The sacramental worldview is a Catholic understanding of how humans and creation participate in God's salvation. The Eucharist has evolved over time, from animal sacrifices to a genuine sacrifice of heart and mind. This shift occurred around 200 B.C. when the Jewish people realized that God desired a holy life. Various forms of the Eucharist are found in the Old Testament, including the fruit of the tree of life, Abraham's sacrifice, and sacrifices of reparation. A sacramental worldview is a Catholic way of understanding how humans, as well as creation, participate in God's act of salvation to us. So, basically us participating in the Mass and participating in our faith through our body and soul in order to help God achieve his salvation for us and for us to get complete union with him in heaven. Throughout the ages, the sacrament of the Eucharist has changed drastically. In the age of nature, it was a sacrifice often to appease supposedly angry gods, whereas the God of Israel looked for thankfulness in the heart of each person offering. The sacrifice was changed from animal sacrifice to a genuine sacrifice consisting of a good soul, a pure mind, prayers, and thanksgiving. This development took over in the year 200 B.C. amongst the Jews when they deemed that the animal sacrifices were inadequate and God wanted a holy life. There are many different types of the Eucharist throughout the Old Testament, such as but not limited to the fruit of the tree of life, the sacrifice of Abraham, and the sacrifices of reparation.
