Culturally Well is a safe space dedicated to empowering Black and Latinx professionals by tackling the unique challenges that we face in the workplace. We'll be diving into topics like battling burnout, achieving financial freedom, navigating underrepresentation, and truly finding that sweet spot of self-care in the midst of professional growth. I'm your host, Ashley Bussell, and I want to share a little bit more with you about why this podcast means so much to me. So imagine yourself six months ago. For me, six months ago, I was sitting in the ER office with my heart rate of 140 miles an hour, and I was trying to figure out what was going on with me and why I felt so anxious and stressed. That weight of being the only one in the room, pushing through that pressure, and then learning the hard way that self-care is not just a luxury, it's essential, is why I landed myself there. My journey has had its ups and downs, but that created the passion into developing this community where we can all thrive together. We'll talk a little bit more about me professionally later on in the podcast. I don't want to give you all that elevator pitch that we all know so well when we're the only person of color walking into a room and we have to wear our accolades on our sleeves. I'll keep it brief and say that I have a background in workforce development and career coaching, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion that extends across a lot of industries to include technology and to include workforce development. In my journey, I've seen hundreds of people at the peak of their burnout and wanting to change career paths because they felt that that would be the thing that would be the cure and solution to their problem. I'm here to tell you that self-care and self-improvement are the tools to getting to the place that you need professionally and having the mental space to receive the abundance that you deserve. We're going to cover a wide range of topics that matter to us, from managing stress and building resilience to strategic financial planning for greater freedom and also to adapting to a new environment. This is going to be dope. I promise you guys don't want to miss these tips. So please feel free to reach out with your questions, stories, and topics you want to explore. You can connect with us at culturalite, C-U-L-T-U-R-A-L-Y-T-E, on Instagram and on LinkedIn, and you can also shoot me an email at ashley at culturalite.com. In the upcoming episodes, we'll tackle how to recognize and fight burnout, how to negotiate better salaries, and the importance of taking mental health days. Trust me, you don't want to miss these gems and insights. Thank you all so much for tuning into the very first episode of Culturally Well. I'm thrilled to have you here with me on this journey, and remember your well-being matters and together we can thrive. Until next time, thrive, balance, and stay well.
