Nothing to say, yet
The speaker is shocked to hear a prophecy that their parents, Polybius and Merope, are dead. They doubt the prophecy's accuracy, as they have heard conflicting information before. They question how this could have happened without their knowledge and wonder if the prophecy is false or if their parents are not their real parents. They express remorse for their past actions and ask Creon to take care of their daughters. This cannot be. My father and mother, Polybius and Merope, are still alive and well. I do not think this prophecy is true, but I also had a similar thing told to me by a prophet when I ran away from my family, and a drunk man who told me my parents were not my own. What? How did this happen? I had no part in this, so it either means the prophecy is false, or Polybius and Merope are not my real parents. How do you know this? By the gods. Does this mean the prophecy was still true? Creon, I have done horrible things to you and the people around me. I should be banished from this land, never to be seen again, but please, take care of my daughters.
