All right, you know, any kind of cold day or rainy night or whatever, it's a good time to do a little binge watching and everybody has their favorite shows. It's actually, it's like either I'm watching more shows and liking them or there just happens to be better shows on these days, maybe a little bit of both. On Netflix right now, you can watch this show called Kaleidoscope. It's really good. I really like it. It's the story of kind of a high-tech heist from like a bank vault, but I'm not gonna give you too much details on the plot except to tell you that it's a series of shows around this heist that go from 24 years before to six months after. And when Netflix shows you this, they will show you these shows in kind of a random order, which is kind of crazy. Think of that can't work, but it actually works out really well. In fact, I watched it in whatever order Netflix wanted to show me and it was totally jumbled up. And then I went back and I watched it in chronological order. So I've watched it twice now. And when you watch it in chronological order the second time, you kind of pick up on little plot details that kind of foreshadow future events. All right, I'm not gonna give you too much more detail except that it stars Giancarlo Esposito, who you might know as Just Spring from Breaking Bad and many other things. Check it out. It's called Kaleidoscope. I think there's six episodes. You're gonna watch them in random order. Then you're gonna watch them in chronological order. It's really good. Hey, thanks for hanging out with me today. I'm Big Rick Stewart. It's the Wine Country Saturday soundtrack at 99threethevine.com. Hey, it's the Wine Country Saturday soundtrack at 99threethevine.com. We have fun music and great information. And I saw this story and I thought, this does seem kind of crazy. You probably know it snowed, oh, just a little bit, right? In the Sierras and also over in Utah as well. This headline is from snowbrains.com, which is actually a pretty good website if you wanna follow all things snow and snow related. Alta ski area, Utah, surpasses 500 inch snowfall for the season. It's crazy. Now, this is in a place called Little Cottonwood Canyon, and they've always been known as one of the snowiest resorts in America, getting tons of snow with all the storms this year. 500 inches, that is crazy. Now, they go on to say that Alta joins Mammoth Mountain, California as the only two resorts in the world with over 500 inches of fresh snow this season. The resort has 132-inch base and a couple more feet of snow in the forecast. And well, of course, I mean, it's mid-February. Nobody's done yet. And yes, no matter where you wanna go for snow, your favorite place, whether it's near or far, you travel or you just hang out as close as you can get to the Bay Area, there's a lot of snow this year. 500 inches, wow, that is crazy. Get out and enjoy some of this and have fun, and thanks for hanging out with me on the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. Fun music and great information right here at 99threetofvine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack, fun music and great information. I'm Big Rick Stewart. It's been kind of a stormy winter, right? Lots of rain, lots of snow, and lots of these things. But you know what else happens with rain and snow? And actually, it's a snow melt that's gonna happen even more. The hunt for gold is feeding up. Now, the people that are doing this probably really don't want you to know about it, but the folks over at KCRA TV, kcra.com, did a story. So, I mean, you know, it's not like I'm letting the cat out of the gold bag, as you would say. Heavy rains in Sacramento Valley have created flooding on many of the streams and rivers up that way. It also pushed gold from the mountains down into the valley, and they say there's a little bit of a gold rush going on. Marshall Gold Discovery State Park in Coloma is a spot rich in history. There's a guy, Ed Allen, who is the park's historian, and at 75 years old, he's not only giving tours for the gold park, but he's also panning the gold himself. Ed Allen says, we just had a flood here last month, and that brought down gold. Every day, some of these people are out there prospecting and trying to find things and trying to keep their hot spot a secret. I'm sure that's part of the deal, right? There's a company called California Gold Panning that teaches people like 24-year-old Ashley Hardy how to pan for gold, and she says it's kind of a cool experience to do what they were doing back then. I see a good 10 pieces in my pan right now. State law doesn't allow miners to use big machinery, so it's a pan and swishing around and looking for that gold. A successful day for some of these gold panners is a penny weight of gold. That's 1.5 grams, worth about $80. You can still find some bigger pieces out there. Several years ago, the story says a miner found a six-pound nugget in Butte County. Hey, good luck if you're out there panning for gold. Hey, I'm Big Rick Stewart. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. Fun music and great information at 99.3thevine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. I'm Big Rick Stewart. Thanks for hanging out with me today. Some music from my time at Live 105 and K-Fob on Saturdays. We do the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. We feature fun music and great information. That's what we're all about here. I always like happy information. That's always a good thing. Grower revenue for Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, and Lake Counties in 2022 reached $1.3 billion. Oh, that's pretty good. This is from the Business Journal analysis of the National Agricultural Statistical Services California Grape Crush Report. Man, this is a big name. All right, so what are some real-life numbers? So for Mendocino County, they are up 28.8% with preliminary numbers coming in at $106 million. For Lake County, they're up 41.6%, $83 million. Sonoma, $534 million. They're actually down 3%. And Napa County, $860 million, and they're up 18.5%. So you always hear stories about wine sales up, wine sales down, millennials not drinking or whatever. But anyway, people are selling grapes. So that's good news for the farmers and basically kind of good news for everybody. I like that. Way to go, North Coast Vineyards, Mendocino, and Lake County, giving some love. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack, fun music and great information every Saturday right here at 99.3thevine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack, fun music and great information. I'm Big Rick Stewart. Wow, the world of farming is going high-tech. I mean like super-duper high-tech. Agtonomy partners with Silver Oak Sellers to advance climate-smart farming technology. This is a press release from PR Newswire. This company is out of the San Francisco area. Agtonomy is an ag-tech software startup, and they have announced a partnership with Silver Oak Sellers for climate-smart farming technology. Whoa, what the heck is that? Agtonomy software and tele-guidance technology called TeleFarmer will aid Silver Oak in their commitment to sustainable farming practices. TeleFarmer consists of innovative software, a suite of apps, and check this out, an electric vehicle reference tractor. Yes, an EV tractor running around out there. Kind of like a tractor drone or something, I don't know. The solution allows specialty crop farmers to remotely manage and execute day-to-day farming tasks. Wow, how about that? Reducing the overall footprint and all that good stuff. Well, that's cool. David Duncan of Silver Oak says, Silver Oak is not known to be an early adopter, but once I saw how far advanced Agtonomy's solution was, I knew it could help us take our farming operations to even greater heights. It's all about sustainability and doing all the right stuff and all those good things. Well, how about that? All right, look at these robot tractors roaming around fields near you someday, I don't know. The IT professional is now going to be part of the farming world. Well, maybe they already have been. Hey, I'm Big Rick Stewart. How about that? It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. Fun music and great information every Saturday, right here at 99threetofvine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. I'm Big Rick Stewart. Coca-Cola has a new flavor they're coming out with. They've done this in the past for a little bit. They kind of work with a musical artist or somebody and they come out with a limited flavor, a little different take on Coca-Cola, different look for the can and more. And so they've got a new one out and it's called Transformation. And this is going to be out in a few days. It'll be out on the 20th. Are you ready for this? Transformation, if you're a collector of Coca-Cola things or you just want to try something, here you go. It's a project that features singer Rosalia, who won the Latin Grammy Award of the year in 2022. The performing artist's success and accomplishments are what led Coca-Cola to collaborate for a drink. So here we go. The drink says it's trying to bring to life the transformational power of music. All right, I like that. It is related to her big hit song with a QR code and you can get behind the scenes content of L-L-Y-L-M or Lie Like You Love Me, which is a new song. So they'll have a QR code on the can and more. What does this taste like? Well, it sounds like it tastes pretty good actually. It's got a bold classic Coke flavor with softer nuances of butter and caramel reminiscent of sweet corn. All right, but look at this bright pink can of Coca-Cola. I don't think you can miss it coming to the shelves near you very soon. I like these new flavors of Coca-Cola. Do a little something different, shake things up. Hey, I'm Big Rick Stewart. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack at 993divine.com. It's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. Fun music and great information. Hey, I'm Big Rick Stewart. Well, let's head on, I'll get your attention. California bill could give consumers $2,000 to convert gas cars to electric. This is off of carscoops.com. So this is kind of a thing. Although it's very expensive for some cars, some cars maybe not so much. Of course, it also depends on your options. You can have a Tesla powered Volkswagen Bug. I mean a vintage Bug. You can also work on a Porsche 911. You can work on a Chevy Camaro. You can work on Ford Broncos and Range Rovers and just all kinds of vehicles. Basically, if you have enough money, you give it to somebody. And there are people that will convert your old vintage car to an electric car. Isn't that cool? So to help consumers with these electro mods, California State Senator Anthony Portantino has introduced Senate Bill 301. It seeks to provide tax incentives of up to $2,000 for vehicle owners who convert their vehicles to electric power. I like this idea. Because converting your old vehicle to like a small block Chevy 350 or something, it's kind of really expensive and you're gonna spend all that money anyway. This way you can kind of have an EV, whether it's an old truck or an old sports car or whatever. I like this. All right, so SEMA really likes this. SEMA is the Specialty Equipment Market Association. And they say, hey, we like this kind of like stuff. We kind of like these hot rod things, although bringing it into the modern world is a really good idea. So if you're a vintage car person, or I guess even more of a modern car person, doesn't really matter, you can convert your old car to an electric car and get a little cash to help you out. Well, if the bill passes. I'm in favor of that. Hey, it's the Wine Country Saturday Soundtrack. Fun music and great information right here at 99threethevine.com.
