The speaker discusses the issue of overthinking and feeling overwhelmed. He shares his personal experience of trying to address this issue by engaging in activities like biking and going to the gym. He talks about the challenges of staying present and the importance of finding ways to calm the mind. The speaker suggests that men need to come together to figure out ways to overcome overthinking and improve mental health. He also mentions the benefits of therapy and encourages men to seek help. The speaker emphasizes the need to stop overthinking and focus on being present in order to be productive and maintain mental well-being. What do we do as a man when we keep just overthinking every single situation in our lives? It feels like our mind, our minds are in prison. Let's really dig into that. Like we're trying to be so productive. We're trying to make so many moves. And traditionally, I don't know about the fellas out there, but traditionally men don't like to multitask. I mean, we do have times when we do it and we're forced to do it. But to be honest, a productive man likes to do maybe definitely one, two, nothing really over three things. We start to get overwhelmed when we start to do more than three or four things. Really, for me, after two things, I'm kind of tapped out. Now, I may try to do three, four, five, six things, but I quickly get overwhelmed. I quickly start overthinking every play, every decision I've made. I'm thinking about the past when this happened. I'm thinking about what will happen tomorrow. I'm thinking about am I pleasing this person? Hell, am I pleasing myself? Do I really want to do this? Man, my mind is just racing. About two, going on three years ago, I started to address this issue with myself. So I felt like it was time for me to go back to doing some things that I used to do as a kid. So I went out, I bought me a bicycle, spent like seven, eight hundred dollars on it just to show myself or prove to myself I'm serious about this. Because anybody that know me, you know, I'm kind of cheap. You know what I'm saying? When it comes to stuff, I try to find like the cheapest route or the cheapest way to do things. But in this situation, I said, nah, man, if you go out and you buy you a seven hundred thousand dollar bike or whatever, it's going to make you. It's going to motivate you to get out here and ride because, you know, you spent all this money on it. And it did. It did. I've been very consistent last summer. I didn't do as much as I did the first summer, but I still was out there. I'm just starting to get back on the bike now because the weather change. And so I've been on it twice so far, but it's just April. But I'm very impressed on my body's response to getting back on the bike. I wasn't really tired, huffing and puffing, feeling like, oh, no, I'm going to do this. It was just kind of like a natural motion. And then I've always over the past two, three years incorporated the gym and I've added certain routines at the gym, like getting in the hot tub, spending a certain amount of minutes in the steam room just to sit in silence and sit in peace to try to calm my mind. First of all, I'm a Sagittarius, right? Let's get that out the way. If you know anything about Sagittarius, we think about and overthink everything. So on top of that, and then on top of the fact that most men in general do that, you can imagine how my mind be racing. You know, it feels like it's a NASCAR race, but then it feels like it's one of those Top Gun jets. It's just racing, racing, racing, racing, racing, racing. Even now, as I sit here and I'm talking to you, sometimes I get moments, even in this video, where I'm thinking about something else. Oh, shit. When I get through with this, I got to do this. Oh, damn. Did you remember to do this? Man, it's hard to stay present. We all hear these videos that tell you, hey, the most important thing is stay present. Enjoy the moments in front of you right now. But it's hard. It's hard. It's very hard to do that when you're always trying to evolve and you're always trying to improve as a person, as a man. It's just hard to do that. So I think this moment right here is an opportunity for us all as men to come together and figure out ways collectively. How can we calm our mind? You know, how can we slow things down so that we can start being able to possibly comfortably do four or five, six things at a time? What motivates you? What motivates me to simply live in this moment, to be present, right? This instance is a very difficult and hard thing to do. We have to figure it out. We have to stop overthinking. Let me tell you, it's overthinking starts high blood pressure, starts other health conditions because your mind is so racing. You never have a chance to opportunity to rest your mind. Next thing you know, your anxiety, your fear, everything rises, which leads to high blood pressure. No, check it. Don't believe me. One thing you don't get from me is don't believe nothing I tell you. Do the research for yourself. And I also want to do a quick apology because I had a ritual when I used to do previous videos where I would always reach you and say, hey, I'm coming to you with complete love, gratitude and compassion. That's the way you just want to open up the energy to a positive site when you do these type of things for myself and for anyone that's listening to me. So you're going to get in the habit of me starting off the videos that way. It's kind of giving you an alert on that. But, yeah, let's let's let's dig into that. Let's dig into those moments. Let's dig into those darkest moments. Remember, being in a dark room, that's when you know exactly who you are. Seriously, sit in the dark room and see how long you can just sit in that dark room without thinking about anyone else, thinking about what you got to do next, thinking about, you know, tomorrow, thinking about yesterday, just thinking about that moment. Focusing on yourself, healing yourself, facing your inner child, facing your worst fears in that dark room, in that moment. Men don't like to talk about this shit. We don't. But I found that when I did therapy and that's something I'm going to dig into more about men doing there. Well, I feel like everyone should do therapy, but especially me. You know, I know we're not used to talking, but we got to figure this shit out. It's time to start playing. You know, nothing's getting easier. So we have to dig in deep and figure this thing out and finding the right therapist will open up, man, so many new levels of confidence, so many new levels of insightfulness within you on top of what you already know within yourself. Man, it's invaluable to yourself to do that. And you'll see me talk more about that in future videos. So let's focus in on that. Let's stop overthinking. Let's take time to stay present. And remember here on the I am inner standing channel, this is what you're going to get all the time from us just being genuine, being concerned about man's mental health awareness and how we can push through and continue to be productive in this tough ass society. Thank you.
