Nothing to say, yet
The speaker discusses the importance of letting go of people and things that are not meant to be in our lives forever. She categorizes people into three groups: seasonal, reason, and lifetime. She emphasizes the need to distinguish between these categories and not hold on to individuals who no longer serve a purpose in our lives. Letting go can also apply to negative emotions and situations that hinder personal growth and fulfillment of purpose. The speaker encourages self-evaluation and the willingness to move on from what no longer aligns with one's journey. Ultimately, she emphasizes the power and freedom in letting go. Hey, and welcome to Girl, You Better Talk With Tanya. Today, we have three words that we are going to dive into. These three words are let it go. These three words probably are the hardest words or the most difficult words for us to really apply to our life. But I want to give you a little perspective on why it is necessary to let it go, why it's necessary for us not to confuse season and reasons people as lifetimers in our life. We have people in our life for a season. They're just there for a particular period, time frame in our life, maybe to help us grow in a certain area, to get us to the next phase of our life. Then we have people that are there for a reason. We have people that come into our lives just to teach us something, to show us something. It can be whatever because I'm a believer of everything that happens in our life works for our good. It's just whether or not we have the mindset and the thoughts to take it as not a negative, although it is a negative, but to turn that negative into a positive because there are things that negatively affect us in life that can help us grow and to be the best person that we could possibly be or to help us grow and take us to the next place in our life. Then we have those people that are lifetimers. These are people that's going to be there through the good, the bad, the ugly, the whatever. These are the people who can accept you for who you are and knowing who you are and be okay with who you authentically are. These are people that's going to be your voice of reasoning. They're going to not sugarcoat. These are not your yes people. These are your people who are going to let you know what it is, how it is and be okay and you be okay whether it's good, bad or indifferent. They're going to let you know, but they're going to do it in a place of love. So these are our three kinds of people. And the people that you need to let it go or let go are your seasonal people and your people that are there for a reason. Oftentimes, we hold on to these people because it could be they make us feel good. They make us, you know, they do what it is that they want us to do. These could be our partner in crimes. These could be people that just do whatever, you know. We've all had people that were there for a season, and we've all had people that were there for a reason, and we've all at some point in our lives held on to these people longer than what they should have been held on to. And in the interim and holding on, most times it ends up being detrimental. It ends up hurting us more than it does helping us. So we have to learn to let it go. And we can be in situations. We can be in jobs. We can be in relationships. We can be in things that hurt us that we are holding on to that don't have anything to do with people. So letting it go can be anything. We need to let anger go. We need to let bitterness go. We need to let unforgiveness go. We need to let envy go. We need to let jealousy go. These are all things that hinder us from fulfilling our purpose. So I say all of this just to say it is okay to let it go. Everybody and everything is not there and not in our lives forever. They're just not, unfortunately. Even the people that we want to be there, they're just not going to be there or supposed to be there forever, because we could be holding up, and I'm a believer that we are holding up those people, and sometimes we hold up things because we're holding on to something. We hold on to jobs because we're familiar with it. We hold on to jobs because, listen, I have to pay the bills. And I'm not saying go out there and quit your job. That's not what I'm saying. But if the Lord is telling you to do that, then do that by all means. But what I'm saying is sometimes our contentment and familiarity holds us in bondage. It becomes a yoke on our neck when it's not supposed to be. I'm a believer we're supposed to use things, people, places, whatever as stepping stones to the next place, not using them but enlarging our territory. And we enlarge our territory as well. I believe in give and take. What is it that I have that can help you get to the next level? Let me pour into your life. What is it that you have that can get me to the next level? Pour into my life. We have to be multipliers. We have to be adders. We have to add to people. We have to multiply to people. And when you get people, places, or things that begin to divide and begin to subtract from you, these are things and people that you need to let go. And it's okay to let go. It's okay to leave a space that you are no longer thriving and growing in. We are a thriving people. We are creative people. We are innovators. We are supposed to be world changers. What are you changing in this world? But I first have to begin with what are you changing in your world? What are you changing in your life? And it could very well be that nothing is changing. Everything is staying the same because we are holding on to things. We are holding on to people. We are holding on to jobs. We are holding on to anything that was not meant to be a lifetime or a lifetimer. So it's time to reevaluate where we are, who we are, and the people that are around us so that we can distinguish whether or not these are lifetimers. And if they're not lifetimers, guess what? It's time in this season, in 2023, to let it go. Because we are in a season where we can grow, we can prosper, our capacity can be enlarged, and our territory can be enlarged. But we need people or things or whatever that's going to afford us to do that. And it's not that you're better than anyone. It's just that you've outgrown them, they've outgrown you, and it's time to let it go. Who knows? They could come back full circle and come back. And you come back in a different place where you all can thrive together again. So, as I said before, three of the most powerful words that I heard today, let it go. Nothing is worth taking away from the purpose and the destiny that you're supposed to fulfill here on earth. Remember, let it go. It's okay. It's okay.
