Hello and welcome to our podcast Coffee plus Discipline. I am your host Sanjana and today for this very special episode, I have another guest joining us, Dr. Richa Gupta. Dr. Richa Gupta is currently leading the best pulmonology department in the country at Christian Medical College, Vellore. It's under her leadership that the department has reached such heights. Apart from being an excellent doctor, she was bestowed with several accolades. She's a prophetic researcher and also my aunt. This episode is indeed very special for me because Dr. Richa Gupta, or my aunt, is someone who's been my role model since I was 5 years old. I believe that you carried yourself with so much confidence, this flair, this panache that it was hard not to be like floored by you, by the way. And I grew up like, you know, I felt this devotion towards you and I wanted to be just like you. When I grew up, I was like, I want to walk like her, talk like her, had the same hairstyle as her and at one point I did. And I wanted to be a doctor just like you. And when I did finally grow up, right, when I began my career, I realized, wow, it's not that easy, the way that you made it look, right, to get to the top, to have that ambition and not be boggled down by the noise around you. And you are very successful and I'm so proud of you that, you know, you have reached where you have. And it's only now I realize the amount of challenges you must have faced along the journey. And that's what we want to talk about today in the interview. And without much further ado, let's just get into that.
