Spider-Man is one of the most influential superheroes. He was created in the 60s when his publisher encouraged him to make more characters. The idea came when he saw a spider crawling on a wall and imagined a superhero with spider-like powers. The character was initially rejected by his publisher but later became a huge success. Spider-Man's villains, known as his "Rose Gallery," are some of the most iconic and well-developed in comic book history. Try this. Ask anyone who Spider-Man is, and they'll tell you all about him. Spider-Man is one of the most influential superheroes of all time, and is the reason why characters like Ms. Marvel exist. He's gone from movies, TV shows... Heck, he even has an impostacle! We will do a deep dive about Spidey, and cover everything you need to know. Hey there! We're the notorious Zayon and Isaac. Today we cover everything about the phenomenon, Spider-Man, and how he became the icon he is today. We'll cover things like how they came up with the idea, his origin story, video game and movie adaptations, and more. But first, how did it all start? Spider-Man! Spider-Man! Spider-Man! Just whatever a spider can! Spins a web, any size! Catches thieves, just like flies! Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man! It all started in the 60s, around when Spidey was publishing the Fantastic Four. Spidey's publisher was encouraging him to make more characters to add to his collection, since they were all so successful. He was in his office, tired and was probably thinking of giving up. He already made so many characters, he doesn't really need more, does he? He wasn't quite sure, so he decided to take a break and relax, which is when one of his greatest superheroes in the history of media had risen from the dust, a legendary idea. You saw your average spider crawling on a wall, but, you know, wouldn't it be really cool if there was a superhero who could crawl on walls like a spider, and could do things like a spider? And just like that, something greater was born. He told his partner, Jack Kirby, about the character, and Jack immediately wanted to help. Kirby went back to his house and was thinking of the character, and his son asked him what he was doing. He told his son about the character, and his son excitedly said, Hey, I can make a web boy for ya! Kirby was flattered. He asked his son to come up with an idea. A few weeks later, his son was finished. The design, maybe, was kind of sloppy. They used web guns instead of web shooters, and Jack Kirby was really liking it, but Stan wasn't. It was a flop, sure, but Stan Lee really liked the idea of web shooters. Stan incorporated the idea into Spider-Man. A few weeks later, slowly but surely, Stan was done, and he rushed to his publisher to tell him all about it. Stan Lee rushed to his editor's office and told them about the character, a teenager who could crawl in walls like a spider and had superpowers. His publisher wasn't having it. For starters, everyone hates spiders. They're gross and icky and cause trouble everywhere they go. And second, teenagers can't be superheroes. They can only be sidekicks like Batman and Robin or The Flash and Kid Flash. Stan was really disappointed and decided to just let it go. Stan was really disappointed and decided to just give up, but didn't want all of it to go to waste. He decided to publish Spider-Man and The Amazing Fantasy No. 15. The Amazing Fantasy was an old book series that Lee was about to retire, but because no one was going to care what Stan put in it since it was the last issue, just to get it out of his system, he published Spider-Man and The Amazing Fantasy No. 15. After a few months, Stan Lee's publisher came running to his office, sprinting with joy. Everybody loved Spider-Man. Not because he was a cool idea. Because everyone saw themselves in Spider-Man. A teen who struggles with day-to-day problems like everyone else. Stan's publisher talked about how much of a success The Web Slinger was, and even tried saying that he knew Spider-Man was going to be a success all along. Stan later made The Amazing Spider-Man franchise with Steve Ditko, which introduced Spider-Man's most iconic villains like Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, and more. And that's how your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man was created. But wait. That's only a little bit of the Webhead's story. But that's all going to be discussed in... Chapter 2. Rose Gallery. Spider-Man is arguably one of the biggest rose galleries ever, only rivaled by the Batmans. Almost every single one of them has a compelling origin story, and has overall phenomenal characters. But who are they? And what do they want against Spider-Man? We'll discuss their origin stories, what they've done to Spider-Man, and why they're such a good villain. We'll discuss the top three villains in Spider-Man's collection, and the ones that truly left an impact on the Webhead. Spider-Man. Spider-Man. Spider-Man. Spider-Man. Spider-Man. Spider-Man.
