The problem with sugar isn't sugar alone, but rather when it is combined with fat, salt, and flavor enhancers in processed foods. This combination makes it easy to overeat these foods like cookies, chips, and ice cream. These foods are designed to make us keep wanting more. It's not just the sugar, but the processed packaging that causes us to overeat without thinking, leading to overindulgence. So, what's the real problem with sugar? I'll be honest with you. Sugar on its own isn't the main issue. The problem is when sugar gets paired with fat, salt, as well as flavor enhancers in processed foods. That combination makes it way too easy to eat more than you meant to. Think cookies, chips, ice cream. Once you start, it's hard to stop. These foods are actually designed to keep you reaching for more. So, yeah, sugar might be part of the equation, but it's the bigger setup, the processed packaging that really trips us up. So, once again, it's not just the sugar. The real issue is that they hit the brain's reward center so fast and we overeat without thinking, which leads to overdoing it.
