Just a few weeks ago, I practiced focusing on what my daughter says to me while taking in her words. I asked her questions, showed interest, and didn't interrupt her while she was answering the questions. I have quickly realized that she now opens up more easily and is very enthusiastic when she shares anything with me. This has helped us to strengthen our bond as mother and daughter, and I have personally experienced the power of active listening in my other relationships. When I make an effort to truly listen to what my daughter and family are saying, I feel more connected to them.
