The My Roman Empire trend on TikTok is about how men think about the Roman Empire more than women. The Roman Empire is well-known and studied in the US. Julius Caesar and Jesus Christ are important figures in Roman history. The Roman Empire split into the Western and Eastern Empires. The Western Empire collapsed, but the Eastern Empire lasted longer and became the Byzantine Empire. The deaths of Julius Caesar and Jesus Christ are significant events in history. Have you ever seen the My Roman Empire trend on TikTok? What does it mean? Well the joke is that men think about the Roman Empire far more than their female counterparts. But why is the trend about the Roman Empire and not about one of the many other empires? Well the Roman Empire is one of the most well-known, if not the most well-known empire that the world has witnessed to this day, that most people in the US have studied in school. It had many prominent rulers such as Julius Caesar, Augustus Caesar, Trajan, Marcus Aurelius, Constantine the Great, Vespasian, Nerva, and others as well. Julius Caesar is the most well-known of them because of how he ruled and how he was killed, which is known as the Ides of March. The Ides of March is when Julius Caesar was killed by conspirators at the Senate, some of the conspirators being his own friends. The Roman Empire is also responsible for one of the biggest events in religious history. That event being the trial and execution of Jesus of Nazareth, or also known as Jesus Christ, who Christians believe that he is the Messiah, or also known as the Chosen One. Jesus was sentenced to death by crucifixion under Pontius Pilate after the crowd chose to release the murderer Barabbas instead of Jesus because they believed Jesus was lying about being the Son of God. They also believed he was spreading false prophecies. This event led people to say that he rose three days later and brought salvation, which led to the beginning of Christianity and the Church, and it eventually spread throughout the years across the globe. The Roman Empire split in 395 BCE into the Western Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire. The Western Roman Empire did not last that long and collapsed around 476 to 480 BCE. The Eastern Roman Empire did last much longer and was renamed the Byzantine Empire and it collapsed in 1453 BCE. The death of Julius Caesar, who is one of the most known military leaders and rulers, and Jesus Christ, who is one of the most known religious leaders, is why you know the Empire as well as the fall of the Empires, for these events changed history.
