Nothing to say, yet
In conversations about progress, it's important to not forget about the motivator. If you're not seeing the progress you want, bring up the motivator and ask for ideas on how to accelerate development. This creates an emotional association with the need to change and achieve goals. Now, when we get to the yellow light moment, the progress stage, remember one vital thing. Don't lose sight of the motivator. Now, you don't want to be overzealous and constantly bring it up in your conversations, yet let's say that you're not seeing the progress that you would like or you're not achieving the progress that they would even like. What you can do is bring the motivator into the conversation. So let's take our hypothetical example of John being a more positive, influential teammate and their destination is to become a team leader. And let's say that's the next step in his career. You can bring that into the conversation and say, you know, John, I think we have an opportunity to accelerate your development as a positive, influential teammate. And one thing I want to ask you is, if we do that, what are two ideas that would position us to do that and, notice the word and, and how will that help you achieve your goal of becoming a team leader? What happens in that moment, it creates an emotional association with something I need to change, with something I need to accelerate. So remember the green light you're starting, the yellow light, what you're going to ask them to do is to accelerate. We're not seeing the progress we'd like to, let's accelerate it and how will that help you achieve your goal of becoming a team leader in this hypothetical situation?
