God is Doing Something

Shall we take a word of prayer? Father, we are grateful for your new message today. We thank you, O God, for your abounding grace unto us. We pray that as we look into your word, may we be blessed, may we be edified in Jesus' name. Amen. Let's kindly take our confession from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall not be part out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success. Amen. Beloved, the title of today's morning glory devotion is God is doing something. God is doing something. Let's take our scripture reference from Habakkuk chapter 1 verse 4 and 5. Habakkuk chapter 1 verse 4 and 5 reading from the NLT version. The law has become paralyzed and there is no justice in the courts. The wicked far outnumber the righteous so that justice has become perverted. The Lord replied, look around at the nation, look and be amazed, for I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn't believe if someone told you about it. Amen. Let's take our second scripture from Psalm 18 verse 30. Psalm 18 verse 30. God's way is perfect. All the Lord's promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. Amen. God is doing something. Max Locado once said, God is God. He knows what he is doing. When you can't trace his hand, trust his heart. Amen. Beloved, almost every day we wake up to some news of prevailing corruption and injustice, horrible life threatening situations and all kinds of chaos that aims to disrupt the peace around us. There's so much decline in moral discretion and the skills of injustice almost non-existent. Just like in the time of the prophet Habakkuk, when he makes all these complaints to God. Thankfully, God assures us just like he did for him, that he is still in sovereign control of the affairs of men in this world. Though evil spread wild like a cancer, his providence remains intact and nothing falls outside the counsel of his will. So for all of us who continue to put our trust in God, his assurance to us is that he has not abandoned us to suffer evil continually. He is doing something in our favor and he's doing it in our time. In this season, God assures us in Psalm 27 that we will see his goodness in the land. It may not seem too obvious what or how he is doing things right now, but he certainly cannot fall short of doing wondrous things. God is working things that will always ensure that as many as believe in him will not fail nor be disappointed. God will make good on his promises to his people and deliver them from all their troubles. And here's the best part, because it is he the Lord who is doing it, it will be great. It will be mind-blowing. Have no doubt at all that God will show up for you and you will be amazed at your own testimonies of his goodness. Amen.
