I am Julio Langarica, and we are the Curious Cultures Podcast. We are a group of students who dive into the similarities and differences of culture. Whether it's the way they dress, whether it's the rules, or how everyone greets, anything culture is our playing field. Today's episode is titled, Same Book, Different Pages. Before we get started, I wanted to thank everyone for listening to our podcast. And I wanted to give a big shout-out to Kayla Sargent and Kennesaw State University for helping us create this podcast. I'm very much looking forward to deep diving into the world of perception and culture. So, without further ado, let's get started with an introduction on culture and greetings. For today's episode, we are going to talk about different cultures. We will be talking about how culture is different from one another, and how they preserve different aspects of a world differently. How some cultures have only arranged marriages. They must follow some rules according to their cultures. Greetings are more than anything else. They are a culture expression that reveals the heart of the society. Some parts of Europe kiss on the cheeks as a greeting. Some parts on the East Asia bow. Some parts on the United States use a handshake to greet. One of the most interesting aspects of cultural diversity is the way people greet one another. It is a simple act, yet it can reveal so much about the values and a custom of society. Join us as we explore the fascinating role of a greeting in a different culture. Untravel the unique customs that define them, and discover how they reflect our shared humanity while celebrating our beautiful diversity. I love that every culture has their own way of doing things, and I cannot wait to learn more. Next, Pooja will give us a brief introduction into cultures and mental health. We explore how cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences probably shape our mental well-being. From the stigma surrounding mental health in a certain culture to healing power of traditional practices, we aim to shed light on the complexity and opportunity for support within a diverse community. Mental health is a universal concern, but the way it is preserved and addressed can vary significantly from one culture to another. It is important to remember that culture isn't just about the art, language, and rituals we discussed earlier. It also deeply influences our understanding of mental well-being. As an Asian American may find it challenging to seek therapy or openly discuss about their feelings due to cultural expectations, potential, or their mental health issues. In a Western society, seeking professional help for mental health concerns is encouraged, and conversations about mental well-being are relatively open. Understanding the influence of the culture on mental health becomes crucial. Join us as we navigate this essential conversation seeking to promote understanding, reduce stigma, and foster a more inclusive approach to mental health in every diverse world. If you guys have a question regarding our podcast, or want to recommend a topic, feel free to shoot us an email at CuriousCulturesPodcasts at achievement.com. And thank you for listening to today's episode, Same Book, Different Pages. Stay tuned for our next episode, which you'll be able to find on all podcast platforms. This is a rough draft, so in the final version, we will dive deeper into the perception of cultures and how some cultures perceive things differently and the same. The Curious Cultures Podcast plans to invite some people on the next episode where they will explain some unique things about their culture and why their culture does things a certain way. Remember, in cultures, there is no right way to do things. Everyone has their own way of doing things, their own way that they perceive the world. Once again, we are the Curious Cultures Podcast, and thank you guys for listening. We will see you next time.
