The speaker starts by expressing gratitude for another day in the presence of Jesus. They mention a special prayer startup on Radio HCI and lead a prayer. They then read a passage from Psalm 144 and discuss the journey of the Israelites from Egypt to the promised land. They emphasize the importance of recognizing God as both Savior and Lord, and urge listeners to surrender their lives to Him. They conclude with a memory verse from Isaiah 43 and a prayer. They also mention upcoming programs on Radio HCI and invite listeners to join them again the next day. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, it is another wonderful morning to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has blessed us with life, strength and joy unspeakable. Thank you for tuning in to Radio HCI today and for partaking in our special prayer startup which aired between 6 and 6.30 a.m. I am sure you have been blessed and you are expectant of God's promises for you today. I am Deacon Eliel Kilson and I am privileged to be taking you through our morning glory devotion for today. We would like to start on a short note of prayer. Shall we pray? Our matchless King, we are glad to be nowhere else but in your presence. As we gather before you, teach us your word like never before and let your word have a positive lasting impact over our lives. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen. As usual, before we dive into the word for today, let's take our confession from Joshua 1.8. This book of the Lord shall not be part out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success. Amen. Today's morning glory devotion is entitled, Lord and Savior. Lord and Savior. We will take our Bible reading from Psalm 144 verses 1-8 from the New King James Version. Psalm 144 verses 1-8. When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of a strange language, Judah became his sanctuary and Israel his dominion. The sea saw it and fled. Jordan turned back. The mountains kept like rams. The little hills like lambs. What ails you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you turned back! O mountains, that you skipped like rams! O little hills, like lambs! Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turned the rock into a pool of water, that flamed into a fountain of waters. Amen. I believe we have on countless occasions heard or read the Exodus journey of the Israelites from Egypt through the wilderness and moving in the direction of the promised land. We see how God saved them from the four hundred years of tyrannic rulacy of King Pharaoh through ten magnificent plagues—plagues which completely shattered the grips of Pharaoh that held them bound. They stepped out of Egypt not only free men, but blessed with great substance of wealth. God's miraculous saving grace did not just end there. When trapped between Pharaoh and the deep Red Sea, He made a way, rescuing and drowning the great armies of Pharaoh. He gathered them all through the journey with a pillar of cloud and of fire. He gave them sweet water when they were thirsty. He fed them with heavenly manna when they were hungry. And just when they needed a change in meal, He sent them meat on Quail's Express. He fought their battles for them, saving them on every turn. What a wonderful Savior He is! In all these things we see the saving loving arms of our God in their lives. The journey of the Israelites from bondage through the Red Sea, the wilderness, and finally to their promised land is a perfect illustration of the journey sojourned by believers. For we all were once in the world—that is, in Egypt—under the bondage of the devil Pharaoh. We were rescued and washed by the blood of Jesus—that is, the Red Sea—and ever since have been journeying towards heaven, our promised land. In all these things we have seen the miraculous saving hand of our God. He has delivered us, made a way where there was no way. He has fed us. He has healed us and provided our every need. Oh, what a wonderful Savior He has been! A closer look at the Israelites' journey to the promised land also reveals how a large section of them only recognized God as their Savior but not their Lord. They called on Him for His saving loving help when they were trapped, when they were thirsty, when they were hungry, or wanted the provision of a particular need. However, they failed to obey or honor His Word or do His commands. They questioned His directions and the authority of His servants Moses. They complained and grumbled at His Word and wished they had never embarked on this journey, making unwise comparisons between what they had in Egypt and what they were given by God. They completely failed to recognize His Lordship over their lives, giving Him no honor. This may not be any different from what we see now as we journey towards heaven, our promised land. For some of us, we easily call on His saving power when in need but fail to honor Him as Lord. To some of us, He is just our Savior, our Deliverer, our Healer, our Redeemer, our Miracle Worker, and our Waymaker, but never the Lord or Father of our lives. We estimate His Word as excruciating burdensome. In Malachi chapter 1 verse 6, the Lord tells us these words, A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am the father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my reverence? We should at all times remember that our journey into the kingdom only began when we first confessed with our mouths His Lordship over our lives and believed in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. It was this acceptance for Him to rule over our lives that brought Him in as our Savior, our Deliverer, our Healer, our Waymaker, and all the other things we can say about Him. And not the other way around. In other words, His perfect work of salvation, healing, and delivering begins only when we completely surrender our lives to Him, handing over the keys to every aspect of our lives. This is similar to a country being colonized by another, just like how Ghana was colonized by the British in some time past. We as a country only started deriving benefits from our colonial masters when we first agreed to be colonized by them. After we did so, our well-being became their responsibility. They protected us from being exploited by other nations. We spent their currency, we spoke their language, we adopted their fashion, and soon began to bear resemblance to their way of life. When we begin to see God as our Lord, and not just some names to an end, just like the likes of Caleb and Joshua, we would get to our promised land and receive our inheritance. We would not only see glimpses of His power at work in our lives, but the full manifestation of His Lordship over every situation. He would calm the raging seas of our lives and give nations for our ransom. He would be ultimately responsible for our well-being, just like He declared in Isaiah chapter 43, the verses 1 to 4. But now, thus says the Lord who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flames scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Sheba in your place. Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you. Therefore, I will give men for you, and keep home for your life. Amen. As we go through today, let us strive to see God not just as our Savior, but also as our Lord. Let us relinquish the throne of our hearts to Him and completely surrender to His leadership, obeying His every command. Let us allow Him to make His say in aspects of our lives that previously He had no say. God richly bless you as you do so. Amen. We would like to take our memory verse from Isaiah 43 verse 3 from the New King James Version. Isaiah 43 verse 3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Sheba in your place. I take it again, for I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Sheba in your place. Amen. Let us pray. Gracious Heavenly Father, we thank you for your Word for today. We are grateful for teaching as the essence of recognizing you as the Lord and Savior of our lives. We relinquish the throne of our hearts to your Lordship and receive grace to follow your leadership. In the matchless name of Jesus. Amen. Let us keep listening to Radio HCI today. Still to come are programs that will keep you on fire for the Lord. Kindly remember that lunch hour prayer will also come on at 12 noon exactly. We look forward to seeing you or joining us tomorrow by God's grace at 6 a.m. for starter prayer followed by our morning glory devotion at 6 30 a.m. God richly bless you. Have a lovely day. Shalom. Peace. Bye.
