They conclude the podcast and recommend another sports podcast. hello welcome to the political podcast today we are discussing abortion rights and gun control first we are going to discuss abortion rights so I'll start off the issue I have Jake here with me and I have Burt here with me and so we're going to discuss the moral issues of abortion okay so I believe that you should have the right to have an abortion because it is their choice if like they were like happen to have a child unexpectedly or there was a mistake or something then I feel like they should have the right to an abortion what are y'all thoughts on all right Jake so what do y'all what is your thought on this oh I personally don't agree I feel like you're murdering a kid you're just taking a chance of someone else's life yeah I understand that but what do you think Burt I understand both sides like as if if a woman was raped that would make it okay for her to have an abortion but I also see the side where you can be taking someone else's life and had their opportunities yeah I understand I understand I guess I understand both your viewpoints but I still have to say that I believe it's okay for a woman to get an abortion because it's her choice there could be a many case scenarios where it was not again like Burt said like maybe she was raped or something like that then I understand both viewpoints or I understand this viewpoint so I think the we're going to talk about the Roe vs. Wade ruling now in 1973 this granted women to choose the right to have abortion so this is what I agree with this Jake you don't agree with this right no you don't you just totally agree okay and then Burt you're kind of just on the fence with it all right so all right next topic we're going to talk about is a all right next topic is gun rights I am against gun rights I believe that gun rights are they're not good for our society I believe that there should be some type of background check and we saw that in 1993 with the Brady Bill where there was a mandated background check and a five-day waiting period I believe that if we give the wrong people guns it could cause a really big problem in society a lot of people could get killed for no reason and you know you can see that in schools or workplaces or concerts it's just a big problem so I feel like there should be some type of gun control regarding the rights to just buy firearms all right Burt what do you think about gun rights I'm for gun rights because taking away gun rights violates the Second Amendment and I'm also against the Brady Bill because it bends the Second Amendment by not giving all Americans the right to get their arms I can see your opinion even though I disagree Jake what do you think about the subject I understand both sides of the argument but especially with the assassination attempt on Reagan I think there there should be some degree of gun control because having guns in the wrong hands is never a really good thing but I could I could see how the American people need their rights and their amendments provided to them that were given to them by the government all right I think we had some good discussion here so I think we're going to wrap up this podcast shout out to on time sports podcast they're a really good sports podcast so I recommend them and thank you for joining our podcast today all right bye everybody
