Merrile shows her daughter a pocket watch and asks if she knows what happened to it. Merrile suspects it was lost during their move and possibly stolen. Her daughter is upset but forgives her. The conversation becomes tense as the daughter accuses Merrile of hiding things and not being truthful about their past. Merrile tries to comfort her and insists that it's best to keep some secrets for her own well-being. She asks her daughter to be obedient and listen only to her. Okay, so I'm going to show you how to do that. Okay. Yep, I'm ready. Come in. Naturally, dear. What do you need? How could I forget? Look at the pure, magnificent craftsmanship. You liked it better than my own gift. Nonsense. One look at the sparkle in your eyes and I knew the truth. Not to mention the way you clutched it against your chest whenever you felt nervous or scared. You cannot hide these things from your own mother. Of course. Anyway, I was wondering if you knew what happened to it. There's no way we found it. Unfortunately, I fear it was lost while we were moving here. Probably stolen by the crew we hired. Ugh. If only I had been more careful. But I was so worried about your well-being. Will you forgive me? It's alright. Shame we lost it. But I still have the memories. The merrile stands up and walks around the desk. It's called an emmerant. It moves faster. Indeed. The emmerant is silent for an instant as merrile begins to move behind her. And then, over time, the memories are there with us. So now we have a low reaction from the emmerant. Emmerant? Yes? And merrile's close to the door by the emmerant, right? And the tome gets a tidbit sober. What is this really about? Mother, I know you are hiding things from me. And so merrile walks back to her desk and sits down. Of course I do, my child. Everyone has a secret garden. It's only natural. I'm not talking about those kinds of secrets. It's not just a pocket watch. There's not a single memento of father left in the whole mansion. So you admit it was you who rummaged through my belongings. I thought I raised you better. You keep saying that you have to explain who was in the coma. Father died during his manicure. That's not what happened, is it? The world is so different from what I remember. There are entire blank sections in your diaries. People I just met seem to know you somehow. And you, mother, are so cold. You speak only male threats. And my new friends are shitting their boots when you're near. Amaranth! Why is everyone afraid of you? How did you cure me? What happened to father? And then, merrile suddenly gets up, slamming her hands on the desk. The teaser splatters, and she stumbles to her own feet. Terrified, Amaranth and her friends face one hand, and the other, pat her head down with the other. And so, I can imagine that you're still sitting behind the desk at this point. And then, you get up, slam the desk, and I go, Enough! And then, as you stomp towards her, I can see the second hand in Amaranth's hand. And then, after you grab her, you're threatening her at this point. And, uh, you can, uh, lower the tone just a tiny bit, as you're now closer to her. Which one of them turned you against her? At this point, where she's sitting, you can imagine, you have to imagine that. Enough! Allowing these pests to influence you was a grave mistake! Which one of them turned you against me? Who was it? Then why? Really, now? I believe you. You were always such a sweetheart. I made sure of that. It's true. Things are very different now. And it's best you keep yourself in the dark. You want to avoid unnecessary distress. Sometimes, the less you know, the better. What's more, no matter what the truth may be, you're alive, and we're together. Isn't that all that matters? There, there. Don't cry. I'm sorry to have scared you so. But from now on, you have to promise me that you will be a good girl that listens only to her mother. Understood?
