The UK Foreign Office has issued a travel warning for LGBTQ people visiting Greece, despite recent legalizations. They advise caution, as attitudes towards LGBTQ individuals may vary throughout the country. Lambeth Council in London has received £2 million in government funding to provide housing support for young LGBTQ residents at risk of homelessness. Hannah Waddingham, a showbiz personality, stood up to a photographer who made an inappropriate comment about her appearance on the red carpet. The UK Foreign Office has issued a new travel warning to LGBTQ holidaymakers visiting Greece. Despite Greece recently legalising same-sex marriage and adoption, becoming the first country with a Christian Orthodox majority to do so, the Foreign Office has suggested that those in the LGBTQ community should still remain alert. In a statement, the Foreign Office said that whilst attitudes are generally much more welcoming in Athens and on many Greek islands, these attitudes may vary throughout the country and that showing affection in public may be frowned upon, especially in rural areas. Lambeth Council in south-west London has received more than £2 million in government funding which will go towards providing housing support for young LGBTQ plus residents. The money, granted through the government's Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme covers three years and will support young people who would otherwise be at risk of rough sleeping. It will be split between three initiatives which will see the council working with third sector organisations such as the Albert Kennedy Trust to provide specialist accommodation for 22 to 26-year-olds. And in showbiz, Hannah Waddingham is being called a role model for her response to a photographer calling out, show your leg, while she was on the red carpet for the Olivier Awards. The ceremony's host replied, you would never say that to a man and to have some manners. One fan online wrote, what a queen. There's more news online at gado.co.uk
