Welcome to Faith Alive in 5, the five-minute gospel. Now here's your host, Dr. Faye. So we've talked about this post-pandemic rebirth that the earth is experiencing, you and I are experiencing, recreating a new infrastructure within ourselves, within our communities, within our lives. This is what's happening right now. You see, all things have passed away, and behold, all things have actually become new. There is no going back to normal. Normal, as some people define it, is that they're able to go and sit on the pews again and do as they've always done. They're able to go to their family homes and do what they've always done. But it's not feeling the same. It's not the comfort level that people are looking for. Why is that? That is because there is a new order. And most people feel this, but they have not been able to put words to it. So I'm here today, or during this series, to help put words to what you're feeling emotionally, mentally, psychologically. Why are there so much more outbreaks of crying, unlike anything that we've ever seen before? Insanity is at an all-time high. I call it mental health issues, but the reality is, it's insanity. And there's a lot of that that has taken place because of the isolation during the pandemic and all of the things that happened. You see, we cannot, as human beings, go through something like that and think that we're going to come out doing the same thing as we've done before and be okay. There has to be a resetting of our entire system, a resetting mentally, emotionally, psychologically. When I worked as a behavior specialist and a mobile therapist, I realized that there were a number of crises in this world that were hidden, and hidden crises, hidden situations inside of human beings. I was in private counseling service, served as a special education liaison for elementary school, and I saw so much mental health issues in those days that I'm seeing right now come full circle in this post-pandemic, sort of post-pandemic climate, where there are people that are grasping for new norms, grasping for identity, grasping for instructions. What do I do with this package that I have called life? How do I manage to walk it out in this environment? I've started a journey in giving you some tools. One is to realize that the breath that you're breathing is God's breath. That's God's breath. It is God's breath until he takes it back. It is only on loan. And the more you become aware of that, you automate his presence in your life. And I know there are those of you who really want the presence of God in your life today, begin to acknowledge his breath that's in you. Let him be the author and finisher of your faith through that breath. The next thing I've given you instructions about is picking up your Bible again, and read it, and read it aloud. This may sound elementary, but when you're creating a new infrastructure, we're starting and laying a new foundation. You got to start with the baby steps. You got to lay the foundation before the walls can go up. So start reading your Bible again. Even the Bible that you think you know and you can quote very well, some of you, go back and read it again. Go back and look again and see if what you saw before is still the same thing that you see now. Because God speaks in volumes to those who have an ear to hear. The Bible says of Jesus that he spoke as they were able to hear. There were a time in 2019 that you may have read a scripture and it read one way to you and you perceived and saw it as through the eyes of someone else, but now God is speaking in volumes concerning that same text. So go back, read it again. The next thing I want you to do is go on a fasting journey. Your fasting journey, whatever that means for you. Some of you, you're going to have to fast TV. You're going to have to fast whatever it is that you need to fast. Some of your favorites. And turn that time into a time of awareness of God's presence. I'm sharing some things with you that you may not get everywhere. Because when you're laying new foundations, you're doing resets of life. You have to give people steps that they need to do in order to change their lives. I want to see you whole and healthy. Nothing missing and nothing broken. Because that's who God created you to be. So look at your life and say, God, you know, what is it that you want me to step away from? Maybe it's to step away from texting so much. Step away from social media for a while. I don't know what it is for you. I can only do what God is telling me to do. It's up to you. Maybe it's to leave desserts alone for three days. I don't know. I can't tell you how long. I can't tell you how. But I can tell you stepping away from something. Because the Bible says the fasting that it will undo the heavy burdens. It will let the oppressed go free. And it will break every yoke. Do you believe the word of God? I do. Let it break every yoke. Leave something out of your life for a season. Separate yourself from it and be joined to the breath of God. I'm Dr. Faye, your pastor coach, and I'll be back next time. Bye-bye now. Thank you for tuning in to today's broadcast.
