The podcast host, Tess, discusses the term "garlic girl" and what it means to her. A garlic girl is someone who loves garlic and adds excessive amounts to recipes. Urban Dictionary defines it as someone obsessed with garlic. There is art, t-shirts, and videos dedicated to garlic girls. Tess shares her love for garlic and mentions various dishes she makes with it, such as roasted garlic and garlic mashed potatoes. She also talks about the precautions she takes to avoid smelling like garlic in certain situations. Tess encourages everyone to embrace their love for garlic and declares that garlic girls rule. Hello, welcome to my podcast. My name is Tess. Today I'll be talking about the term garlic girl. I personally love garlic and call myself a garlic girl and so let's get into it. A garlic girl basically is someone who loves garlic but like times ten and let's say like for example a recipe calls for three cloves of garlic. I'm gonna put in like six or seven cloves of garlic. No question and sometimes I even still use garlic powder for like seasoning. I think it like needs that extra boost. If you actually search on Urban Dictionary, Brady Crown defines garlic girl as a garlic girl being someone of any gender who is madly obsessed with garlic. They will always add an excessive amount of garlic to the recipes and they frequently prepare garlic with numerous methods. If you also search on the internet garlic girl you can like go to images and you'll find art that people have made that say like I'm just a garlic girl or you can like see t-shirts or even just like videos of people using sounds about like the sound that says that they're a garlic girl and the people usually use that sound and do something with garlic in that video showing like hey I'm a garlic girl and I'm gonna use the sound. It's just a garlic girl thing to like talk about garlic. Do garlic. Garlic is life. So how I mentioned using multiple cloves of garlic instead of the intended recipe and the definition I gave you saying how they use excessive amounts. Some methods that and foods that I add and make with garlic are like I like to do roasted garlic which is you will take peeled garlic and you wrap it in tinfoil you add some like olive oil and salt and I like put it in the oven from like 350 to 400 for like about 15 to 20 minutes and it's like really soft where you can spread it and I like do that with bread and I'll put it on butter or honestly sometimes I'll just eat the roasted garlic as is. Some other things I do or eat pickled garlic. Whenever I order Indian food I always have to have garlic naan. Thanksgiving's coming up I'm definitely gonna either have someone like hey someone make garlic mashed potatoes or I'll like load up some garlic mashed potatoes that's definitely on my plate for Thanksgiving and then when I get seafood such as like crab or lobster or any seafood or any food in general that I'm gonna add melted butter with or even just a spread of butter there's gonna be garlic in that a bunch of it as well where when I'm scooping like you know when you dip your crab in there like I'm gonna be also scooping some garlic when I eat that. But yeah so if a recipe also doesn't call for garlic I will also most likely be adding garlic to it unless it's like obviously something that doesn't pair with garlic at all and would be disgusting because I'm not that crazy but I am a garlic girl. Something funny that I actually have is a tank top that is bedazzled pink and it just says garlic and has like a little bedazzled garlic little thing on it and it's the cutest shirt ever. I've worn it as a beach top sometime one time and then I've just like worn it just in the summer this is just like a cute little tank top. Okay so now with all this garlic talk some of you might be thinking do you not smell? Does your breath not smell? Um you know you eat garlic you smell where let's say I eat roasted garlic I don't allow myself to eat roasted garlic if I like work the next day because you know you don't want to be with at your work smelling bad and it's just kind of rude because I work in a very close close space where people would smell me so I don't do that and if I have like a big friend hangout or just some type of event I just most likely won't because I don't want to embarrass myself. There was an occasion where one time I knew I smelled and I literally had to like apologize to everyone but everyone then I found out like my friend Leah is also a garlic girl. I feel like as a garlic girl if you don't like garlic I really question you respectfully but I know I feel like garlic is the top spice and everyone should just enjoy garlic and that's my podcast slash TED talk on garlic girl and I just really want to spread the word and hopefully maybe you realize you're a garlic girl after listening to this or maybe your friend may be a garlic girl don't worry they're not crazy I might be crazy but garlic girls rule thank you
