The speaker used the Olin Library Research Database Online to conduct their research. They found articles, abstracts, and classroom studies on generative AI and its impact on writers in areas such as journalism, novel writing, and poetry writing. They wanted to have a balanced view on the topic and spent time finding arguments for both the positive and negative aspects to form their own opinions and arguments. My research process includes using the Olin Library Research Database Online. Through several hours of reading articles, abstracts, and classroom studies, I found topics directly relating to the generative AI impacting writers through journalism, novel writing, and even poetry writing. I wanted to be able to speak about this topic in more than a positive or negative light, and I took the time to find arguments for both to form my own opinions and arguments.
