Haley Walker talks about her brand and who she is. She describes herself as rugged, compassionate, and vegan. She values making people laugh and getting to know them deeply. She enjoys car camping, swimming in the ocean, and loves oranges. Haley wants to visit more national parks, take up new hobbies, and meet new people. She wants to be remembered as someone who helps others feel loved and is always ready to have a good time. Her life soundtrack includes songs like "Manor Muppet" and "Our House." Her brand is compassionate, rugged, and vegan, and her goal is to make a positive difference and be a good person. Hello and welcome to Chickpeas, where Haley Walker talks about things she likes and who she is. So on this episode, we're going to talk about Bram. It all reminds me of this episode of South Park, where I don't remember which character, the one that wears the green jacket goes to like this publishing place and they develop a brand for him in five words and they each ended, like every brand in the PowerPoint would always have the word victim and it was, it was pretty funny. Like, for example, I think the brand he chose was like rugged vegan compassionate victim and I feel like that all fits me, but I digress. My name is Haley Camille Walker and I am a vegan. I am rugged and compassionate, probably not really a victim, but you know, I get why that helps people become more likable. Everyone likes an underdog, you know, but for today, I'm going to interview myself. So I'll start with this. Um, who are you to others? Well, I feel like I am a lover, not a fighter. And I like to make people laugh and I like to get to know people deeply. Most of all, the only people that probably even would describe me are like my friends and my sisters and perhaps my parents. So I guess I'm a sister, a pal and a daughter. Um, another question for you Haley is what are your likes and loves? This one's easy for me sometimes, but whenever I'm asked on the spot, I always never know what to say. But for the most part, I love car camping. It's just so fun to sleep in. Well, okay, it's not really fun to sleep in the car, but it's fun to wake up at a park or like a state park or something. Um, I like to go to Somersville State Park and wake up by the lake. It's just so beautiful. And I love starting campfires, not just any fire. I'm an arsonist. Um, I love swimming in the ocean. I grew up in Corpus, so I'm always happy next to the water. I feel like, you know, in the, in the 1800s, they would prescribe like insane women are insane with like quotations around that, um, a beach trip. And I think that's so true. It is so healing. And I love oranges. Um, the next question for for you, Haley, is what are some things that you want to do before you die? Well, I always think about this because, you know, as a person, part of the human experience is thinking about when you're going to die. And sometimes when I'm feeling anxious or afraid, I'm like, Well, you know, we're all going to die pretty soon, like soon relatively, you know, so I should probably just start doing things that I want to do before I die. And part of that is I want to go to more national parks. I just want to see more nature. I want to take up like a random hobby, like surfing, or juggling or playing Dungeons and Dragons. Like, I think all of that would be super fun. And I feel like finding a hobby with like a community would be a really good experience for me. I just want to do more karaoke, be bold like that. I love to sing, but I'm not very good. But you know, I think karaoke is also a bonding experience, or at least it is for your own psyche, psyche, you know. And then I want to meet more people. I want to connect with people on a deep level. And I want to get to know why other people are the way they are. And, and hopefully, you know, help help them or change their life in a positive way. And then, okay, what would you like to be remembered for? Well, I would like to be remembered as someone who is, who helps other people feel loved. And I also want to be known as like, part of the party, just someone who was ready to have a good time. So my epitaph, I was thinking about this, and I love idioms. And I think that also, that's my legacy is, I want to be someone that, you think of Hayley Walker, you think of idioms. She was someone who really liked a good old phrase. So I was thinking about my epitaph, and I, this is the one I came up with. Some roads, I mean, all roads lead to Rome, some lead to Hayley Walker. I think that would be so cool on a headstone. But I digress. Lastly, what five songs or actually only put four would be in my life soundtrack? I hope I find more. But at this moment, these were the songs that are always have always been important to me. Manor Muppet from the Muppets. I don't think I'll ever stop loving that song. It's so beautiful. And it's about, you know, you know, everyone questions who they are. Even if it is that story is told that through Muppets, then then so be it. I haven't heard a better. Yeah. And then I love the song Our House by I think it's Nash, Nash and the Crosby and Stills. But I love that song because it's my dream. I want to someday have that life where it's all peaceful and, and you have a partner that you love. And everything is easy because I don't know, you just make it to a point in life where where hopefully you're you're content and you're at peace. That's what that song is about to me, obviously. And I think it's unlike cats in the yard. That's adorable. I'm allergic to cats, but I think it's cute. Then I love Dolly Parton. So I had to put one of her songs on my life soundtrack, which would be Here You Come Again. Just beautiful. And then you know me better than that. Because I grew up listening to George Drake, very country, even though I'm not a country person. But you know, he belongs in in my number five songs or so. And also you know me better than that. It's like the people you love will love you in spite or because of your flaws. And I think that's also a really good message. So to top it off, my brand, probably compassionate, rugged. That's the nature part of me. Vegan. I love dark chocolate and oranges. I'm not a victim or a hero. Just just a bystander. That is my brand. And I just want to be somebody who makes a positive difference, or at least has a pretty content, peaceful life. And I'd like to just be a good person. Those are my only goals. So till next time on chickpeas. Peace out.
