In the second test between India and South Africa, there were 23 wickets that fell on day 1, with the whole match finishing in just 107 overs. South Africa started poorly, getting bundled out for 55. India looked set to take a big lead, but then lost 6 wickets for no runs. Aidan Markram was the only South African to resist, scoring a century. The pitch in Cape Town has been a topic of discussion, but it made for thrilling cricket. The seamers were favored, but there was also some poor batting. Wow, what have we just witnessed? 23 wickets fell on day 1 in the second test between India and South Africa, with the whole match being wrapped up in just 107 overs. Day 1 kicked off with a morning spell where South Africa didn't even make it to lunch and were bundled out for 55. Siraj was the star with 6 for 15. India looked on track to build a monster lead at 153 for 4, leading by 98, when they astonishingly lost 6 for none with some great bowling and unbelievable fielding. Aidan Markham was the only South African to provide resistance, with a terrific 100, as it was Jasper Pumra's turn to pick up 5. Plenty has been said about the pitch in Cape Town, and I've got mixed opinion. Obviously nobody wants the match to be finished in a day and a half, but for those who did watch, it was thrilling cricket. I found this match far more entertaining than watching a flat track where batters fill their boots. Every run counted where any ball could have been the batter's last. The wicket clearly favoured the seamans, but wasn't the only reason for the mass fall of wickets, with some poor batting along the way as well. Let me know what you guys think.
