The speaker shares their experience with a lifetime warranty on car parts. They bought an alternator without a lifetime warranty and had to replace it multiple times within six months. They mention that they have never had a similar experience with AutoZone. Both O'Reilly and AutoZone offer tool-owning services. Well, you can do quite a few things, but again, if the quality isn't good, you're going to be annoyed by a lifetime warranty on some things. For example, you use that to try to customize a Nissan Maxima. The alternator went bad. So I went to O'Reilly and I bought an alternator. No, it didn't have the lifetime warranty, but in the next six months, that car went through five of their rebuilt alternators. I had to keep swapping them out. Now I'm out of stock. I swapped them out to a freezer customer. I didn't charge them anything. But after the fifth one went bad, obviously they had a batch of bad alternators wherever they were buying from. Personally, I've never had that same experience with an AutoZone. Every once in a while, I get one that doesn't work out of the box. But I never had one that I had to replace five times and then finally give up. Now both O'Reilly and AutoZone have tool-owning services.
