This is what I mean, though. There's no really bad... Possibly the Ravens. There's not many really bad teams. You know what I mean? They're going to be like... Shut up. Yeah, it's very true. Shut up, Carolina. Yeah. I think that's all the Halo news, the COD news. Who do you think's going to win? FaZe, probably. FaZe. Monotox. Yeah. They're adding a whole new Covenant palette into Forge, which means that we're going to see a... It was worth the wait, let me tell you that. So, a couple of big things with the HCS for Season 3. So, do you remember the original HCS skin packs from Season 1? No. Right, so, in Season 1, when the teams released their packs, they were released as armor kits rather than skins. So, you know, like now, where it's a cross-core skin and you can go and put it on whatever Spartan you want. Right, okay. So, in Season 1, it was literally just a Mark 7, I think it's a Mark 7, but whatever the first core is, I think it's Mark 7, that skin, you couldn't change it, you couldn't do anything to it, it was just what it was. Right? They vaulted it, you can't buy them anymore. But on the 30th, when the new season comes out, they are putting them back up for sale, they're going to be completely cross-core, and anyone who's previously bought one is now going to get the new cross-core thing for free, which is pretty sick, you know what I mean? There's a couple of skins on there where it's like, for example, the Fae skin is super nice, because it's like red and white rather than red and black. It looks super clean. I do kind of wish that the E-United skin was still available. Yeah. Obviously E-United, now I'm not partnered, so that's another thing as well, so there's no Envy, there's no Navi, there's no E-United, there's no Fnatic, no G2 Esports. So those skins are just there. If you have them, they're rare now. I mean, they were rare before, they're even rarer now, because they're not getting re-released. The second thing that I talked about in Tashi's segment was the new skins that are coming out, which look insane. All of them look nuts. Yeah, you sent me that video. The SSG one, oh my god. Is that the one with the Eye of Sauron? With the Eye of Sauron on it, bruv. Like, that, that visor looks insane. Like, that's the most mental-looking thing I think I've ever seen at all, like, in a game. The other thing that they were saying as well is, like, obviously, so they've opened the door for, like, more customization from the team design, the design teams within the partnered teams, apparently. So it's like the Cloud 9 skin, I think on the visor it now says, like, Cloud 9, or it's, like, on the chest or something, but it just says, like, C9, C9, C9, like, repeated as, like, a monogrammed pattern. And it's like, that's pretty cool. Like, the Complex E skin on the visor has the Complex E star somewhere on it. I think it's in the corner. Like, but it's, like, it's nice that they've, like, allowed the teams a lot more opportunity and, you know, to make it their own. Like, they've all got different color palettes. They're all very, like, personalized to the teams. It's a lot nicer than it was before, where it was literally just, like, you have four colors and you can kind of put them wherever you want. You know what I mean? Yeah, a little bit cleaner. What is your opinion on the OpTic skin? It is... I've seen the tweet that came out from OpTic after they did it, and it was apparently their throwback to their championship-winning year. Yep. Now, when I first watched the video, the release of those ones, I first thought, like, the Quadrant one was the OpTic one. Sense. It's the normal sort of, like, green and white or green and black, whatever it was. But then it's not entirely, which it catches out, but it's still... As you said at the start, they're all super clean and super nice. Hmm. That looks sick. Yeah. It's interesting, though, that they've gone for that design more than anything. Yeah, it's... It's not typical OpTic colors. No. Like, it's... It's very... I just find it really weird. I can't lie. Because I think the thing is, as well, is, like, it looks weird. Like, personally, I think, like, the gold color on it, I mean, maybe it'll look better in-game when it's actually there rather than on, like, a promotional video thing. But, like, it just looks like a really weird shade of gold, and I don't think it goes that well with the white. No. Like... But it still does look very nice. It just looks a bit... strange. It's more champagne-colored than gold, I think. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. But the thing is... It kind of makes it look like yellow snow. It might look entirely different in-game, though. Yeah, 100%. Well, there goes... any sort of ability for that to go anywhere near any kind of ranked playlist. You know what I mean? It's not gonna be in ranked, it's not gonna be in HCS. It's just like, where are these... Where are these new maps for the competitive side of the game? Because they did Dredge, which was the Countdown Remake, and it wasn't very good. It's a chess match. And I feel in a 2v2 situation, you really saw that come out. Okay. I think there was a point where it was a recharge game. So Renegade was teaming with Frosty. I can't mind who they were playing. They were playing it was either Bibidubu and Spartan or Legend and Glory. Might have been Legend and Glory actually. And like, they got into a fight. Renegade backed the guy down but they were both one shot. Or like, Renegade was slightly more health. And he just like, turned and just like, just aggressive. It was Legend, that's it. Legend and Renegade in the 1v1 fight. He backs Legend down and Legend then hides at the bottom of the C stairs in um... There's like a small gap at the bottom of the C stairs and there's like a white box and he was sitting in there right? And Renegade so this fight happened at the bottom and Renegade like immediately just turned, grapples all the way around like the corner so like off the caution box lands on top of the stack and as he's flying through the air, like takes out the one shot Legend. And it's like the aggression and the like he was like, literally there was no time for him to think about it, he was just like bang, I'm going. And just like reset the fight from a different angle and I was just like Jesus, like this guy is like, how do you literally, how do you shut someone down that is that in your face constantly? Even when he's one shot, like in your face. Yeah, there's just the null fear. Yeah, it's like just different gravy. Um... Did you, so moving to the Sunday now, LVC obviously running the 4v4 tournament did you see Spartan's overkill? No, I didn't.
