Since my conversion to the world of U2 didn't come to me until the Zootopia era, the first concert I could attend would be the Pop Album Tour. My buddies and I all waited in line to buy our tickets to see U2 at the Seattle Kingdome on December 12th, 1997, and we were all so excited to attend our first U2 concert. It was the week prior to the concert, and my buddy had lost the tickets. We tore up his bedroom and his car to try to find them, and we couldn't find him anywhere, and we were devastated. And the reason why he had all our tickets was because we knew he was the most responsible one out of all of us. We decided to get tickets again. Yet the concert was sold out, we had to pay a higher premium to get tickets, and yes, we were on the main floor again. Yet our original tickets were next to the stage. We ended up left of the stage about 40 rows back, but we were just happy regardless to attend. I remember getting to our seats, looking up at the big arch, and on top of the arch was a Christmas tree. When the concert started, the stadium went dark. I turned around, and walking right out next to me was Bono, in his fighter's robe, and Edge in his cowboy hat, and the cool collective look of Adam and Larry were all arm lengths away from me. The concert was full of energy, exciting, seeing that huge lemon sparkle on the side of that magnificent stage. I had a random thought come to me. When the tour ends, will Bono convert that lemon into a garden shed? What I didn't know was that Edge had the flu that day, but that didn't stop him from playing. The highlight for me was when Bono and the Edge played a somber rhythmic acoustic version of Staring at the Sun. When the Edge left the stage, Bono kept on stage and did a one-man acoustic of Sunday Bloody Sunday, but I could hear the impact of the lyrics in this acoustic version. However, the song that I hear acoustically that gives me perspective is the song Stay, the lyrics of hearing buying cigarettes when you don't smoke, nor even want to. It shows the lyrics of U2 can be important as the musical notes played. So here's the third song I desire most, Stay.
