June 10 Don't Worry

Bobby McFerrin's song "Don't Worry, Be Happy" aligns with Jesus' words in Matthew 6.25, where he advises not to worry about life's necessities. Worrying accomplishes nothing and only adds to our problems. Instead, we should trust in God and seek His guidance each day. So, let's take Jesus' advice and choose happiness over worry. In 1988, Bobby McFerrin recorded the song, Don't Worry, Be Happy, which agrees with the words spoken by Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 6.25. As he said, Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap, nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more value than they? Do you realize, wearing never climbed a hill, paid a bill, dried a tear, calmed a fear, cooked a meal, or fixed a broken wheel? Someone has said that wearing is like rocking in a rocking chair. It will give you something to do, but it won't get you anywhere. In other words, wearing never eliminates our problems, it only enlarges them. It never helps, but only hurts. Wearing is useless. So please heed the words of Jesus.
