This is the 7th teaching in a series about closing the gap between prophecy and promise. Many people wonder why their dreams haven't been fulfilled yet. The story of David is used as an example of staying humble and faithful while waiting for the promise to manifest. It took David 15 years from being anointed with oil to becoming king. During that time, he learned important lessons and gained favor. The message encourages listeners to trust the process and not give up. The speaker also mentions accepting tax-free donations. Welcome to Faith Alive in 5, the 5-minute gospel. Now here's your host, Dr. Faye. Closing the gap between the prophecy and the promise. This is number 7. This is teaching number 7 and I trust that you are enjoying this journey with me. How to close the gap between the prophecy and the promise. Many people are waiting and wondering why aren't their dreams being fulfilled? Why hasn't something happened for them? Why hasn't the promise of God been manifested yet in their lives? People of faith, people who have struggled so long and for so long they have waited and I want to help you close the gap and figure out where you're stuck and help you close the gap to see the manifestation of the promise in your life because that's the plan of God for your life. Last week we spoke about David and how at the age of 15 he was anointed with all. His good-looking brothers didn't qualify but David being a shepherd boy tending his father's sheep you'd think that part that was part of the plan. That God put David in a humble man's position and he learned how to take care of sheep before he ever had to take care of people and while he was tending his father's sheep God gave him a lion, God gave him the bear and God gave him praise and worship while he was out there tending his father's sheep. So when it was time for him to receive the all on his head, the all recognized the head, the all will recognize you. The anointing will recognize you. The calling will recognize you. The mission will recognize you but you must be ready in the right place at the right time and David was. He stayed in humility. After he was anointed he didn't go to the throne. No, he went back to tending his father's sheep. There was an in the meantime place as a matter of fact it was 15 years before David finally sat on the throne as the king of all Israel. God had a plan for his life but there were steps that had to be taken. We live in an instant society, a fast food society, a texting society. Everything is so quick, so fast and we get it done in a hurry. I was sharing this with my dad recently who's 93 years old living happily and I said wonder what your grandfather would have thought about this smartphone. My dad just shook his head and he said he would have thought it was the craziest thing he ever saw. We are living in an age where everything has to be right now and so in our minds we think God said that I am going to be this great evangelist or I'm going to own these properties or whatever it may be for you and you think it was supposed to happen yesterday. There is a process between the promise and the manifestation and many people bail out during the process. I don't want you to be one of those people. So I continue this series and closing the gap between the prophecy and the promise. 15 years it took from the oil on his head to the crown on his head. Did you get that? He slayed Goliath with a smooth stone. He inherited a wife and tax-free living. He learned how to manage his enemies from a higher place. When Saul grew jealous of him, he wanted to kill him. David grew in wisdom. He grew in might. He grew in strength. He also grew in favor by the people around him. God attracted some mighty men to him. He attracted some people who favored him because the oil was on David's head and what I want to remind you of today ladies and gentlemen, the oil is on your head and at the right moment, at the right time, the oil will attract the crown just like the oil attracted your head.
