She shares her own experience of always being encouraged to speak and perform on stage, despite being nervous. Ivy Joy encourages listeners to stay tuned and active. We're 595. We're the best R&B station in the nation. We got the best soul, best throwback right here. Welcome back to the Unwind. Get down with me, your girl, your host, Ivy Joy. You're on the Ivy Joy Show. Now it's day 15. Love, Ivy, on to everyone. Listen, listen, listen. Okay, so we are here chilling on Wine and Get Down It. And we're trying to instill the familiarity of the set of sounds you find your calling, right? And the first one is, it feels familiar to you. It's something that resonates well. And it's a gift that you've always had. Your calling isn't something that you have to be given. It's already instilled. You just needed that time to find it. Okay, listen, listen, listen. So it's also something others will see in you too. Because it's mind-boggling how since I migrated to New York, I was always in a position to speak. I did poetry in elementary. I would speak on the speaking column. And I was always so nervous because words were a little different for me since I was learning a second language at the time. But it was something that my teachers, my principal, always provoked me to do. And I was always called to do it. I spoke on stages. And it's ironic because I naturally enjoy doing it, but the idea does sound nerve-wracking. But when I'm in it, it's like, it's exhilarating. You know what I'm saying? So it's something that you will see when you're comfortable doing it. It's familiar and it's also something that others will see in you. Listen, listen, listen. Continue to stay tuned and stay active. I'll see you right here on Vibe 95. And zoom!
