This episode 63 on A Step of Faith is titled Starting Place. My name is Greg Alabi and I'm inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. When you want to take a step of faith to start anything, where you decide to or choose to start from, the place of take off does matter. You hear people say location, location, location. That means your choice of location will determine a lot. It could determine your outcome, your patronage, your customers, the process you will go through, your value, how you and your plans are perceived and received, how easily or difficult things will go with you, and how you will go about implementing and achieving your goals. The value of anything can potentially increase or reduce because of its location. The socioeconomic class of those who will be around you could be determined by your location. My advice, it is okay to start small, but remember that some of the characteristics of living things include movement, growth, and reproduction. Therefore, as you grow and know better, as you understand the culture and the environment better, be flexible to make that big bold step to relocate if need be. But before you venture out, ensure you conduct an elaborate research, investigate and inquire about location. Where is the best place to start from? My point, if you think you need to relocate in order to improve and do better and bigger, then let the reward and the outcome, the benefits and the results that you could potentially achieve motivate you to relocate. Have you noticed almost every great and successful people and businesses had at some point changed locations on a number of times to somewhere more strategic and bigger before they finally got to where they currently are? Wrong locations could lead to complacency. It could keep you average and you operate below your maximum potential. And over time, if you are not careful, you start accepting it as the will of God for your life, making the best of where you find yourself. Dear friends, growth and movement is not sinful. If anything, God does not like us to remain average. In the book of Revelation chapter 3 verse 15 to 16, Jesus expressed his disappointment about people who were neither hot nor cold. Now let us learn some valuable lessons from a farmer in the Bible who had good seeds but the outcome of his harvest and the results he got were all determined by the location where he invested his seeds. In Matthew chapter 13 verse 3 to 9, Jesus tells us about the parable of the sower. I guess we are all familiar with the story. Some of the seeds fell on the wayside, some on stony ground, some fell among thorns and some fell on good grounds. And even among those that fell on the good ground, they had different outcomes, 30%, 60% and 100% success rate. Now here are some valuable lessons to learn. First lesson, location. Out of four different locations, only one location was good for his seeds. Even the right location, only two-thirds were above average. One-third was still below average, 30% output. The lesson, be intentional, be rational. Put some serious thoughts about the place you intend to invest your plants upon. This farmer put two-thirds, or rather three-quarters, I mean to say, of his seeds in the wrong location. Just one-quarter fell on good grounds. Why? Be intentional about your location. Second lesson, patronage. People who will patronize you, they martyr. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 7 verse 6, Give not that which is holy to the dogs, neither cast your pair among swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and drain you. The lesson, if you want to take a step of faith to start something significant, remember Joseph the dreamer? He told everybody his dreams. It was his own brothers who dealt with him. My point, watch who you bring on board. Location matters and people around you also count. They could affect your outcome. I pray the Lord to lead us to where we will prosper and flourish in Jesus' name. Amen. I want to invite you to visit our website, greglabby.com.
