In this episode of Faith Alive in 5, Dr. Faye discusses the importance of finding clarity in our lives. Many people are searching for answers and direction, and it is crucial to have someone to rely on and guide us. While we may have God to rely on, it is also our responsibility to work together and find clarity in our purpose. Just like the children of Israel wandering in the desert, we need to stop and listen to find the right path. Clarity is essential in achieving our goals and fulfilling our calling. We must be consistent in progressing towards our desired outcome and understanding why we are here. Dr. Faye offers her help in closing the gap between our vision and reality. Welcome to Faith Alive in 5, the 5-minute gospel. Now here's your host, Dr. Faye. Welcome back everyone. As we continue this series, I suppose it's going to go for the rest of the year, closing the gap between the prophecy and the promise. The reason I believe that this is so important right now is that many people are looking for clarity. They're looking for direction. They're looking for understanding. They're looking for answers. And as we gather in churches or in our companies and our, collaborate with our friends, our colleagues, our peers, we are still looking for answers. We're hoping that someone will say something, do something to point us in the direction that we need to go. And I am here to tell you today that all of us are in the same boat. We are still in this together. During the height of the pandemic, we saw billboards everywhere and signs and tags saying we're all in this together. But at the same time, it seems as though those tags are falling in the background and replaced with traditional marketing and understandably so. However, I want us to know the heart of humanity is that we need other people. We need to know that there's someone that we can rely upon, trust in, and guide us. And I know as a believer that many people will say, well, you know, we've got God to rely on and trust in. But yet, he put us all here in this big bowl of soup together. And since we're all in this big bowl of soup together, it is really our responsibility to find out why and how we can all make this mash and work together corporately and consistently. Clarity is something that is the most basic of human desires, yet it's something that seems to escape many people. Like the children of Israel, for going around the mountains for 40 years and looking for the promised land, where it really means they wanted to land on the promise. With every step that they took, they were in hope and in prayer that this would be the place, that this would be the step. You would think, common sense, that hey, we've been here before. We've been here, done this before. This is the same cactus bush we saw last week. Why are we at the same cactus bush now? And begin to sit down and pause, take a breath, and realize, wait a minute, something is off. Something is not right. We keep ending up at the same cactus bush. We're in this desert place. You know, this armadillo has been sitting there the entire time. And there comes a time that we have to just stop for a moment and to listen. Let's get clear about our direction here. Let's get some clarity. How many of you had challenges getting accustomed to using a GPS? You leaned into it like, okay, I'm going to let this thing tell me where to go and what to do. And you became totally trusting in an electronic gadget to tell you to exit, exit 57, to help you get to your destination. But in the beginning, it was a bumpy start. You would listen, you plugged it in, you tried to do what you needed to do, and it would lead you off on a different path. I remember the first GPS, and they were handheld, separate from the phone. They were not built into a telephone. Cell phones, I mean, smartphones are not that old, folks. So the handheld GPS, and I would use that, and the thing would take me all around different places. And you have to be careful because it'll tell you to go right on a runway street, and that's not a good thing. It doesn't warn you about railroad tracks or anything like that. So you have to be plugged in to your own sense of knowing what's right and what's wrong. You have to have clarity. You have to understand that there are things in this world that we can never give our attention to holistically because we will not have clarity if we do. And then there are things that we need to give our attention to, our callings. We need to give our attention to why we're here, our birth, why were we born, what does God have in mind for us. When we give our attention to that, clarity begins to come. We need to know why we're here. Because if we don't, then we'll never land on the promise. We'll be like the children of Israel, going around the mountain consistently, consistently going around a mountain. You know, a hamster is consistent, but it's going nowhere fast. So consistency is not enough. What are you consistent in? Are you consistent in progressing toward a realized goal? Are you consistent in being that person that you have been born to be so that you can have the things you've been born to have by doing the things you've been born to do? I want to help you get clear so that we can help you close the gap between the prophecy and the promise, your vision and your reality. I'm Dr. Faye, your pastor coach.
