Join This Chariot's 46th episode discusses the importance of training and apprenticeship in achieving our dreams. Dropping out of training or not seeking mentorship can lead to gaps in knowledge and skills. Even under bad leaders, there are valuable lessons to be learned. The story of David under King Saul teaches us the importance of patience, obedience, and seeking spiritual guidance. Going through apprenticeship helps us become mature and well-developed. Let us pray for grace and patience in our learning process. Visit gregalavidee.com for more messages. Hello and welcome to Join This Chariot for a 5-Minute Bible Study. This 46th episode on A Step of Faith is titled Apprenticeship Part 2. My name is Greg Alabi and I'm inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. Going through training offers us some very great value in preparing us to take a step of faith to achieve our vision and our dreams. Training can be formal or informal. An instructor or a set of instructors share valuable knowledge and experience to prepare us ahead. Unfortunately, some few enthusiastic people do not have the patience to take the much needed training or the drop out of a training without completing the program. The truth is that when we drop out because we feel we are good to go, as we move forward in life, those trainings we missed out on begin to show as gaps or deficiencies that become obvious to people around. But, like we said in the previous episode, talented, smart, and gifted people who go through mentorship and continue to be under supervision after they have started up tend to do better than their counterparts who do not go through any form of apprenticeship training or who drop out. Sometimes, some of us find ourselves under a leader who we think is bad for us, who makes life difficult for us. But like we said in the previous episode, such leaders teach us a lot. For example, we get to learn what not to do and how not to treat people. We get a first-hand experience of what it feels like being under a bad leader, and quite honestly, no matter how bad the leader is, there must be something or some things that are good about him or her. We may be too overwhelmed or engrossed in noticing their shortcomings and then end up missing out on several learning opportunities. Let us always remember that life itself is in phases and being under a good or a bad leader is only for a brief period. Now let us learn some valuable lessons from a man in the Bible who for several years was under a leader who was not very good to him. Instead of running away, which could have been a very justifiable thing to do, he waited it out and allowed the experience to build and prepare him. David Under King Saul Hopefully, we will get a better perspective about why God is allowing us go through some of the experiences we are going through currently or that we went through before. First lesson here, King Saul tried several times to kill David, but when David became king, he never tried to kill any of his protégés or mentees. Second lesson, King Saul did not take David under his wings to train him as the next king, but David took Solomon under his own wings and made sure he put him on the throne before his death. Third lesson, Saul did not provide David any resource or materials to use as king, but David saved up a large amount of money and building materials for Solomon to use in construction. Fourth lesson, Saul would not obey instructions and directions from the prophet Samuel, but David listened to prophet Nathan. Fifth lesson, for spiritual assistance, Saul went to consult the witch of Endor, but David would always go to seek the Lord for spiritual help. He once said, My help comes from the Lord. Sixth lesson, Saul died in battle front, but David died at a ripe old age at home. My point, sometimes, where we find ourselves, teaches us what not to do, therefore, let us learn as much as possible. The Bible says in James chapter 1 verse 4, But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. The message translation puts it this way. So do not try to get out of anything prematurely, but let it do its work, so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. The lesson, if we patiently go through apprenticeship, we become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. Let us pray. Father, give us the grace and patience to go through learning process, that we come out fully baked and ready to go, in Jesus name, Amen.
